Yolanda Hadid Has Responded to Stephanie Seymour's "Bitches of the Moment" Comment

The #RHOBH #ProudMommy is coming to her daughter Gigi's defense.

By Laura Rosenfeld

Yolanda Hadid has a bone to pick with Stephanie Seymour. After the legendary supermodel dubbed the industry's current It Girls Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid "bitches of the moment," The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum and mom to Gigi is calling her out for her lack of compassion. Yolanda recently told TMZ that "it's sad to see some of these beautiful semi-retired supermodels, who are mothers themselves now, feel the need to publicly put down someone else's daughter."

She went on to say that Gigi is the total package as a supermodel with her "height, great looks, hard work and [she is] a good role model for other young models," according to TMZ. The website also reported that Yolanda said Stephanie should instead focus on "leaving a positive legacy and be supportive of the new generation."

Yolanda's comments are in response to an interview Stephanie did with Vanity Fair earlier this month in which she was asked for her thoughts on Rebecca Romijn's criticism of the fashion industry's acceptance of "social media stars" setting "our style standards" during an interview with ET in April. “They are completely different than we were,” Stephanie told Vanity Fair. “Supermodels are sort of the thing of the past. They deserve their own title. [Kendall and Gigi] are beautiful girls, and I support all of them, but they need their own title.”

She then suggested "bitches of the moment" would be "a good title for them," according to the interview.

However, Stephanie recently took to Instagram to clarify her comments and welcome the next generation of supermodels with open arms. "I don't usually address rumors, but since feelings have been hurt I would like to set the story straight," she wrote. "At an event last week I was jokingly asked if the "era of supermodels" was over, what should we call the new great 'it' girls?? There were no names mentioned, and NO ill intent involved. A supermodel is a supermodel. I respect and admire all these women in my industry, in particular Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. Having been in the business over 20 years I know how hard these women work. Bravo to both Gigi and Kendall for their success!!"

Well, it looks like that's the end of that. For now, at least.
