What are the odds?

I suppose that as someone who owns a casino, this might actually be a question for which I could somehow find out the answer.

I'm referring of course to the double whammy endured (literally) by my husband. Twice he had his nose broken by one of our sons. Not once… twice. How does that happen? At some point after the first break don't you instinctively keep your eyes on the flailing limbs and heads of three little boys when you horse around with them? At what point does the idea of ducking or dodging actually take hold?

Yes, I'm completely teasing him. I probably need to instill a little Muhammad Ali in Paul and teach him how to "float like a butterfly" a bit better. He's apparently already got the "sting like a bee" part down pat, considering how fast he managed to push me in the pool. By the way, a little tip about payback? It's best served up with a dish of surprise. So look out, Paul, paybacks are a bitch! Ha!

A lot of people have said the banter between Paul and me is very relatable, and that it reminds them of their own marriage in so many ways. The back and forth works for us, and it's an element of the friendship that we have. We both have very strong personalities, and are not afraid of saying what we feel, so the teasing is the humorous way that we communicate. I'm a very strong believer in the adage "different strokes for different folks," and for us, we've found something that works in this dynamic. I do love that we’re able to make people laugh with us in the process.

With a new year having just begun, I wanted to take time to talk about my resolution for this year. I've joked that my resolution would be to broker a 24-hour cease-fire amongst the Housewives, but in all seriousness, I've really thought about what I'd like to accomplish this year. For some reason, 2011 feels infused with more possibility than recent years – and I'm looking forward to the new projects I have slated for the coming months. On the Maloof Entertainment side, I'm so excited to be working with renowned director Gary Foster and writer Doug Richardson (Bad Boys, Die Hard 2) on an incredible film based on a true story that you won't want to miss, and I've been approached by some really talented and amazing people to work on fashion projects. Of course our family's philosophy for the last 150 years has been that you can't forget the magic to any business – and that is to take care of your employees, take care of your customers and to always give back.
