There is so much to write about this week!
The first thing I want to touch on is that this episode really showed the many different experiences that women can have in relationships. Watching Kim as she opened herself up again to meeting someone, it was a reminder of how hard it can be to allow yourself to be vulnerable in the hope that you will be rewarded for that bravery by finding a consistent, trustworthy person with whom to share your life. Even after you find that person, it's rarely the romantic fairytale that we dream of – I think Taylor's blunt conversation with Kyle was a real eye-opener for so many women who are evaluating the trajectory of their relationship or marriage. Sometimes what we think we want doesn’t end up being what we really need, and it takes a lot of courage to dig deep and be truthful with ourselves. Of course, finding that truth is a very valuable thing – because it gives us the ability to make positive changes in our relationships, parenting style or career. I'm also a firm believer that it is never, ever too late to change things for the better. That being said, marriage is an incredible amount of work and compromise, and I know through my own experience that it is a learning process every single day. But hey, no pain no gain, right?
As you saw, Paul and I celebrated our eighth anniversary on the episode. I was surprised and delighted with how much thought and care Paul put into planning our anniversary and choosing my gift. It's a running joke in our household that we rarely buy the other something that just "works." Paul is a surgeon, and that makes him kind of a perfectionist, so there is usually something wrong with what I get him (and vice versa!).
Therefore, the gift of the beautiful German Shepherd we named Luna was an especially touching surprise.
Congrats on your new addition to your family. I admire you and your husband. You success has not made you cold. I love your intro money is what I have not who I am.
It was so nice to see you on WWHL last night. You were very gracious about all the Camille questions lol. I love that your wedding dress is on display like that, what a beautiful daily reminder of that moment for you & yours. I find the two of you to be the most "real" couple. Thanks for letting us have a peek into your life.
You must take a look at Boxers. They are amazing with children!!! They are sweet and loving and wonderful companions. Your boys will LOVE a boxer! Good luck.
Adrienne, I really like you. You seem grounded and have good common sense which must be hard to hold on to when you live in a land of privilege and wealth. You always have a good approach to things which makes me wonder why you treat your husband so sharply. You are fond of him, it is easy to see but so critical of everything he does. He is not a 2-3 yr. old and with many equally gorgeous women every day. One may be more positive and non-judgmental of him. Everyone can improve.
Adrienne I think you are great. You are so humble. You and your husband are my favorite. If I could make a suggestion about a dog, Boxers a great family dogs. They have the energy to keep up with the little ones, but know when they need to be gentle.
You are true class.. thank you for showing the world that money does not have to affect who you are negatively. I hope you write a book one day.
I have two active young boys. Although I love dogs, I was reluctant to get one because I didn't need one more thing to clean up after, but 2 years ago they finally talked me into it. We researched carefully and ended up with a Puggle (1/2 pug, 1/2 beagle). He is quiet, sweet, playful and extremely tolerant of our boys and all of the kids that are in and out of our house every day. He has been such a great pet for our family. Hope you find the perfect addition to yours.
Adrienne, I am sorry to hear that Luna didn't work out for your family. I too love dogs but temperment and breed has to be considered as you pointed out when you have kids. I know you have probably already heard that Labrador Retrievers are excellent with children. I enjoy the show so much and you and Paul are so funny together! You are always so diplomatic and considerate. I think I like RHOBH the best of all the Housewives! I read an interview you did and you mentioned God as being a big influence in your life and it shows. You rock!
Adrienne,
You are such a great part of this show. There are three of you that even though you are blessed with the life of luxury, you can tell you don't take it for granted, you work hard for what you have and you never ever ever seem to forget that everyone deserves to be treated well, to be treated with respect and honor and to appreciate people for who they are and what they have to offer.
I hope you and Paul last forever. You can tell in his eyes he truly adores you, he loves you for you and he would love you through fire and ice. He seems to really love you for you and in your position in life, that has to be such a blessing to know he's in it for the right reasons.
Again, thank you for as much honesty as I am sure is sometimes hard to share on a tv show but thank you for keeping it as real as you can. It makes this series of the Housewives' series the one to watch.
Your insight last night on WWHL said alot without you having to say much at all, again showing your class. Thank you for confirming what seemed to be what was showing and wasn't pure editing to make someone the villian.
I hope maybe someone like Cesar the Dog Whisperer can find your family the perfect dog or two. That would be a great part of the show to have that could make both of your shows have a great episode. Thank you for sharing your responsible decision making process in finding Luna the right home for both her sake and your children's sake. We were happy to see that included in your blog.
Your family is so honest, so real and so beautiful. Thank you for letting the world see that having wealth doesn't mean you are shallow, empty, cold-hearted calculating people. Thank you for showing that you and Paul are real.
Adrienne, I find you to be refreshing. I love your opening line "Money is what I have, not who I am". You seem to be so grounded. I wish you & your family continued success.
Thanks for the blog. German shepherds are amazing family pets, but it helps when you get them as puppies so that they can bond with the family members. Shepherds will be the most protective dog of your children you can find if you start with them young. The dog was probably confused as to who the owners are and what was expecting of it. Sounds like you need a different trainer...that shouldn't have been an issue with correct training. Also, you mentioned the bloodline is from Germany and those tend to be more aggressive shepherds. Again, your trainer should have picked up on that.
Adrienne, I have been a bit on the fence about you but just became a huge fan after reading your blog. You truly have put your family's needs first in finding another home for Luna, even though it was very clear how excited you were to receive her. I am also sure that in a home your size you could keep her seperated from the boys, but you and Paul and smart enough to realize what a great life lesson a dog can be for children. As you mentioned, there are wonderful breeds out there that can truly become a member of the family- I have one laying on my off-limits sofa as we speak!
I can't help but notice the striking difference between the housewives this year and the emphasis on family. You, Lisa, Kyle and Kim , despite great wealth compared to many in American, seem to have your family values in the right place and appear to be very hands on. The jury is still out on Taylor and as for Camille, I believe the 4 nannies speak for themselves.
I hope that Luna is enjoying her new home and that you find a family friendly puppy for those beautiful boys to love and romp with!
I appreciate that although you are obviously a very busy, successful and wealthy woman, you present yourself as a real one. I liked that they showed your wedding dress on display(if my closet was big enough, I would love it!!) and how Paul couldn't fasten your necklace or herd the kids into the chair on time. I also love the way you snatched the napkin when he was trying to be so fancy. My husband and I bicker and snip at each other and then laugh a lot, but we struggle with those "romantic" moments too. What you present rings more true than grand declarations of love or some people's need to justify their relationships constantly.
Hey Adrienne, I first want to say how sorry I am to you and your family for the loss of your Uncle, My thought and prayers go out to all of you...I also want to say that your sons are adorable and it seems like you are a awesome mom. Enjoy each and every moment because it goes by so quickly. As for the show I really enjoy RHOBH because for the most part there is not a lot of drama except for (Camille) I love the fact that this show gives us a inside look into a type of life style that most of us dream about...I really hope that the drama stays to a minimum because this show doesn't need it ....Take care
Adrienne how is it that you are so successful, beautiful and priviledged, and yet are SO unbelievably down to earth and grounded?? You are truly truly an inspiration! I find your marraige a joy to watch. As you said, all couples bicker! Each marraige has it's own energy and as long as there is love, it works and it's beautiful. It's clear how much Paul loves and adores you, and vice versa. Thanks for opening your life to us all. You certainly come off as a calm and sharp woman on screen, and your words on this blog reveal a level of wisdom and heart that we can so appreciate. You were so fun on the after show with Andy!
Adrienne, You seem like such a nice person and someone who would be a great friend to all! It's a joy to watch you and your relationship with Paul, you two crack me up! It's obvious you guys are in love and for that, I'm very happy for you. I wish you and your family a happy & healthy holiday season!
Adrienne, I'm so sorry to read you had to find a new home for Luna. But I do agree that a dog has to be very comfortable in their environment, especially around young kids. I am a cert. canine massage therapist, so when you do get a four legged family member, I would love to offer you my services for free (only problem is I don't live in CA!... yet =0)
Too bad about the gorgeous Luna, but it's great she has a new home. Consider a Sheltie for your boys. They are loving and loyal and very sweet and gorgeous dogs. Paul planned a great anniversary! Hat's off to him!
Hi Adrienne, I just love you !! Sad that it didn't work out with Luna. What a magnificent dog. While they are wonderful, German Shepherds don't always tolerate young children well. Have you considered a Golden Retriever or Goldendoodle? We have both and there is a reason they are considered the quintessential family dog. They will happily take anything your boys can dish out. One of the most lovable things about the Golden Retriever is that they have this way of making everyone in the house (and houseguests as well) think that they are the dog's favorite person :) Anyway I hope you find the right pet for your family. Mandy P.S. My husband and I stay at The Palms several times a year. Love The Palms!!!!
Adrienne, you are awesome ! You are one of the most down to earth, unpretentious people. Totally unexpected, I might add. I love your work ethic and your business acumen. I wish you continued success and happiness!
Adrienne,
I really enjoy watching the happy and playful marriage that you are so lucky to have. What a wonderful way to spend on anniversary in your own home, too -- without having to worry about making a reservation or acting a certain way! I'm so sorry to hear that Luna did not work out -- such a beautiful dog! Look forward to seeing the new canine addition soon!

I think you are a wonderful inspiration to all women, mothers and wives - to see the pain you went through losing your uncle was so touching. I know this was filmed a bit ago but you are in my prayers.
I'd love to have someone like you for a next door neighbor. What a beautiful and fun family you have! You cracked me up last night on WWHL with your carefully chosen and very diplomatic answers to the ?s regarding other cast members. VERY funny!!
You are by far my favorite housewife. You seem so settled and you have a confidence that is not shown in the other ladies. You are awesome. Please except my condolences on the death of your uncle.
Adrienne, I just want to commend you for your class and grace last night on Andy's show- you refused to insult anyone, you chose your words carefully and tried to keep everything positive. That is SO rare, and I admire you for it! All the other women seem to take a little pleasure with their digs at each other, but you were above all that. Also, I greatly admire you for being a strong business-woman! You are an inspiration!
Adrienne I watched "what happens live" and I think you handled yourself well. You didn't take yourself too seriously, answered the questions directly and took one to the chin about the glitter in your hair! LOL! You and Lisa are two of my favorites. It was so sweet to see Paul put so much effort into making your anniversary special and although you had to get rid of the dog, it was a very sweet gift. I love to see you and Paul banter back and forth. There's a quality of realness in the way that you two interact with one another. I think people try to make you out to be a bully towards Paul but he looks quite capable of holding his own. You're very thoughtful in your words and thoughts and I feel that you hit the nail on the head with Taylor and her very insightful conversation with Kyle. I believe this show will help several of the women take meaninful steps in improving themselves, their relationships and worth as a woman.
Adrienne, don't know if my other comment posted b/c Bravo has a weird way of posting comments, but in case it didn't post, I'll say it again- Brava to you for showing class and kindness last night when you refused to insult any of the other women. It would have been very easy to do so, and i really admire you for being SO classy. Also, way to go for not answering questions about whether or not you've "had anything done"- it is NO ONE"S business but yours! People can be nosy, but in the end they are not entitled to know such personal things. Anyway, just wanted to say good for you for your kindness, grace, and class!
Ok. you know your my favorite. I act like you. I am a guy's girl. It is crazy when i see you on all the episodes because I can relate to you the most. I have that harsh critisizm toward men. I will be kind of mean and say "just kidding" like you. Its kind of like bickering but in a nice way. So anyway, if you need an assistant, which you probably do since your a busy woman, I am so the woman. I am 27 years old, single, beautiful woman that wont give any guy a chance because i dont trust them! Sad but true. Maybe one day I will find that guy, but I havent. Anyway, love you! So sorry for your loss of your uncle, my condolences to you and your family, especially your mother.
I just have to say that I love you and your husband together. You two are awesome together. He is so sweet to you, and you are good to him. I know you grew up in New Mexico, and I'm so proud that someone is representing us so well. Thank you.
You have to be my favorite housewife of all the shows I have seen. You are level headed, kind, compassionate and not a snob (money is what I have, not who I am). I'm glad you found a good home for Luna, I totally agree with your perspective on children and pets. As a dog owner myself I always like to introduce my dogs to children who might be apprehensive since my dogs are very kind and my little mutt is in a wheelchair (she coos and runs up to children to be pet!) and the children get a good dog experience. As one little boy said "Oh, she has training wheels" of my dog in the wheelchair. So kudos to you Adrienne, I hope we get to meet someday.
you are my fav!! love your relationship with your husband, it cracks me up, you guys are so compfortable with each other, I know they edit that show alot, I just thought it was so funny the way you are with each other!
just wanted to comment on the dog situation, we have a german sheppard, female, she was super protective by the second day, we saved her from a pound and she was around 4 mo. old--she had a little mean in her (toward people that would come to the house, not us) I think you may want to get a pup, eventhough they are more work in the begining, I think with your young childeren, that would be best. I am not an expert but I do have a dog that if I got any later in her life, I think we would have had a situation like yours. She has been trained to be nice, lol! but if she has it in her head to be protective, she will not listen either, good luck! :)
Adrienne, I could not wait to watch this week. From the trailers, your facial expressions and gasp when you saw the dog was priceless! Because the trailers obviously did not reveal what the gift was, I spent two weeks imagining what it might be.... hence I was going with gold-plated sports car. Wouldn't that have been fun too? Maybe for your ninth anniversary...
Anyhow, that gasp is worth watching over and over again. The dog was beautiful and your husband is great. Can you clone him and send one to me? I think you are great and I love watching you and your cohorts. Ok. At least most of them I like....
Loved your opening about Kim and all of us finding love. Perfectly put, you have a wonderful way with words!
Adrienne you and your husband are so much fun to watch! Love your kids too. Love the hair forget the haters!
andrienne,
i appreciate you knew luna wasnt a good fit for your family.
maybe next time you might think of saving a dog from one of the numerous shelters out there?
Adrienne I think that you are a lovely person, you make the show watchable without all the drama and envy! It is wonderful to see a strong woman on the Housewives show, that is still being a loving and caring mother and wife! So glad you are on the show!:)
I like you Adrienne. You seem to be an honest, sincere and real person. It is refreshing to see you handle all the drama so well. I like the sparkles in your hair, so keep using them!! You were great on Watch What Happens last night!!
Your recent blog (and I haven't read your others yet) is the most articulate, well written one that I have ever read. It show true depth of knowledge of yourself and others. You have a maturity and wisdom that is very "old soul". Clearly, your business savvy and your family history come through in every aspect of your life. Cudos to you for being together.
I love your husband. He cracks me up. What are you going to do when he retires? Surgeons typically don't work until 65 -67 years old. . . Unless he becomes really busy with other business, he will demand more and more of your time. I'm smiling to myself thinking about how the two of you will interact in 15 years!
Adrienne, I think you are actually my favorite of the show. One of the thngs I have noticed is your clothing. You never seem the have to let it all hang out just to prove you are a lady - love it. I also like the way you don't take crap from anyone / even your loving husband. Way to go!
Adrienne,
Loooved this episode - it really showcased the great dynamic between you & your husband. Y'all are adorable and a joy to watch! It's obvious that as much as Paul delights in rocking the boat with you, he cherishes you even more. I think this cast of husbands is the absolute best in the RH series(Russell notwithstanding). Hope you and your family have a tremendous holiday season.
I absolutely adore you and your husband and the way you interact.....both of you are so natural and laid-back. A pleasure to watch.

Your relationship with your husband is cute. I love the back and forth because you both take it in good stride. It looks like you built a good foundation and can now say what's on your mind, good or bad and it remains just that: a comment.
Wishing you all the best.
