Showrunner Dave Rupel answers a ton of viewer questions before the holiday.

Dec 22, 20100

Q: Karentc wants to know what I found funny about this episode.

A: Well, Karen, as I stated in my last blog, I in no way wanted to make light of all the hurt feelings and tears shed the night of the dinner party.  However, looking back, I can find various things funny. Allison’s facial reactions were priceless to me –- and so was her vapor cigarette. When Camille brought up Faye’s Playboy issue and referred to liking her “spread” –- well, the ladies at the dinner table cracked up, and so did I. When Kim walked into the planter on the way out, I laughed. Not at her, but because it was classic Kim. She was the only lady gracious enough to formally thank Camille for extending the invitation –- then promptly walked into a plant. That reminded me of something that Mary Tyler Moore would have done on her sitcom. And finally, the sprinklers being turned on as the ladies exited –- it was just a fitting and unbelievable thing to end a totally unbelievable night.

Q: And finally, LRSCM says thank you for blogging.

A: You are very welcome, LRSCM.  Hey, it’s Christmas. Did you really think I was going to end on a criticism?  ;)

On behalf of the roughly one hundred behind-the-scenes crew and staff that it takes to produce The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,  thank you for letting us into your homes! Have a safe and joyous holiday season! See ya in 2011!

I love this blog! I always find myself wondering things, and it is so great to learn about behind-the-scenes action.

My question: I also would like to know more about the interviews. I pay attention to the outfits they are wearing, and it seems like there are only a handful of interview sessions for each lady for the entire season. At what point do you interview them? Are they obligated to answer your questions? Do they ever not want to comment on something that you ask them about? Do you ask them questions about everything, and then only the questions that are relevant to what is shown in the episode is aired? Or do you only ask about the big events?

Thanks for taking the time to answer fan questions.

I was just wondering why in all of the other House Wives of... shows that the famlies are in the background during the beginning credits but not so with Beverly Hills?

Dear Dave, Just read that the reunion taping was EXPLOSIVE. Could you give us a sneek peak? Thank You

I have a quick question, when do the individual interviews take place? Are they shown the footage that you guys are going to air first? It always seems like it's at the end or something because usually have the same clothes on, so I assume it's at the end of airing the show.

Dave, serious question. Can't recall which episode exactly, pretty sure it was early into the season, Adrienne is giving an interview and talking about her marriage and how Paul and her bicker but it's fun and loving. Then she corrects herself and says no it's not, and I SWEAR I can hear the crew in the background laughing but it quickly cuts away so I'm not entirely sure. Would love to find out if it was indeed the crew laughing. I personally would love to know or see more of the womens interaction and relationship with the crew. Do they offer you drinks and bathroom privelages? Have you eaten dinner at the Vanderpumps? If they're so comfortable on camera I imagine behind the scenes with the crew is a lot more candid.

Dear Dave, At the reunion, could you please have Nene explain what Lisa V. was talking about when she said that Nene and another lady were making out in her restr. Thanks

Here is another burning question: How do you respond to Allison Dubois BS-Damage-Control PR tour accusing you of editing the Dinner From Hell and misrepresenting the way it went down - With Faye being the one that started the whole thing, that all the other women were bullying Camile and it was not shown?

BRAVO to BRAVO!!! This is by far , my favorite group of ladies! And husbands too. I watched Atlanta last night and my oh my , those women are ghetto. I even watched the OC last week and they seem so cheap. I am ruined and spoiled now that I have seen the BH ladies. Everything about the show is perfect. Sure, they are not your average housewives but they are so likeable and not what I expected . Thank you ladies for letting us into your lives and homes. What a great escape on Thursday night!

I just want to know why Kyle finds alright to be so mean to Kim and say you are not my sister in NY when Kim wouldn't come to her rescue? Which I might add if Kim did start talking Kyle would have told her shut up. When Kim tries to defend herself (dinner from hell party w/ Taylor) It's all Kim's fault??? I really do hope Kyle has looked at the way she has treated her sister and changes that!

I do realize Kim seems a little airy and out there at times, but I still don't like watching someone be-little someone all the time. just sayin'

Hope this is one of the questions during the Reunion shoe!!

My boyfriend and I think that it would be a great idea to do "Real Housewives of the Sea" and have all cast to take a cruise and see how all of the cast (from the different cities) get along. I also think that you should do a Real Housewives of the Army", from what I understand there is a lot of drama that goes on Military bases.

You are not dreaming i record all the shows and you are right kyle did ask about the hawaii trip, and taylor was the one talking about camile calling her insecure

Who are Camille's favorite clothing designers? She has a great style. I love the cable knit pink sweater she was wearing at her house.

I have been mesmorized by these women! I think Lisa & Adrianne would be my favorite ladies and Taylor as they seem to understand that they have it alot better than others and do events for charities. Plus I just plain like LIsa & Ken! Kyle is strong willed but I think that is due to raising children. Kim seems always to be lost I almost feel sorry for her.Camille, well without being cruel I don't think she deserves 50 million; if it were up to me it would be a dollar. .. and her friend Nick plantonic???? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm And by the way this is the FIRST Housewives series I ever watched.. and it is because there are so many different personality that it reeled me in.

I don't think you will answer this, as my questions or comments seem to never ever make it on BUT...... I am either dreaming about the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills or something has been changed from two of the eposides from when they originally aired! Please verify if I am dreaming (aka lost my mind) or was something changed and why (If Bravo will admit it) but during the Las Vegas episode when it originally aired, didn't Bravo show the conversatino between Kyle and Camile where she asked her about her spring break? Also, on the episode where the ladies were in New York, didn't the original episode show Taylor telling Camile that they ladies had talked about her at the airport and it was said she was insecure? Whats gonig on?

This is my favorite franchise of all. New York second Atlanta third Jersey and O.C I could see all characters changed. I hope Adrienne stays. I have come to enjoy Adrienne and Paul immensely. They have that interaction that you can't explain. However it works!!

Does anyone know who is the apparel designer whose signature seemingly is a rosette neckline which is frequently worn by both Lisa & Adrienne? Thank you!

You're blog adds a very different perspective and great insight on the ladies and the show. This group of housewives is by far my favorite!

Dave, Are the BH Housewives contractually obligated to interact for the sake of the show?

jerianne

I like the episodes on the gals favorite charities. I liked that on Real Housewives of New York and this new series in Beverly Hills. Looking at all the Housewives series there seems to be a balance of good vs catty women. That keeps things interesting and in real life that seems to be the case. That is why I have friends that I keep separate and have different careers. It seems if there is a circle of friends, people have to take sides when there is a difference of opinion. The situation on the New Jersey series got way out of control when the police had to be involved. Hope never to view any more of that criminal element with the rest of the Housewives. We need more TV shows that show strong roll models; young/old, gay/straight. different religions. So often viewers believe everything they see is ok and end up in serious trouble for similar actions. We need to stress calm conflict resolutions, good deeds and a sense of responsibility.

I have a question for the reunion. Do Lisa and Ken still own any bars/clubs in London? Or is Villa Blanca and Sur the only current restaurant ventures that they have now?

I love reading the blogs every week and really appreciate that all of the women are blogging about the show and not selling their products.

My Question is - Can you please start the epsiode with the date? Knowing that Camille filed for divorce in June, I constantly find myself thinking, okay how much longer till the obvious happens.

Not just the Camille line in general, but it would help to follow exactly how many days went by between the NY trip and the dinner with Allison Dubois. (Gotta say, was a Medium fan till I saw that wretch of a woman)

Just my 2 cents - Thanks!!

I definitely want to thank you for blogging as well. I absolutely love the different POV that you bring to the table and behind the scenes info that we get. On a different note, I think there should be a show, or series of shows, that interview camera people and crew on all types of reality shows to get the dirt and insider info or unseen clips. Though I'm sure there's all sorts of confidentiality agreements that might block that. Though, maybe Bravo could do that for their shows only. Kind of a bloopers, never before seen clips, behind the scenes show. I would love that and I'm sure others would to. Also, a question for the reunion...If Camille & Kyle were talking about vacation, why would the sentence come up "Why would people care about you if Kelsie wasnt there?" They werent talking about a red carpet, they were talking about a vacation...which just goes to show in my mind that Camille definitely took the conversation in another direction.

Really? No consensus to who is in the wrong about the Kyle-Camille feud? What comments/blogs are you reading? Are you just saying that to try to make Camille feel better so she'll come back next season? I'm sure you're aware of what a huge ratings draw she is. Whether the attraction is loving her, or loving to hate her, people tune in to see her.
