Onwards We Go

Lisa shares her thoughts on Taylor's tough issues, expanding her business, and what she learned watching the other ladies this week.

Sep 20, 2011

So this week we return to Colorado and continue to see Taylor dealing with some tough issues. We all tried to be supportive. We tried our utmost to understand.

It was troubling to witness, and I felt a lot of empathy towards her and what we now know to be an extremely difficult situation.

I found the whole trip exhausting, so when we returned home, I just felt relieved to flop back into my blanket of security, with my husband and getting back to the serious business of snogging the Gigster -- for which I am highly criticized!

I heard that the premises next door to one of my existing restaurants Sur was possibly available for sale. I knew there was potential for another restaurant to take it, and I was desperate to convince my husband to support my choice and venture forward into another business plan -- a bar with a little gem of a garden, something so unique in WeHo. it was a very exciting prospect for me. My mind was racing ahead of how I could decorate and transform this empty shell into a sexy space.

Love you, Lisa! You're the best! The voice of reason and balance.

Lisa you are great, how is your son doing?

Lisa, you are awesome! I absolutely love to watch you, and you crack me up all the time! Women's instincts are always right, and you have been on the money with your thoughts on of of the girls. Don't be fooled! ps. Kiss Giggy all you want! Dogs love the attention!

I just adore you lisa & you keep kissing giggy all you want...

Vanderfabulous is Back!!! This is why we love you Lisa. A well written and thoughtout blog. You say what you mean and you mean what you say. Enjoy reading your blog and takes on the episodes. Best of luck this season and your business ventures! Xo to Ken :)

I enjoyed you this segment. You seemed to be the voice of reason. Good luck on your new venture.

Lisa you are voice of reason. I love watching you and how you interacted with the lady's. You are a very classy lady.

Love ya Lisa! You're my fav! I like the realationship you & Kyle have w/your husbands.

Lisa, Oh-I think it's fantastic when you see a vision through, so much luck with your new business venture! Was a rough emotional show but nice to see everyone rally for Taylor. It's sad to see her so thin and worn.... Classy, elegant and you try to keep the peace. You're just a gem!!!! LOVE this show b/c of you!

I love you, Lisa! You are definitely a woman of reason and perspective, and quite possibly the only one of the RHOBH who never says anything catty! I love the way you keep it real!

You are the most beautiful woman in Beverly Hills. Everything about you is just perfect. Your house, your closet, your clothes, Giggi, your house's landscape. OMG what happy life.

There is nothing wrong "snogging" with your own puppy... as long as you know where his face has been!

You won't get any criticism from me! Still love you, your Ken, and your Gigster!

HEY LISA HAVE BEEN WATHCHING THE SHOW YOU ARE MY FAVORITE HOUSE WIVES ON THE SHOW HAVE GOOD WEEK FROM MICAH SMITH

Love your no-nonsense attitude. You are one classy lady!

Hi Lisa, I think that you, Ken, and Giggy are an are an adorable pairing! Love your sense of style! I sense something different amongst you and the ladies this season....guess we'll find out what is really going on in later episodes. You are a class act in my book and always shoot it straight from the hip! It's good!

Lisa, Ken, &gigster,

First, I Love all three of you.

Second, keep on keeping your eye on the ball, along with all your ambition.

Thirdly, OyVey! Lisa, you inspire me, tremendously! Thank you.

Not very many women inspire me. One being Diane Sawyer, the other being Lisa Ling (for their utmost bravery in journalism). Well then, between Camille and yourself, you both remind me what it is to be a WOMAN!!!!!! I've been, thankfully, inspired by you both... The two of you are full fledged woman equipped with at times a verbally assaulting weapon, and other times, a clearly well intended...well, you know?! Haha, a well intended verbal knock.

Love Me xoxo.

I'm sorry I have an issue with dogs at the dining table. What you do in your home with your dog is your business but when you were at Adrienne's and the dog was drinking out of Ken's glass I think I would have had a fit!!!!

Lisa go ahead and snoggle with adorable Giggy - you are my favorite!

Lisa, I absolutely think you hold yourself with the utmost grace, integrity and charm and you are such a beautiful person. There are so many "reality" shows out today in which women seem to think the trashier they act, the more attractive they are and that is simply not the case. Thanks for showing everyone what a class act is,that is truly you. Love you, your hubby and adorable giggy. Thank you for having us into your life. It is an amazing treat to see how the wealthy folks live even if just for an hour a week from our living rooms.

Ohhh Lisa you are awesome!!! You and Ken are such a sweet and loving couple!! You aren't just another spoiled Beverly Hills housewife!! The other girls should take notes when you talk. Good luck with Sur Lounge!

You are fabulous through and through! I love your clever comments and witty attitude! Who makes the that beautiful pink strapless dress you wear for the promos? You are stunning in it! Seriously, out of all the housewives, I look forward to watching you the most!

where is giggy's blog? I miss it!

Hi Lisa! You continue to handle the Taylor situation like a real lady. From comments elsewhere on the internet, you are respected for being the only one to call her out on her manipulations. I hope people will lay off Ken for the therapy remarks; he was asked for his opinion and he gave it, and he even tried to take it back. You, Ken and Adrienne are real people. Congrats on Pandora's recent wedding. LAURA S.

You are my favorite--love you, Ken and Giggy (don't listen to the negative people--that dog is adorable!). I, too am an empty-nester and have recently gone back to work. Because of that, I love watching you and how you keep moving ahead, always positive, loving your work and energetic. You are an inspiration and please keep up the good work! By the way, Ken had every right to say what he did about therapy and the ladies need to get over themselves!

Lovely vision for the addition to Sur. It's a delight to see you and your husband work hard, play hard, and love and respect one another.

Lisa, I loved watching you during the walkthrough of the space that now has become Sur Lounge. I could see the wheels turning in your brain as you shared your vision. I find your segments of the show to be the most fun to watch. You work hard but you always seem to have fun with what you do.

This is, by far, my favorite of the Housewives franchise and Lisa is my favorite Housewife of all. She is classy and fun. I love watching her and her family...LOOOOVE Giggy!! :)

I look forward to your blogs. Your loyalties & determination are unmatched. Your dry wit is exceptional. So, did you "take one for the team"?

Hi Lisa, my name is Ruthie I have a Pomeranian doggy, as well and she had the same diease as giggy alopecia. I took her to different vets and dermatologist and they all said there's no cure. Well they wrong I have the remedy and I would love to cure Giggy. Contact me I would love to show you the before and after pics of my Foxy...ruthbatista@ymail.com

I admire your optimism and willingness to take a risk during these uncertain economic times. Good luck with the Sur lounge and garden.

I was sorry to see the beating that you and Ken took in the previous episodes. Stay true to yourselves. And yes, you are correct. At a dinner party, all opinions are welcome as long as no voices are raised and there is no name-calling. It's called a discussion. Ken showed a beautiful example of how it's done, so don't worry about people who don't get it.

You truly are VanderFABULOUS!!! I also think Ken is one amazing man. You are living the dream Lisa! And as far as Giggy goes, he's the sexiest beast int heland. One question....what does "snogging" mean??

Good luck with the Sur Lounge. I am sure it will be beautiful and successful, with you behind it all. You are a joy to watch on the show...absolute best!

Lisa as much as I love seeing you I can't understand why you would be on a show that is clearly throwing you under the bus ,(with Adrianne's help) by bringing in Brandy who is friends with Sedrick. Clearly Bravo is setting you up for drama and I can't understand with your money ,beauty and everything you have going on you would subject yourself to this? Both you and Kyle have beauty and class and respect for your husbands. Adrienne might have money but I cringe everytime I see her talk down to her husband, he should be humiliated watching the way he is treated and disrespected. It is hard to watch.

In watching Kyle, Kim and Taylor interacting it is clear that at times it does seem like a kindergarten trip. That was such an accurate description you made!! Of course this season no one can say anything about Taylor, given her huge problems. It is clear her issues will dominate everything, poor girl.

Congrats on the expansion of Sur! My husband and I face the same opportunity in our business and I don't think we have once regretted moving(pushing) forward to expand. Even in these tough economic times, if the ball gets dropped, you get left behind, and who has time for that. I would rather push forward, make a mistake or two and learn from them but never drop the ball. I did not understand why Ken was attacked for his opinion. He had every right to express it, my gosh, it was a dinner party. It was obvious he was only engaging in conversation and when he gave his opinion, he was attacked. Shame on them for not pointing that out. Much love and best wishes!

You have stayed true to yourself...love watching you and the Gigster... I also have a pom and he rules over all! Thank you for being a voice of reason on this show!!

My husband and I were watching and I could see the garden and I could see your vision. I know you would have it looking beautiful. My husband thinks poor Ken should be able to slow down but he liked the prize option you would give him. You are so funny!

Lisa, I was super proud that you put your differences aside when taylor was having her breakdown, and you were sympathetic and tried to help. I honestly don't know if I would have been so calm if it was my face she was yelling in. I applaud you for keeping your cool and realizing she needed that sympathy.

Lisa, you are heads above the rest of the ladies. I'm so impressed with the manner in which you handle Taylor. I'm disappointed in the way Kyle has changed towards you and Ken since becoming Taylor's friend. You deserve better!

Lisa, You are my favorite (and Teresa from RHONJ). I am so glad you call Taylor on her B.S. I respect you for keeping it real!!! BTW....... KEN IS ENTITLED TO HIS OPINION!!!

Still loving you on the show, Lisa, and after watching the last episode, respect you even more. This is a most difficult time for all the ladies of RHOBH, and it is amazing to see the true concern you have for Taylor during her breakdown in Beaver Creek, despite whatever differences were between the two of you from the first season. In this trying, emotional episode, your true character comes through in a strong, supportive and genuinely compassionate manner.

do you not think that iggy could stay home by himself sometimes? i do not find it a good idea to take your dog to a person's home for diiner and then drink from their champagne glass. talk about class?

Lisa don't let unconstructive comments bother you. You are one of a kind lady and as one keep your kool in check. Let kyle learn her lesson on her own.

Lisa....you have it all. Count your blessings girlfriend because you certainly deserve all that you have!

I love the HWBH Lisa you are my favorite but I like all the ladies. I enjoy watching what you are going to wear. I would love to have that white ski jacket with the fur...I sew but can't find a pattern like that...I know if you told me where to buy it from I would not be able to afford it. Like the show.

I love you Lisa! You are the epitome of elegance and class. Please don't change. You have a wonderful family.

Lisa:

Everybodyapparently likes a person who seems "to have it all." You are getting a lot of comments about how classy you are. However, your having "it all" may make you less understanding when others are going through trials. Taylor is clearly going through a trial. You seem to think that she is playing the victim and being manipulative. It's distruptive to your fun. I am sure that you have had trials in your life, but you certainly have not gone through domestic abuse and divorce. I think you need to try to understand and empathize more with others who have less and who are going through tough times.
