Tethered Together

Lisa explains her relationship with Taylor, Ken's comments, and the trip to Colorado.

Well hello and welcome to Season 2.

There are no words that can diminish the pain and devastation felt by the entire cast after the tragic death of Russell Armstrong. The unexpected shock thrust upon us just as we were reaching the finishing post of Season 2, the exhausting journey that we had muddled through, many times at odds with each other, but ultimately an unspoken, unanimous bond that tethered us together, as we navigated our way through the troubled waters of this really, real reality show.

I personally was at a loss for words. How could this have happened? How could we have foreseen this tragedy that would leave a trail of emotional and financial debris in its path?

Fatherless children, Taylor -- although recently separated, but still connected to a man with whom she had spent many years and bore his child, uncertain of her future and emotionally overwrought at the sheer brutality at which he chose to end his life.

So the journey and ever evolving dynamics between the women started. Last week, we addressed the suicide so you the viewer could understand the place we were all in now and rewound the clock six months ago.

Taylor and I have never had an easy relationship. I always wondered what the real story was. I didn't believe the fifty thousand dollar children's birthday parties and the huge investments she talked of in Season 2 and was never sure if I was receiving an accurate picture or one that was manifested for appearances, so I always was skeptical and kept my distance.

As this story slowly unfolds you will see how we managed, a few months ago, to resolve our differences and become really close. I am thankful for that so I can honestly at this difficult time, be supportive to her. Life is strange how things often work out, that is why reality shows can be so compelling. Expect the unexpected.

This week we embarked on a ski trip, and as you saw we for the most part had a wonderful time. I vehemently defended my husband who made the faux pas of saying he didn't believe in therapy for himself at dinner previously. I think most of us have been at a dinner when your partner is spouting of a controversial statement and you just want to jump across the table and say, "Nooooo. . ." Too late, it's out there. Anyway I was slightly peeved at Kyle for bringing up the subject when we were trapped in a car for four hours! Ultimately I think the girls understood that it was his opinion and he apologized to Taylor shortly after, as he hadn't realized how sensitive she was. Anyway, moving on. . .

The house was beautiful and it was a much needed break, bittersweet for Camille as she knew this was probably the last time she would be there, in that house that was full of happier times in their marriage. But as we all know life throws us curve balls and we have to catch them regroup and go forward.

As we close out this episode we see Kyle and Taylor in the jacuzzi and the intimate discussion between the two. You have to remember that we see only just a few days before you what has taken place, what the others have filmed. It has been extremely difficult for all concerned and my heart goes out to the family and loved ones.
