Moves Like Grammer

Episode 15: Bravotv.com’s Associate Editor slips on her fingerless gloves and gets to knitting in honor of this week's episode.

Camille. Grammer. Dancing.

Honestly, I’m almost miffed that it took us 15 episodes to get to this -- this moment where we see Camille letting loose in "da club." Since she first shook her way into our hearts in Season 1 (and then in her more amazing Bat Mitzvah video showcased on WWHL), I've found myself enamored with the Donatacci dance. And finally, this season took mercy on us and provided her signature writhing.

But of course, Camille wasn't the only one shaking it this week. Brandi brought her boot to the dance floor, and the men of Chippendales did what they do best -- terrify and excite all at the same time. Plus there were plenty of other gems in this episode (i.e. people breaking expensive things! Dogs stuck in pajamas!). What happens in Vegas is recapped here. . .

Delegaters, Mount Up
Paul and Adrienne head off to appear on The Doctors to discuss their busy, yet fulfilling lifestyles.  But Paul hasn't eaten -- because, as Adrienne explained via delegation, it's Bernie's job to feed him. I'm not sure where Bernie was but by the time Paul got to the set, I think he could have eaten one of the smaller doctors. The man was famished. He needed a snack, and really who amongst us doesn't? (Editor's note: feel free to take this opportunity to go fix a snack. Ill wait.) I appreciate a man with an appetite, particularly one who doesn’t deny himself the finer things in life – like cupcakes and chocolate-covered treats -- while waiting to appear on a show about healthy lifestyles. Dr. Paul Nassif, every day you wiggle your way more and more into my heart.

Say Yes to the Dress (All of Them)
Meanwhile, Lisa and Pandora go off to try on wedding dresses (the wedding is really happening you guys!) and Giggy gets himself into a little bit of trouble.

I hate to take joy from the struggles of others (schadenfreude) but that was the most adorable entrapment I’ve ever seen. Anyway, Pandora tries on a plethora of dresses, and I downright got almost misty. Weddings! All of the dresses were so flouncy and romantic, and this is before Pandora got to add her additional flowers. This wedding is really going to bring it – even if Lisa refuses to wear a big pink ball gown.

People Dropping Things
Again schadenfreude, but people dropping expensive things is always good for a laugh. So when a large, and gorgeous chandelier was lost in the hand-off between Faye, Kyle, and a poor shopkeeper, I could barely contain myself.

real-housewives-of-beverly-hills-season-

Frankly if Giggy had been doing his "I'm stuck in my pajamas breakdance" at the same time, you probably would have needed to get me an oxygen mask. It was just too much.

Even with the broken baubles, Kyle managed to get things in order for her book cover photo shoot. Following in the footsteps of Sonja Morgan, she climbs right up on top of her dining table to take some photos. Unfortunately, Kim isn’t there to help her hurdle over the dining room chairs. Roxy does however get a guest spot, eating some of her own cheese, as does Portia, wearing a crown. Why is this episode trying to destroy me with cuteness? Weddings, dog pajamas, babies in crowns. . . and, of course, "chipmunks."

Vegas Baby
Over a heartfelt lunch with Lisa, Taylor explains the beach blanket bingo that was Brandi's party. But remedy awaits, as Lisa's bringing her along to Vegas for the big bachelorette party as part of Taylor's birthday.

Meanwhile Adrienne makes it to Vegas -- just in time to stop her brother from holding hands with a Playboy bunny. Soon after Dana, Brandi, Camille, and Dedra arrive at the Palms -- and start bowling. Yes, no big deal, the suite also has a bowling alley. So Camille bowls in heels and Brandi bowls in her boot, like that’s not strange at all. They do surprisingly well, particularly because of Dana's extremely encouraging words ("You're so thin and hot."). Also during this endeavor Dana is wearing a diamond lollipop holder valued at $1 million dollars. The last time I went bowling, we drank a pitcher of Bud heavy and, as a group, were all wearing the same shoes. I am never hanging out with my friends again.

Meanwhile, the Pandora party arrives at the Chippendales show. . .In a rare case of things exceeding your expectations this scene was even better than I could have ever imagined. Lisa Vanderpump discussed "cock socks" and how long it would take to knit something like that. And then, once the show itself commenced, the gyrating -- oh dear lord -- so much gyrating on couches. If you can bear it, hang tight to see Lisa, Pandora, and Taylor show the men how it is done.

I think Taylor said it best when she described her reaction as half-terrified and half thrilled.

Also warranting that sort of a response was the other ladies getting their groove on at Planet Hollywood. And I mean groove on, turned-to-11 on. Exhibit A:

There was a lot of fingerless glove-touching going on. I think we can firmly say that Camille is on Team Brandi.

Back in Beverly Hills, Kyle ran into Kim, only to find her sister is not exactly in the best place with Ken and the kids, explaining her absence from Vegas. Here's hoping her kids come around.

Next week, more parties and more drama. But for now let's keep focusing on the dance. Which dance moves did you prefer? Chippendales or Camille's? Leave your vote in the comments.

Brandi: Someone Poked the Wrong Bear

Brandi thinks Lisa Rinna shouldn't be surprised by Kim's reaction.

Hello Bravo Peeps,

Tonight I’m finally home in L.A. with my family!
I can’t tell you how nice it is to just slow down for a while. My mind is on recipes and new kids' projects this week. When I catch up, I will for sure share a recipe.

Tonight’s episode starts with a really fun event created by Yolanda: a scavenger hunt. Not just any scavenger hunt, but a Beverly Hills scavenger hunt on Rodeo Drive. Well, hey, it’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, so why not? I personally thought it was a welcome change and a chance to have some fun and share it with the fans. Despite Yo’s health, she is a really positive, uplifting spirit, and I’m thankful she brings fun to our group.

Yo hired experts to make sure we all had a great time and made thoughtful shirts to make everyone feel special. A brilliant move by Yo was having the teams chosen by the company, so no high school clique nonsense. The theme was team building, being positive, working together, and putting aside petty differences. As Yo said, “It was a bonding activity.”

Firstly, I think Yo’s idea was great and a success for those who participated wholeheartedly. I give a pass to Kim, who was still a trooper but was still experiencing some knee and hernia pain. Protecting your knees is serious if you have joint issues, and she was smart to pace herself as tendon injuries can last for months. The others? Well, you saw what I saw. Sadly, I saw a lot of negativity, complaining, petty, unnecessary jabs, and criticizing their own teammates for physical issues they can’t control. Quotes from one of our ladies: “I hate clues, I hate the game, I hate the whole thing.” She followed this by shooting the bird at Yo. Nice.

On the other hand, I had fun; I love the sun, games, clues, and getting outside. I’d love to participate in other games or lighthearted competitions on RHOBH. Also, how fun was it to see a healthy Camille? She looked great, was sweet, cheerful, and a good sport. Shoutout to Camille for beating cancer with such grace.

The prize for participating in the fun or awful day, depending on which Housewife we’re talking about, was a paid luxury trip to Amsterdam! Some of us had also accepted an invitation to David Foster's charity event in Calgary. Not sure about the rest of you, but a trip to see Yo’s homeland with Yo is and was an amazing gift. Some people say, “Planes and yachts are not important,” but they don’t own planes or yachts, so we kinda know, to them, they are very important. Me? I am thankful for the Fosters' generosity but would be just as happy riding old bicycles down a dirt road with a healthy strong Yo.

Which brings us to David Foster. David is many things--Canadian, composer, songwriter, Grammy winner, and Yo’s love--but he is also a generous philanthropist. So, I’d like to give kudos where they are due. The David Foster Foundation’s Miracle Gala and Concert raised $8.2 million in one night to help Canadian families with children undergoing pediatric organ transplants. On the fun side, we were lucky enough to see Jennifer Hudson, Jackie Evancho, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Brett Kissel, Sinbad, and legendary rocker Steven Tyler. Great charity, great trip, great night.

To me, announcing you’re 'a nice person' isn’t the same as actually being a nice person.

Brandi Glanville

On the dramatic side, someone poked the wrong bear. We saw Kim slowly learning that someone has had one-on-one talks about her private life with everyone on RHOBH--everyone, that is, but Kim herself. To me, announcing you’re “a nice person” isn’t the same as actually being a nice person.

Yep, one new member of our little group is hell-bent on intruding, casting strong labels, making insanely irresponsible assumptions and stating them as facts, all over the place: on RHOBH, the Internet, to the media, and on Bravo’s WWHL. Calmly butting into a stranger's life with such a strong agenda and absolutely zero knowledge of any details of that life after only a few scattered social functions is a whole new level of crossing boundaries. Then, tonight, acting all wide-eyed, innocent, and confused at the results after doing so? To quote the instigator, “Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs." On another note, or maybe the same note (boundaries), it’s probably not a good idea to announce your spouse’s previous alcoholism before he does it himself. But maybe he was OK with that, and I’m wrong. Well, in any case, sincere congrats on three years of sobriety.

Kim Richards was a movie star when most of us were home watching her movies on TV after school and doing our homework. She’s been in this town a long time, knows everyone, worked since she was born, raised four children, survived Hollywood, sobriety, family, divorces, deaths, has more on her plate than all of us, and throughout it all, is caring for her terminally ill ex-husband with patience and grace. Sometimes you poke the wrong bear; that’s all I’m saying. Good luck with that.

So, on to Amsterdam. We’re taking RHOBH fans to the Netherlands. I can promise more drama and insanity but really hope you get to see some of Yolanda’s homeland, meet her wonderful family, and enjoy it as much as I did, when I could.

See you next week and enjoy the Netherlands. Maybe Google where we’re going and learn more about Yo’s hometown of Papendrecht, Netherlands. It’s right outside of Amsterdam and truly beautiful.

Please check out the incredible work of the David Foster Foundation: http://davidfosterfoundation.com

My day just got busy, so I’m signing off.

Mom duty calls!

XOXO,

B
