Episode 10: Bravotv.com's Associate Editor applauds Lisa's impersonation skills, Kyle's muffin top, and the visiting spirits.

Nov 4, 20110

Welcome to the Recap of Beauty. Here we don't have minor surgical procedures, but we do have a full breakdown on this episode and my telling you that you look pretty. Almost the same thing as Paul's Night of Beauty, really.
Anyway, let's channel the spirits of this episode’s séance and recap, shall we?

My Muffin Top is All That
Like all great episodes we begin with a muffin top, as Kyle shows Paul her love handles in hopes that they can be eradicated at his "Night of Beauty." This reminded me, of course, of my second all-time favorite fictitious 30 Rock song, "Muffin Top." ("Werewolf Bat Mitzvah" will always be first.) I understand Kyle being nervous to show off her muffin top, but I'm sure it's "all that, whole-grain, and low-fat," just like Jenna Maroney's.

Those with a categorical knowledge of Housewives procedures will recognize the muffin top machine from RHOA's Kim's laser pizza procedure. It's nice to see the technology is prevalent on both coasts, and even better to see someone using it while not noshing one a few slices in the process.

The rest of the ladies have a few nips and snips as well -- with Lisa and Taylor continuing their troubled relationship. Lisa tries to bring up Russell's email, but Taylor's off in a hurry, so they'll save that tussle for another day.

And then, Kim Richards arrives, after having her consult with Paul from the car. I'll get to her excuses about not attending the séance shortly, but needless to say she and Kyle aren't exactly acting like Casper the Friendly Ghost to each other.
Before they get to work (and Kim kicks Kyle out for being too motherly), Kim and Paul discuss her current medications, and how she feels being sober. Honestly, it was really touching to see Kim speak about her sobriety, and it’s great to know that she’s in a good place.

There's a reason why I haven't been reading the blogs from this season-- you should have a comedian blog about RHOBH like Jay Mohr did for New Jersey. These gals are dynamic in person, but they do not write interesting blogs!

The only blog from Kim has been on Twitter, and I do not recall seeing her doing any pre-season publicity. Am I wrong to assume she has parted ways with the show and will not be returning next year?

i also want to know why kim does not blog.maybe no one has shown her how .( i am not being mean when i say this), not everyone (even these days) knows how to use a computer.

I am so sick of Taylor's whining about Lisa I can hardly stand it. And it seems Taylor has Russell and Brandi in her corner as she works on getting Kyle there. Where does Taylor get off blaming all her problems on Lisa? Taylor needs to work on Taylor and get off Lisa's back. As much as I felt bad for Taylor at the beginning off the season, I'm right back to were I was when the 1st season ended. Taylor is Trouble with a capital "T"

This episode was really a nice break from the drama! Kim looks happy, discussed her anxiety prescriptions which explains her unusual behavior, and actually stood up to Kyle (Yeay!!). The seanace was funny, especially when they mentioned Allison and no one yelled at each other. Taylor has the same funny expression each time she is confronted with something she does not want to discuss. She smiles with her lips closed and knods her head a little and anyone that knows her must be able to tell she's hidding something. Lisa can't be the only one that notices her secretive side. I think its a good idea for Taylor not to blog because the onslaught of negative comments for her behavior this season would really be hard to handle when dealing with the tragic loss of her husband. But Kim....she needs to step up to the plate!

If you go back to last season, Lisa has continued to seek out truth from Taylor and offer her heart and wisdom and help. Taylor has consistently blocked her efforts and now distorts this as Lisa being an aggressor or unfriendly. Why has Taylor always put up a wall with Lisa? I feel it is because she senses that Lisa cannot be conned and she is terrified to be truthful with her - even though this could have given her the best friend and ally should would ever know. That shield she set up, started the cascade. Blocking and blocking Lisa's genuine concern, of course, did not allow the friendship to flourish and grow and deepen. Then Taylor complains that Lisa is not her friend. I think the problem is with how Taylor defines "friends". She wants to present a facade and all friends will recieve it at face value. A real friendship is something she cannot fathom. It's like someone describing love who has never known it. Very sad for her. Lisa - Don't change. Some people just aren't ready yet and sadly may never be....

In your summation of the episode, you left out when Kyle turned on her most loyal friend, Lisa, and unfairly said that Lisa prays on the weak. Lisa has had Kyle's back all last season and this one, so it's hard to believe that Kyle would say something like that - although given the increasing number of characters flaws she has revealed this season, maybe it's not.

WHY, oh, WHY doesn't Kim blog????? The few entries are all from 2010! Yikes. She NEEDS to get her view point across & the fans get to know the blogging "wives" much better. By her silence a very vital part of the Housewives experience is missing.

Nice re-cap. TOTALLY agree, Lisa's hidden talents were enJoYable. ? 4 U...WHY DOESN't Kim have a blog (all her entries, 2010). It's almost unfair of her not getting her point of view out & defending Herself when needed. The other "wives" can all correct or explain their situation but we are missing a lot without a blog from Kim. Isn't it in her contract? Just wondering.

Correction: Kim didn't kick Kyle out - -she merely corrected her for using the disapproving mother voice and Kyle got her feathers ruffled and walked out (instead of apologizing, of course).

Am watching the mini-marathon of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills & a KY commercial came on featuring 2 women, in a relationship, and I am so pleased to see different couples featured, including a lesbian couple, in advertising. Yet another reason my TV is always turned onto Bravo- I love how real, diverse people are featured in all facets of programming- Well done, Bravo!

Tonight's show was great! No fighting , (only a little bickering). That's the type of show I've been waiting to see. I'm so proud of all of the ladies for being somewhat nicer to each other. It makes me feel so much better about everyone. Keep pulling together and building your friendships. You all made an effort to act how true friends are supposed to. Thank you for not hurting my feelings tonight.
