Wow, what a ride. I don't even know where to start. Well, yes I do –- I apologize that this blog is seriously late. Work and life have been more than a little crazy these days, and that's all I'm going to say about that. Catching up quickly, here are my impressions of all of the ladies prior to next week's reunion.
Michaele seemed to try to deflect the fact no one remembered her as a Redskins Cheerleader by saying she had asked the organization to help her lie about her age. She stated more than once that she paid alumni dues for the last 5 years, and I have no doubt she did. That doesn't necessarily mean she was ever a cheerleader, just that she joined the alumni organization. Deflection was also used by Tareq over Dinnergate –- while Tareq said in the Bravo Clubhouse that he felt vindicated watching this episode, I wasn't aware that they were ever accused of giving false names or hurdling fences in black tie. Over and over we've heard, in time, everything will come out. When is that time? Time is running out, I think!
I've really enjoyed watching Stacie search for her birth father, and was really happy to see in the finale crawl that she has found him. Does anyone want to know whether running the license plate in the photo of her dad we saw last week helped? Don't know why I'm fixated on that, but no matter. Regardless of whatever future relationship Stacie and her biological father may have, knowing is better than not knowing, and I wish her the best for the meeting-to-come. She and Jason seem to have their heads on straight, and I've enjoyed getting to know a little bit about them on-screen.
I was not going to watch this show and only started because nothing else on tv but I must say I am very intrigued by this group. I think most of them have a lot of class and behave appropiately. Good Luck
Alex, you double posted-Reality Check- you've posted that back in Aug, 30th already. What are you trying to say?? LOL
As usual, well said, Alex. I seriously think that you, Bethenny, Cat, and I could be best friends. If the Salahis really thought they were invited to "Dinnergate" (awesome, by the way) then why not just apologize for the confusion/misunderstanding. There has to be some flicker of accountability for them to be the least bit credible and that is stretching it. This cast took me a while to warm up to, but a very interesting season to say the least. Can't wait for my NY ladies to hit the scene again (minus a much loved Bethenny of course). Hello to Simon and the boys!
Hi Alex, I must admit, in the first season I wasn't real sure about you, but you have shown that you have a good head on your shoulders since. I love your insight and realism with guest blogging. You seem to keep the details on reality and not the make believe that some want you to go along with. Anywho, thanks.
Alex, As usual, you are such a delight to read! You add that extra special viewpoint to each new "Housewives" installation - smart, sensitive and funny.
Glad to have you back! I agree - you can't seem to get a straight answer out of the Salahi's. Instead they deflect or hide behind their attorneys. Hopefully, more will be revealed during the reunion but if they stay true to form we won't know much more after than we knew before. I do hope you blog on the ATL Housewives - I enjoy your commentary. All the best!
I am so with you! I didn't love Cat at first but I think it's because I recognize some of my own insecurities and anger that comes out in her sometimes inappropriate statements. But she isn't mean, she doesn't actually want to hurt people, I think it all comes from a place of vulnerability. So it hurts, really hurts to see the pain and anger as they turned on each other. I feel for her.
Love you Alex!! Spot on as usual. I would rather believe the Salahis, but unfortunately they dance around questions SO MUCh as you mentioned and I just can't make myself believe a word. Can't wait for RHONY!!
Alex - I'd love to go have drinks with you myself....would love to include Cat too. Wouldn't that be a great evening? Love your blogs!!!
Hi Alex, I really really can't stand those Salahi's. The only thing keeping me from going insane thinking about them is that people like you are trying to explain to everyone what liars they are. Thank You.
Love you and miss you. Can;t wait for RHONY. Also was very happy to read that Kelly and Jill will only be part timers. How great is that?
I would get off the DC girls train...they are what you have called the "mean girls"! They have no class setting up others to take them down further. Alex I am ashamed of you...have you forgotten already how it feels? Cat can dish it but she can't take it...and she sure plays the blame game. Making fun of Sarah Palin was not a good idea. I would suggest she remember she is on TV next time. Cat has a big mouth. Blaming the show for her divorce is not a good idea either. There is not one lady on the show I like.
What a beautiful blog! Alex, you articulated everything I was feeling as the DC season came to a close. Thank you for saying it so well. I look forward to seeing you on the new season of RHNY.
Enjoyed reading your blog and insight. You brought up some good points as always. The reunion show will hopefully answer more questions that we have that haven't been answered yet.
Hope all is going well with your family and that you are enjoying the beautiful fall weather. I always loved this time of year and with children it is great fun to get them ready for trick or treat.
@ViewerCarrie Cat never blamed the show for her divorce. Other people have speculated the show caused the problems in their marriage. When in reality it was many things
Alex-I always enjoy your blogs. I have been watching the original RHOOC that has been airing on NBC during the day time, and am struck by how different the Housewives started out. None of the gang mentality mean girl stuff like there is now. Even the reunion was very different. No big catfights, just discussion about the experience affected them, what they took from it, even how they were going to change their parenting. I think it is time to bring the shows back towards how they started. The last NJ season was just too much, i won't be watching them again.
Wow...this batch of DC chicks makes your NY look a tad better! Please tell BRAVO that the mean girls are taking away from the show. Cat, Lynda and Mary have become the Jill, Kelly and Lou Lou! I'm so sick of watching a few take away other's happy! They have no right! BRAVO needs to come out with more positive show's like BGM?....Please! Hope all is well with Simon and your children.
Alex - I love you on the show, however one piece of advice - watch out for Jill. She will surely come after you like she did Bethanny, especially after the reunion show. She is a typical New Yorker and I am so glad I don't live there. You are a good person and she is not. Love to Simon and the kids. Can't wait to see the next season.
This is the only time I've found you to be wrong in your blog. I've always loved you and look forward to seeing you again in your upcoming season. Have you forgotten about the bullying you received at the hands of the other NY housewives? In particular Jill?? Michaele did not deserve what she received at the hands of the DC housewives at the reunion shows. It was horrible to watch, and I had to look away much of the time to in order not see the hatred and vitriol spewing from the mouths of the three women sitting on the other side. You've been at the mercy of the NY housewives, so it bewilders me that you are unable to see the same kind of things towards Michaele (I won't mention Tareg). Their constant eye rolling, spewing of hateful words made them look descipable -- people that I would never want in my lives. I'm in disbelief that you would align with them.
Hi Alex, It has been awhile since I've checked your blog but once again, you are on the dot. Cat is a beautiful, highly intelligent and hilarious woman. I have found myself thinking that you and she would get along very well. It did not surprise me that you would like to get to know her better. I like the DC wives in a way that I have not liked the other franchises. While I remain a true fan of yours, I stopped watching any of the shows when they fell to back stabbing and cruel gossip. You and Bethenny are always exactly whom you are and Ramona has grown tremendously along the way. It is one thing to have always been fair minded and non-judgmental and quite another to have a true growth spurt in the realm of spirituality for all to observe. I like the renewed Ramona and am happy for her beautiful daughter to be of witness to it. It is, to my mind, a very authentic change. You and Simon are unique and stay true to yourselves and express yourselves so clearly. I don't find myself thinking that you both are disinterested in becoming complete people and you keep your children in a very realistic place. I hope that you and Cat will find an opportunity to have some events to share and you'll be able to know one another. My kinda girls! Hope you're having a wonderful season with the family, Candace10
