Cat talks about her falling out with Charles and explains her comments about the Salahis.

Oct 8, 2010

Where was I when the news broke? In Miami for what was supposed to be a nice "family" weekend. It was a total disaster. We had calls at 8 am before we left from WH asking who the hell Barbie and Plumpy Ken were (wearing, as always, an I'll fitting suit). Great start to our Thanksgiving but then nothing on what the WH and SS were suffering five hundred fold to us. So weekend ruined. Charles' super sized, petulant, spoiled brat behavior throughout Thanksgiving, sadly involving the girls, resulted in "Nightmare on South Beach."

So I'm cutting and peeling potatoes whilst he sits drowning his sorrows. And so much for that "shopping at Sak's all day" comment? LOL! In two years the only item I brought from there was the leather jacket I'm wearing in the final scene. I usually shop at consignment shops. I'm not a big spender, plus I LOVE vintage clothes. My wedding dress (for the registry) cost $30! I was just end of the line with everything, including my husband. The end of the road. No support, just criticism. Still can't get over how under pressure I looked! So unhappy. Weight of the world on my shoulders.com. Goodbye Charles. It wasn't just the knives that weren't cutting it for me. As Lynda said, high time to press delete.

I watched the Salami's on their way to The White House and realized that Tareq was absolutely wetting himself! Maybe even supporting a grown man's incontinence pad underneath those tight pants. Truly. He was so nervous. Why? They didn't even get the time to crash right! " We could have got Stacie and Jason an invitation too." What are you on? How many spares where there, and which email address did they come from? BTW the real invitations where exquisite.

"Filthy." How many times did I say that in the final episode? Jeeeeez. When looking at the thesaurus I could have used any other great words, but then thats just plain bitchy. Thus I just stuck with "plastic not fantastic." For all of you who think Im nasty and full of hate for them, I'm not, but bare in mind being around them is very toxic (hence my remarks). I'm very protective over my friends and family to whom they caused much damage, so it was impossible to hold my tongue. So many people suffered as a result of their actions.

What? No comments for Cat??

Hey Cat, I don't care what anyone says, I LIKE YOU. And I think you are the most stylish of the group!

I think you are just FAB>>> Keeping it real is the everyone should be. Good Luck God Bless, and give the a hug for me they have a great mom ,you have done a great job with . Cheers.

glad you stand up for yourself and what you truly know to be disguisting...at first i thought i would not be able to bear you, but in the finale episode you won me over...take care...good luck

Kat, I really did not get you at first, but from the moment you yelled into Stacie's phone, Tareq is it safe for us to come up.. speaking of the winery, I got you, and I love the way you speak your mind. I love how you love and mother those little girls. To bad about your husband but you can't keep a good woman down without her standing her ground. Good for you. Many blessing to you and your girls A Fan

Cat, I can't get enough of you. I think you're great. wish i could be as straightforward as you sometimes.

You have grown on me Kat, and i like the new softer, kinder more real you. Sooooo sorry to hear about all the woes that were going on behind the scenes. Though I agree with totally on the Salahis and their odd behavior...I do have to say part of me feels bad for them. I know you cannot stand them and have your right to feel this way, but ever consider just throwing caution to the wind and decided to be civll instead of bashing them? Just a thought, I dont' expect Lynda to take part in such a brave move, but I could see you being strong enough to do that, thus setting an example for the others. I hope you find happiness, love and all the good things in life. You, I know under that brash facade are a sweet and giving person.

I just love you, Cat. The show would have been unwatchable without you. I will say I am British and I have had to fight for us Brits in every forum and blog. So, here I am a stranger to you and I have fought for your good name wherever I could. Thanks for making sure my debating skills are up-to-date.

Love it. What a nice breath of fresh air on the show and in DC in general--someone who doesn't hold back and tells it like it is. Why hide behind some faux "graciousness" and waste precious moments in life? You did the right thing...good riddance to bad rubbish.

I lived in that godforsaken swamp for 13 years...11 too long. What a fake bore it is. NYC is more your town, baby!

Keep being you...YOU are the only "real" 1 on that show!!!

Cat, I honestly wish you all the best in your new journey!! I know how difficult divorce can be and you seem to be doing okay. I can only imagine how hard it was for you to be in the same room as "them" after having your invitation taken back. I have a bad Irish temper and I don't know if I could have handled myself as well as you did. I can't wait for the reunion, PLEASE go hard at them - they deserve it!! Best of luck to you and the girls!! Please post Bravo, not one of my comments have been sent her way and she needs to see this!

I think you are great! I salute you because you were the only one to stand up to the Salahis and their nonsense. I can not believe there are people that can not see through their "plastic."

Cat,

You're so fantastic and not plastic! As a transplanted Washingtonian living in Los Angeles, I'm digging your honesty. Never fake it girlfriend!

Much luck and success to you and your girls.

well...well said Cat. After watching this season of DC you happen to be the only 'Housewife of DC' I like...hope all is well with you!!

Cat- You're awesome, I adore you. I cannot wait for the reunion. I am hopeful that you get a chance to tear the salami's a new one!

At first I did not know what to make of you. Still, the more I get to know you the better I like you. Love women who tell it as they see it, I am one myself. We are often misunderstood or back stabbed but when the chips are down people want to be your friend because they know they can trust you. You are who you are and that is a rare quality. You are beautiful and fun and full of life. You admit when you are wrong and rejoice in your friends good fortune. Keep up the good work at being human and we will keep loving you.

While I don't agree w/the way you've handled every situation, it appears you had a lot going on in your life. I was tickled watching you trying to breathe thru your anger and irritation when they arrived at Stacie's home. Them going on and on about her decor was bizarre. I can't quite figure them out and I'm not sure anyone can. It's like they live in their own little bubble that is so far away from the real world the rest of us dwell in. I hope the best for you and your daughters and Charles as you move on w/your lives.

Seriously? I think I love you! LOL You tell it like it is and don't hold back. What more can anyone ask for? You don't pretend to be something you are not and I love that. Also at least one knows where they stand with you. If there is a second season, I hope and pray the Salami's are gone, and you return.

Keep Moving Forward!!

Cat, you have a ton of fans, you look fabulous, have two gorgeous girls and your health- so keep your head up and move on. I know there are many opportunities out there waiting for you- none of them plastic! :)

Cat, I love you. You're blunt comments were mostly welcome. You are an acquired taste and that's okay. Hope to see you next season.

I loved you from the moment you came on the screen. Bravo, pardon the pun,to you for not backing down to anyone on the show, and staying true to your self. I look forward to seeing more of you.

Love you Cat!!! I hope you will be back next season. So sorry that your marriage ended. You deserve the best.

Cat since you mentioned shopping where did you get that GREAT wrapigan? I loved it so much I ordered plans to knit one up! I loved it, just beautiful. I for one enjoy your sarcasm and humor, matches mine. You can be over the top, sometimes funny, sometimes not, but I know we don't always see the entire picture, just parts. I am sorry your marriage didn't work out. I know how difficult it is to pick up your life, move very far away and then not have life turn out as planned. I hope you find happiness. BTW, your description of TS was spot on and hilarious.

Love, love, love you!

Your not bitter, are you? lol You need not explain your confrontation with the Salahi's. It seems to me it was well deserved. And besides you were the only housewife to confront them instead of b--ching about them behind their backs. Don't get me wrong, I feel just like they do, so they should just tell them, two faces does not become them!

love, love you! sorry you were going through such a hard time with an unsupportive, childish husband. i think you have the courage to say what everyone is thinking, so you always end up getting the blame. glad to hear you're much happier, and going to stay in DC. wishing you and your girls all the best. xox -erin

You are very spot on with your blog Cat! Long live Cat hope to see you in season 2, and hopefully we wont see the salami's lol. Hope you have a fantastic break!

Cat, I think you are great. You are real and honest. Best wishes to you and your daughters. Hope to see you next season.

Aww Cat! It was great getting to know you this season! I am impressed by your strength to press the delete button and move on, too many women, or people in general, do not and suffer because of this lack of strength. I hope others see this and if need be find more courage to press that button! Enjoy your holiday season!

I enjoy your honesty, and I don't find you "very rude" at all. I think you're hilarious and I love that you're just as hard on yourself as you are on everyone else. What a shame that you weren't able to attend the Christmas party - my heart broke for you and the disappointment you faced. Thanks for your fun spin on the show and your great blogs. P.S. Your girls seem like lovely young ladies!

Hey Cat, First off I wanted to say that your great! Even though it might come off as rude to some, I truly admire your ability to speak your mind and stand up for what you believe. I was wondering who made the heart bracelet you often wear? I love it!. Thanks and I cant wait for the reunion! hope you will let the Salahis have it!

You know what, at the beginning of the season i really disliked you and I apologize because I feel like I judged too quickly. Good luck to you and the girls through your difficult time.

Good for you for letting go of someone who cannot appreciate and just enjoy. Why the hell do they always care about where we get our clothes and how much we shop? I too shop at consignment and thrift shops, carry a gucci bag while holding a Louis Vuitton umbrella and all for $3.00 (It's great to live in a wealthy area) and He still asks "Where did you get that? Let me see the credit cards!" I say we have Delete Day! We can all hit delete together! You go girl!

The White House State Dinner party the Salahi's attended seemed to upset & bother you the most out of the Housewives ---- Yet, you're not even American!

How come ??

i think you are great! i am sorry for your troubles with charles, but he was to selfish and well, kind of a cold fish. you deserve better! joy and pain come and go but you will always have your girls...and your self! you inspire me to speak my mind. cheers!

I hope you read this Cat, you're amazing. You're real and tell it like it is. I don't understand why people hate on you for being, well, you. You're a single mother raising two kids and had to endure lot of media attention that most people never have to deal with. And that leather jacket you wore looked fabulous. I hope you go on being you and know that not everybody in America thinks you're racist or a nasty witch. You are a real geniune person and you made watching RHDC a blast. Wish you all the best!

Cat-love you and your honesty. Keep staying true to yourself!!

I really wish you & your girls much love, laughter, good health, & happiness !!

Cat Good blog. I think you're terrific and I wish you and your childen happiness and blessings in the future. I'm sorry things didn't work out with Charles. I hope that you recover quickly and find the happiness you deserve

Cat, thank you for the refreshingly honest blogs! I really enjoy them and your ability to laugh at yourself. Also appreciate that you've taken this as a learning experience and want to grow from it. We should all be able to take a step back and look at our behavior and how we come across to others (except CLEARLY the Salami's are immune to this!) I've seen previews of the reunion and have to give you a TON of credit for not beeyotch slapping Michaele. You have handled yourself well under pressure...

cat, you had ever right to react the way you did on the finale. i lovvvvve your tell it like it is attitude. your amazzzing and good look on all of your ventures. seee ya, season two ;)

Cat I'm sorry about the failure of your marriage. I wish you and your children blessings happiness and success in the future. You add a great deal to the RHODC and I hope that you will return next year. All the best to you!

Cat, I get you . I'm European as well . As for Charles I think he is so hot!

I still think you're brash and tad bit rude... however, i felt bad for you whenever your husband talked down to you and threw you those dirty side way looks. Let's face it the show would be a total snoozefest without you and those filthy Salamis!! haha. loved your description of Tareq in those ill fitting suit.. laughed my butt off.

You were right about the Salahis, I just don't understand why Stacie didn't see them for who they are.

Applause to Cat! I support you and wish you well --- You're fantastic not plastic! I also think it's lovely that you have the humility to address your critics, answer to them, and say you are learning.

As New Yorkers, we "get" you - your directness and low BS tolerance. I understood why you called Michaele Salahi out on the carpet...

But.... we want you to know we applaud you and wish you well. Life is going to get better for you.

I think you are usually right in the things you say and I love ya! I do think even tho you are European, sometimes you need to realize that you are in another culture and should adapt a little more and be more sensitive to the message you're sending, cuz altho you may be right, your msg could get lost in the delivery if not done carefully. By no means change who you are, but a little sensitivity goes a long way. I wish you well and sorry about the divorce, maybe Charles let himself get ahead of himself.... Good luck to you and those pretty little girlies! PS- One of the best things about you, unlike the others, is you have no problems saying it to the person's face whereas I found the other ladies gossipy and backstabbers.

Being that her husband is part of the White House scene, she was disinvited to the Christmas party and had to endure the fallout it caused her family.

If I were a straight man and a man of means, I would drop everything and sweep you off your feet! You are a awesome and powerful woman. To the people who think you are mean, well I think a mean person would of smacked Erika up side the head when she went off on for no reason when she did but you didn't.You didn't because you are a woman of class that just speaks the truth.

Hold your head up high dear! At least with you what you see is what you get! Sorry things didn't work out with Charles. I am from the UK too, and having spent the past 20 years here I STILL get homesick for England. Have a home in both places as you deserve the best of both worlds! Ciao darling, Ang.

OH MY GOD CAT YOU ARE MY FAVORITE HOUSEWIFE OUT OF ALL THE SEASONS. One of my best friends is from Germany and was here in america as a foreign exchange student my junior year of high school. you two are a lot alike with how you just tell it like it is. i definitely think its a european thing. I was cheering when you told them what you thought of them. You're WAY to fabulous for "Bloody Chevy Chase" hahahaha. you should move to the city!!! I cant wait for the reunion!!! Xoxo
