You know i watched the show thinking "This isnt my cup of tea, the DC Housewives" But u kept me watching. As each episode goes by i admire your familys love, your strong work envornment, i think your great and i'm so happy i can somewhat get to know you better every thursday at 9 ;)

Lynda, I believe Stacy said that you were into "Holistic", not "Psychic" things. I don't think she meant it to be insulting either as she seems to be the most mellow on the show. Maybe you could tell her to go eat a cheeseburger? : ) I actually like you a lot and the rest of the ladies! I could go without Tareq. Good for you for just avoiding those two as much as possible!

Lynda, I appreciate that you are so open to many cultures and healing rituals. Burning sage, I believe is either a Native American or Asian custom.

However, if you converted to Judiasm, why on earth would you bless your house with Holy Water? That is kind of like Baptising your child, and then giving him a Bar Mitzvah when he turns 13.

It's one or the other, really, and the fact that you feel free to go back to your former religion makes me question your committment to Judiasm.

Really, Pam, Does it make any differencet o you what Lynda actually does? She appears to be a very spiritual woman with a varied sense of customs. There are actual people that use customs from all over the world, which actually shouldn't make you wonder about her commitment but it should make you celebrate her as a well rounded and diverse human.

Also Pam, it's Judaism, just so you know.

Lynda, Your blog is very well done. Thank you for putting time into it. I agree with your comments on marijuana. Nice to see you take that risk on national television. Please get involved and support Medical Marijuana and its legalization in D.C. We need more people to be open-minded like you are and realize this beautiful plant has many, many uses! We ask for fair, honest legislation to regulate this booming industry! Could you imagine using hemp cloth in your fashion industry?

pamb456 - The use of Holy Water stems from Jewish Law and was a Jewish tradition used as a means to purify. So the tradition stems from the Jewish religion.

While I do know that the Jewish prayer that Lynda said is a Jewish tradition to bless one's home, I'm not sure if it's a Jewish tradition to bless the home with Holy Water as well. But given the fact that the use of Holy Water was part of Jewish Law back in biblical times, I think what she did is perfectly fine and her house was blessed when she anointed it with Holy Water.

After living in a haunted condo I too began to sage and use house blessing oils around doors and windows - not to mention pouring salt around the perimeter of the new home we moved into! As far as spirituality goes - most of us who are "spiritual" take what talks to our souls from a lot of different religions and put those points into our daily living. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Thank you, Linda, for putting your spirituality out there for all to see - isn't that more refreshing than what we went through with RHNJ?!?! P.S. I too burn candles to get rid of the negative - Bravo owes me a ton of money for the candles I needed to use to get through watching Danielle and the gang!

I agree 100% regarding the drinking age. I teach at a college and I personally believe the higher drinking age is a huge factor in the rise of binge drinking.

You are an active and smart woman. LOVE YOU LYNDA! I agree with you about the drinking age. College kids seems to binge more than ever, as they "pre-game" in their rooms because they think once they go out they will not get served liquor. So kids wind up being drunk before they arrive, and most of the time get served alcohol anyway, making them now 2x as drunk. I agree, if they can vote and fight our wars, they should be able to have a beer. it's the DRINKING-DRIVING issue, which pertains to EVERY AGE, that should remain the focus of attention and education.

Man I can't understand why people say DC Housewives is boring. To me this is the only Housewife show that actually brings happiness and makes me smile. I really don't much care for the Salahis but even they can't compete with the stress Teresa G would cause me to feel every week just watching the show.

This is the only housewife show with class. This show caters to the audience who wants to view women in a positive light, who are not screaming, insulting each other, flipping tables, swearing, and being down right vulger (a la Teresa). To those who think this show is boring - wait for the return of the Real Housewives of New Jersey or Atlanta. To those who are looking for a show that truly represents classy women - keep on looking. I love these women.

I Love You! At first glance we seems so different, but we are really similar when it comes to the core. I, like you, stand fully on and for Human Rights. It presents itself in some many of the issues we are faced with today. I fall under the category of Straights Fights for Gay Rights, I was thinking about making shirts. I feel the state should recognize all unions equally and it is up to each church to offer a religious ceremony. Most American seem to have lost the idea of what this country was founded on and try to bring god, of there perception of god, into area's it has no business. Besides Jesus would have been a advocate for gay rights. As I see it he was a very excepting person who fought for those who felt persecuted. We have lost our humanity in this country that I love. MAN UP AMERICA and remember the message we intended for our visitors. It is still written on our fair lady in the harbor. Maybe you should read it sometime and learn what this country is suppose to be about.

Bravo Linda, I must say you remind me of my girlfriends, smart, decent, clear on their values and don't take a lot of bull from anybody. Thanks for seemingly being the only sane adult at Stacie's house besides CAT. Where was Stacie in uptopia land? as her friend, the wicked witch of the North, Erika berated CAT. Holy bad manners. This woman who is a guest in someone's home takes it on herself to berate another guest? Then going from silly to utterly ridiculous, Erika shows up in the foyer of Stacie's house to demand that CAT continue the farce? in front of CAT's children? Please!. It was clear from the get-go Erika is used to believing she is the cute girl in the room. You will always find a woman like Erika best friending a woman like Stacie... The once cute girl with the best friend chunkygirl who is more successful syndrome. I think Erika is jealous of CAT, with her fabulous accent, take no prisoner attitude while being attractive and fashionable, CAT has gotten Erika's goat. Erika also wanted to be a housewife. Jealousy is funny...it shows up with the type of fierce anger shown by Erika when in fact nothing has been done to her personally.

A smart woman of a certain is a great gift to those around her.

what is wrong with erika? the first time she was schown on the screen,i thought what a hard looking woman.she did not make me change my mind yet.seems her function on the show is to make trouble,she is very good at it .i woulld not have her in my circle of friends!!!! kat,that woman is not worth shedding tears over,i would not give her the time of day!!

It's nice to see how supportive you are of your friends, and I like that you are able to back up your views without breaking others down. I'm part way through watching my recording of this week's episode, and I had to pause to find your blog to comment. Thank you for your support of marriage equality. I was glad to see you representing that this is a human issue, not necessarily a gay issue. I have been lucky enough to find a wonderful partner in my life who I treasure each day. The fact that he happens to be a man and I happen to be a woman should make no difference - to me, to him, or to anyone. I don't think I deserve any special right to marriage because I fell in love with a man. It's sad to me that this has to be a point of discussion - for anyone. Thank you for representing a well thought, reasonable, educated view on the subject.

I felt you trying to step in and protect Cat but she's a grown woman and can hold her own. She has proven over the season that she can give a dig quite well but the question is can she take one. Let her fight her own battles. I understand your vulnerability of gay issues especially since your sister happens to be gay but I feel that you judged Stacie based upon her belief system. The DC Wives is a breath of fresh air. I can relate to these women so much better than the classless groups from New Jersey and Atlanta. I just hope this tiff between Erika and Cat doesn't turn into a Teresa-Danielle deal.

I agree. The only problem with the eighteen year olds being legal is they tend to buy alcohol for the 16 year olds. Other than that I believe if you want someone to act like an adult you should treat them like one.

I totally agree with Classy. Bravo to Bravo on this new group of Housewives! They are cultured, classy, and real. In every episode they bring to light issues that affect people everywhere. Please get rid of the Salahis. Not that they are bad people, I'm sure they have good intentions, but they don't seem to fit in at all. They just give the other smart, classy women on the show an opportunity to appear foolish and immature by getting together and talking badly about them. The four against one bit is no fun to watch.

I was so glad to hear your views on the legal drinking age. I agree with you 100%. I was coming of age around the time that they began raising the legal age from 18 to 21. I lived in GA and as they slowly raised the legal age I would be able to drink legally for a month or so then the age would go up to the next step. I was allowed to drink at home at age 18 because my parents felt, as you do, that they would rather me be safe and responsible than to run off and do it on the sly and run a much greater risk of binge drinking. Today I am a 44 year old wife and mother who still enjoys a cocktail, but I know how to drink responsibly and hope that I have set the example for my girls should they decide to drink when they are older. Studies have shown that young adults are much more likely to die as a result of binge drinking or drinking and driving when the age is 21 rather than 18. College kids will find the alcohol, they shouldn't have to die for it. Thanks for being such a wonderful addition to the Housewives shows, you are a touch of class in a sometimes less than classy franchise.

You comments on gay rights were great. And I admired your leadership in calling Erika on her own negativity at Stacie’s house. Your tone was perfect. It seemed a little odd that Stacie didn’t play that role herself, being the hostess of the event. So maybe she shared more of Erika’s feelings about Cat than I realized. I was thinking she’d moved on.
