Lynda finds the positive in her "rollercoaster ride."

on Oct 8, 20100

Now that the first season of RHDC is over and I've had time to reflect on all that has happened, I must say I am quite pleased with the way things have turned out. Though certain distractions and drama may have detracted from the positive at times, I was able to showcase T·H·E Artist Agency and our industry, as well as worthy charities to expose people to life in D.C. as I know it.

For those of you curious about my impressions of the infamous evening and ensuing fallout, tune in to the RHDC Reunion where I am able to finally express myself fully and face-to-face. It was a long exhausting day of filming (longest in HW history) as we confronted the Salahis; they continued spinning their stories, but at least they didn't plead the fifth! Aside from their nonsense, I enjoyed taking my seat on Andy's couch next to three gorgeous and talented women (and Ebong J). It has been a rollercoaster we rode together and I am feeling so grateful for the incredible support provided by my family, fellow housewives, cast-mates, and their families.

I have been saving the following poem to share with you after the last episode of this season. It describes beautifully what I believe, that if we are content with what we are given and are willing to work for what we desire, we would all be more worthy of the wonder the universe has to offer.

"Shining Just Where We Are"

Let us not waste our time in longing
For bright, but impossible things;
Let us not sit supinely waiting
For the sprouting of angel wings;
Let us not scorn to be rush-lights,
Every one can't be a star;
But let us fulfill our mission
By shining just where we are.

There is need of the tiniest candle
As well as the garish sun;
And humblest deed is ennobled
When it is worthily done;
We may never be called on to brighten
Those darkened regions afar,
So let us fulfill our mission
By shining just where we are.

LOL! Okay, that was, I must admit, a fairly ntenrtainieg exchange, James. I was thinking last night how, or if, I would respond to you, because you had finally put some interesting points out there (By the way, Donald is clearly a fighter that can hold his own, even if some of us sparring are not in your weight division). I was going to counter that both parties in congress contributed to the deployment of troops and financial mess, and that regardless of party affiliation one must question motives and potential end results regardless party affiliation; and so on, but reading this string - this was a fairly amusing back-and-forth left to its own devices. My final comment is that having a patriotic, but perhaps, more independent point of view, I will stop presuming what the right believes and speak for myself in the future, lest I get swept along in the rhetorical, turbulent current.

Lynda -

Before you speak you should be 100% positive that what you're saying is right....especially when it comes to a disease. You said people with MS are NOT suppose to eat protein.....you are 100% wrong on that as protein IS an important part of the diet recommended for MS. Protein allowed DOES include beef. Please make sure to read up on facts before you speak about a disease.

As for your friendship with Cat - you think it's ok for Cat and the rest of you ladies to critique Michaele's husband and marriage (which you all did through the entire season) but when comments are made about Cat's marriage you all critize Michaele??? I wonder if you'd feel this strongly had you been on the receiving end of her rude comments and criticisms at the beginning, and all through your season. Cat seemed to think quite highly of herself when the show first aired and as the season wore on she seemed to come down to earth a bit more. Seems as though the power and popularity her husband had went to hear head and the closer it came to the end she realized she was going to be like the majority of our population. What do you think Lynda?

Lynda wasn't making light of MS...she was stating that she doesn't believe Michaele HAS MS. Michaele has been caught in lies about herself & her past and this may be one more thing she's lied about. Who knows! That's all Lynda was saying, so calm down.

Lynda, you gave Michaele and her husband such a bashing about pleading the fifth, but when Andy asked you about getting married, what did you do? You plead the fifth, how ironic!

Also about your opinions about MS. I have the disease, but plenty of people around me didn't know for the first 20 years, because it took that long before I had any mobility impairment. Before that, I had only sensory symptoms. Medications have been developed since I was first diagnosed that allow people to go even longer before the onset of disability.

Also, where did you get your information that people with MS should eat a low-protein diet? I've followed news about MS and diet for the past 26 years, and I can tell you there hasn't been any diet that has been shown to make a difference.

I think you conduct yourself perfectly. I think you and Mary are the most perfect ladies on the show.

Lynda, Cat and you are my favorites of ALL the housewives on any of the shows. Cat is real and you are real. Y'all both have such great, strong-minded personalities along with a quick wit (aka "sarcasm" to some people) and I absolutely love it. Don't change a thing--you're wonderful! P.S.-- I, too, "inhaled".....ROTFLMAO!!!!

Just my opinion, but Lynda is perfect with all her lovely imperfections. Graceful, fun and naughty. She calls them like she sees them and she can still remain diplomatic. I just wish you, Lynda, would have asked on air why the Salahis did not pay for Paul's party. Did I miss something? Last I heard is that their lawyer called Paul to tell him they were NOT paying for the party they HOSTED. ha. Then that goof MS proports to have MS. Gimme a break. After all their lies and "oh what tangled webs we weave" schemes, they wonder why people would NOT believe them? Puh-leeze...

Lynda, I love that you admit your smoking pot in the past. However, with all of your holistic beliefs, I'm was shocked that you would be taking prescription drugs, esp. combining them. ...Not very holistic! :\ ...You should go back to the pot!

I love you! Or, I take that back (I don't want to sound as insincere as Michaele). I really admire your composure, your class, and that you have so much love for your family and that you are a great friend to the people who deserve it. I love that you call Michael on her BS.

Southern Belle
Southern Belle

Lynda, By far u could actually be the most klassy of the DC Housewives. Southern Belles are noted to be expressive and very understanding. Spiritual u by far are not. If Cat had made a comment about Ebong or anything about your personal life u would have reacted just like Ericka did. Cat can dish it but she cannot take it. Since she is in America for just a little while let the Americans show her how to respect what friends tell her and not take it and use it against them. Because of her Catty ways is probably why she didnt't get to meet the President. Karma is a bitch sometimes isnt it?!!!! Please lighten up because a lot of women learn from u!

I don't know if you will read this but I have a comment to make regarding Michaele and MS. Whether you believe that she has it or not, it is not your right to comment about something you don't know. I was diagnosed in 1989 and now have secondary progressive MS. I use a walker and a wheelchair. This can be a debilitating disease or not, every person is different. Your comment about the letters of a disease matching her initials really hit me hard. It's not a game and not funny. Please wake up and learn the facts before you speak.

I wish there were more people like you in my life, and the world itself Lynda. You're a very warm, stable and joyful soul . I appreciate that immensely in the midst of a very chaotic and drama filled world.

Lynda,

I Love your take on life. I can it is refreshing to see you use the Sage for clear on all Karma of others. Not many people do this , here in the Southwest deserts clearing Karma of homes,workstations ect ect. Myself I have had the teachings of Native American, whom taught meanings of the Sages, and be shown the how to do it, and always bless the house with living water,( and stream,fiver) Holy water as well.I would really like you to return when season 2 begins. Thank you again for being true to your self. I love it.

I was kind of surprised to see you, an educated woman be so full of hate. When this incident happened I not only questioned the Salahi's in getting through security but most important was the fact that it is apparent that the president's security is NOT that good!!! That would be my main concern....how THEY let them get that far. You all were so full of judgment. I work for the justice system and when you are involved in such an investigation you cannot even say one word to friends...although I know you are not a friend of the Salahi's. They have to maintain quiet about the subject until after the investigation is over. I learned doing this that these days you should not be so quick to judge or hate because KARMA comes back at you. As a woman, you were too eager to say for Michaela to take off her extensions, and her fake eyelashes and so forth instead of having some mercy and allowing justice to take its course. Remember, anything can happen for one to fall. I am sure you would not like to go back to how you lived before you married into money. It is sad. I understand that you want justice, but be real.....they are not the only ones who screwed up....your president's security should be questioned as well.

I'm very disappointed with you behavior toward Michaele. How dare you speak to her that way about her having MS. You seem ignorant when it comes to her disease. I have been living with recurring and remitting MS for over 30 years so I can relate to her. Put you nose in a book and get educated about it before you open your mouth.

Lynda - I thought that you would be one of favorite on the show when it started but it turned out you were one of my least favorite. I was so disappointed in your behavior against that Salahi's. Does it really effect you? You made it clear that you didn't want anything to do with them, but you constantly wanted to know what they were doing and putting your opinion in. If it didn't effect you, let it go. The Salahi's will sink themselves. Just learn to sit back, keep your mouth shut and watch.

Lynda. i have a good friend that spells her name the same way. I have never seen it that way till you. I was always right behind you on Micheale and her husband. I could see it all along. You are such a lady. You were a delight to watch. I think you, Mary, Stacie, and Cat are all classy ladies and i love ya all.I just hope ya all just go on with your wonderful lives and stay away from those 2 crazies. Love you Marty

I am in total agreement. How dare she assume she is any better than the Salahis. After all, the Salahis were or wen`t invited to the WH Dinner, but neither she nor any other DC housewife received said invitation. In other words, she and the others do not belong to the elitists of DC.

Cathy Ommanney`s loss of invite to the WH Christmas Dinner had absolutely nothing to do with the Salahis. Other housewives should ask the Brit for the truth!

Linda, I have been with you this whole time due to you taking and maintaining your positon about Micheale and her husband. You have not waivered. Cat I love her she tells it like it is. Staci is two faced. Mary has finally got off the fence and decided to join you and stay away from those two. I swear Micheale is a blond Kellie (RHWONY), the things she says makes no sense at all.

Linda, Thank god you were on the show. You have remained the same person since the 1st episode. I loved watching you, you have a great family, relationship and great friends. You say it like it is and you call people out on there B.S. I can't wait to see more of you. Best of luck.

Lynda, you, Cat and Stacie are the reason I continued to watch this show, it has been the most intelligent housewives show ever.

I think you're terrific by the way, the kind of person that's good to deal with because you're a straight shooter.

Lynda, I was surprised that you and the other DC wives went after the Salahi's the way you did on the last show. You didn't need to - they hanged themselves with their truly bizarre behavior.

I LOVED the fashion show and thought the gorgeous clothes were truly unique and spectacular. Well done!

Good luck.

You're a fun and adorable addition to the show. I find it totally understandable that you would want to confront the Salahis and I'm not sure why that makes you a "mean girl." Their ridiculous actions don't just tarnish their own reputation but can affect others on the show with them (like in Cat's case). Obviously you have the right to let them know this and should receive some form of explanation and apology.

Lynda, At first I thought you were mean BUT now I know you had every reason to act as you did. These clowns that have made this show like a circus need to be called out and I can't wait for the reunion and see you give it to them!! It seems Bravo won't post my negative comments about them and that's just wrong! What irks me the most is they could not answer ONE question at the hearing - even when asked if they were present! Who does that? Oh yeah, the Salahi's!! Best of luck to you!!

DIGNIFIEDaddict;
DIGNIFIEDaddict;

I think you were dignified throughout all the episodes except the last, when you sat with the other ladies and Paul in your apartment and cackled at the Salahis testifying. Frankly I've been rooting for their demise since the fiasco hit the "real" airwaves at the time of state dinner, but I could not have imagined you, who appeared non-judgmental, and spiritual throughout the season, to have done a complete 180 and began cheering against a frenemie like a middle-school mean girl. Goodness knows there was nothing the Salahis ever did to their friends like Paul Wharton (and his birthday party), like Mary Amons (and the Lolly accusation), like CAT (and the Christmas party devastation), that was honorable, trustworthy or genuinely friendly, but you did not need to stoop to their level and cheer on Michaele's downfall. That was low. I would have thought you all would be shocked and saddened, not thumbs-up, smirking and smiling. Paul Wharton seemed to be the only one not happy for how his old friend turned out. And trust me, as a citizen of this country, I was enraged at the Salahis and disappointed that justice was not served for the severity of this crime.

Lynda- You are such a nice but still brutally honest person which is great. People sometimes think it's hypocritical for you to always say it's wrong to judge but then hear you talk about Michaele. The thing is, you are not judging Michaele- you simply speak the truth about what you see, just like Cat which is why I love you both. I agree with many other viewers that this first season was great but shouldn't have had so much of Tareq on it. Why did we always see everything he and Michaele were up to when we didn't see that with Ebong, Jason or any of the other men who are in the show every so often which is the way it should be. Seems like Tareq is just there to promote Oasis any chance he can. (something very shady is going on there and I wish we all knew more) Anyways, I could blab on forever on my opinion of the Salahis... Just wanted to say you're a beautiful person, inside and out. Keep being kind but also HONEST because it's hilarious when you are. :)

Lynda....you disappoint me with how critical you have been of Michaela since the beginning of the season. What is the real reason behind it? You go after her behind her back with all the ladies or whomever is in earshot.

I just watched the final episode and I can't understand how they could get through so many security checkpoints and then it comes out after the fact that they crashed the party. Someone is at fault but I really don't believe the error was on their part because no one in their right mind would try to get past secret service uninvited and take a camera crew to boot!

Look in the mirror first before you start judging someone else. It's not a good luck what you are doing, spewing all this haterade!

Love you Linda! You keep it real!

Why was Michale husband on the show the entire time? This suppose to be the Real Housewives of DC Not Real housewives of DC & their spouses.

I dislike the fact we never saw them apart. Stacie went out many times without her husband-but not Michale. Something is terrible wrong with that picture.

Linda, You do have a personal issue with Michaele. It is very obvious that from the very first episode you started the war. You attacked Michaele's weight. Frankly, that was not your business. If you really care for Michaele you should have spoken with her directly. Being unkind and judging others with no proof is terrible. I hope this does not happen to you.

No matter what you say, Michaele is a beautiful, kind and positive person.

Good luck to you and yours.

Lynda....I used to like you and enjoyed your character, but as of late you have become a real "mean girl" especially towards the Salahis. When i witnessed you as a group hovered around the TV you were the only one who seemed to actually take pleasure in watching them get drilled on Capital hill. It was very upsetting to see how much enjoyment you got out of it demanding they go to jail! I dont' know if there is more to the story and there is anotehr reason you are so filled with hate but it is very unnerving to watch from someone who used to be a fan. You have a smile which is a little devious and then when you talk, and you close your eyes when you say something as to act really dramatic it just furthers my opinion of you that you are all fluff and have a mean side. I hope i am wrong and that if you are asked back to the next season we might see a nicer side to your personality.
