Elsa's Plastic Surgery Issue
Lisa explains the comments from her pre-party about Elsa.
Things are heating up in Miami in more ways than one. (Like we needed any more heat!) So here is my take on tonight’s explosive episode.
Things immediately heated up in Romain and Joanna's bedroom, but it quickly turned cold. Romain was uninterested at that moment and preoccupied with his big night, which left Joanna frustrated.
Romain and Joanna, as beautiful as they may be, are no different from anyone else. After seeing this, I'm sure many breathed a sigh of relief knowing they are not alone. When lives are busy or you're at a crossroads in a relationship, your sex life will suffer the consequences. Having Marta around while trying to figure out the next step in their relationship looks like a distraction. This is exactly why I offered Marta to come stay with me, so those two could get some much needed privacy. And besides, Marta would be in a completely separate wing of our house. No imposition at all.
When Joanna called me that afternoon to tell me about Romain’s citizenship and Lea’s gala, I did feel belittled that Lea called Joanna personally, but I was called by her assistant. Perhaps I was being a tad sensitive, but ultimately I want to do whatever I can to raise funds for charity, so it wasn't hard for me to overlook that to try and contribute any way that I could. Charity work trumps personal issues every time. I love doing what I can for great causes, and I admire how her charity is run. I can appreciate Romain’s struggle to be a U.S. citizen. Being an immigrant from Canada myself, I came to the U.S. on a 0-1 extraordinary ability visa, which I was able to attain because of my hard work in the entertainment field. People assume I have never worked (probably because I said I don't…presently), but I have in fact worked very hard most of my life, and when I met Lenny, I was able to retire LOL. All jokes aside, I chose being with my love in Miami over pursuing a career in L.A. I still do some acting and modeling, but the opportunities in Miami for me are not as abundant. I will be feeling the same joy as Romain in just a few months! I have been married now for three years, so I can apply for my citizenship this year. It will be amazing to finally get to vote in the U.S. and not be referred to as an alien.
My young relationship with Lea seems up and down. Some days she seems uninterested and dismissive, while other days she is very warm and attentive, like at her home for the gala meeting. Although she isn't my "favorite" person at this point, I wanted to make an effort. I'm still trying to figure out all of this drama between Marysol, Lea, and Elaine.
I invited the ladies I was closest with over for cocktails and sushi before the Mynt event. I was worried after hearing them bicker over Marta's ex being there and that it might become an issue on Romain’s big night. I foresaw it being a problem, since they were pretty worked up and the night hadn't even started. The addition of alcohol did not help matters.
I always love to hear my husband talk about his achievements, especially about being a surgeon for 23 years at the young age of 46. He was able to do this because he became a surgeon at 23. Being the genius that he is, he was able to skip college and go straight to med school. Because of this, I joke about him being a real life Dougie Houser. My husband and I are very playful with each other, which is why I said I hope our future children have his brains and my looks. I love that we have such a fun relationship. When I said he is a full time job in himself, I meant I do everything for him he cannot tend to himself. I'm his personal shopper, his personal secretary, his personal banker, his errand girl. Basically I’m his bitch LOL! All joking aside, we are a team, and it works for us.
Don't know how the conversation started on Elsa, but when Adriana said she looked great, I had to state the obvious and disagree. She is a wonderful lady, but she said herself that a plastic surgeon did a poor job. It was not meant to be insulting; I was just stating my opinion.
I jokingly said "this house was built by boobs," because it's a funny way to talk about Lenny's success as a breast implant specialist. I know other people have said that before, and I always thought it was a cool comment.
I want to clarify my comment, “Shoot me if I'm in a club over 40.” I think I was over exaggerating. The fact is that I hope that when I am 40 and over I will feel comfortable being at home, in a club, or anywhere else. I just don't want it to be a regular lifestyle for myself.
I disagree with the Marysol's characterization about Lea's event being disorganized. My husband and I have been supporting the event for the last ten years. It’s one of the best events Miami has to offer and very well run. I also feel that Marysol has added a lot to the event in the past and should be recognized for all her efforts, not condemned for an incident on the red carpet or whatever else may have happened. Elaine and Marysol should have confronted this issue sooner so it didn't have to spiral out of control. It’s a case of he said, she said. There is clearly more to this story we are missing.I felt horrible for Romain at Mynt because he was trying to enjoy his night and was completely surprised when Joanna came storming down in a rage. I think for a minute everyone thought she was about to attack Adrianna for flirting with Romain. I guess Joanna forgot she told us Romain wanted no drama… Joanna is a passionate girl, who loves and wants to protect her sister, but Marta was clearly embarrassed. The drama gave Marta’s ex importance, which he didn't deserve. Everyone should have put aside their personal differences to support Romain on his big night. With all of their relationship problems, I'm sure this did not help.
I had mentioned that Daysy has to lose a significant amount of weight, and it's not that she's obese, because she is far from it. In order to achieve her goals and maintain them, it's her responsibility to do all she can on her own first and use the surgery to sculpt the trouble areas that only surgery can help. Lenny and I are big believers that plastic surgery is an adjunct to a healthy lifestyle and not a substitute. My husband’s website it very informative for anyone who has questions about plastic surgery, what it does, and how it works.
