Adriana's Showgirl Surprise – Ep 12
Bravotv.com's Associate Editor thinks there should be more bedazzled shimmying.
Nov 30, 2012RHOM became a real family show last night. Seriously though, we met more family members in one episode than you could shake a family tree at. Let's go through and review who exactly was there, what drama they might have stirred up (as parents are so wont to do), and make some predictions in the process.
Lenny Hochstein's Parents
Lisa's in-laws were in town and she seemed...well not exactly over the moon. When Lenny told her he was going to be late coming home from work and would miss their arrival, you could catch a quick glimpse of fear written on her face. Luckily, her mother-in-law evidently loves Daysy, who was able to help Lisa ease the stress of impending judgment.
Judgment about what? You guessed it -- babies! Like any in-law, they're looking for grandchildren. This is a sore subject for Lisa as we've learned, and something tells me Lisa's been getting that request for grandkids since she and Lenny came back from the honeymoon.
Lisa throws a beautiful seder, inviting the ladies and their parents. Honestly I think the whole episode should have just followed the interactions of Elsa and all the Housewives parents, because you know there were some great conversations we missed there. Maybe I'm biased, but come on, you know you wanted more of that.
However one of my favorite parts of the whole episode was Lisa's toast to America. I was hoping for some fireworks at the end, but even without it was still perhaps the most patriotic moment in Housewives history.
Prediction: Much like Joanna, we're hoping the next speech Lisa makes is just an announcement is that she's pregnant.
I bet someone had a problem with what was aired and said... The celebrations themselves were wonderful but the political comments were pretty revealing. Or maybe, all of them are feeling so bad about how they acted towards Karent... Hiding their heads in shame.

So if this show gets cancelled these housewives can only blame it on themselves. If they don't care about their viewers then guess what ? The audience are not going to care either. Simple deduction.

This episode aired 3 days ago... I find it hard to believe none of these gals have 10 mins to post a blog?? It must have been one heck of a reunion!?!

I believe that you showed Mama Elsa saying the comment about President Obama as a way to take the heat off of Lea Black. You only showed a snippet of the conservation with the moms, keeping in that inflamatory remark. Shame on you, Bravo, for throwing an elderly, ill health, woman under the bus! No matter how you spin it, Lea Black and her horrid, nasty friends like Thomas Kramer, will always be scum!

There is definitely a protective shield around L.Black. However, I really do not see how Elsa's comment eclipses anything Lea does or says. The truth is neither are looking good and all by their own actions and words. Lea, la patrona, may find her utility to her causes undermined by her performance here. She is one petty, mean spirited woman. Sad to see in an intelligent person.
@wivdiamonds @garymom I just assumed Bravo did not want Roy on their backs if they misrepresent his wife. Sorry dear Lea... reality tv has caught on to you and you can't be protected from your own words.
garymom Oh, I think all's fair. Lea looks and sounds like a drawling, parlor room madam, and Elsa like the woman who hasn't left her past behind her or, for that matter, progressed much. She is superstitious and apparently a bigot in her views. I won't say more...
While i realize you censor our comments, i am sure many have commented about Elsa and the disrespect of our President....yet we don't see that many, maybe to shield her? Since she seems to be bravos break out star, lol. I too was a fan, until I heard the disparaging "animal" remark Totally out of line and uncalled for, what if we, the fans of bravo, started calling her names that reflected her appearance and personality? I bet that would upset things a bit. No more Elsa for me, if I watch anymore, i will turn the channel on one of the shopping channels when she comes on....you did not post my first comment, i apologize if it was not nice...

I think Bravo did this to make Lea Black and her friend Thomas Kramer look less evil. The comments on her blog last week spoke volumes, most of them were against her. Funny now how 1 of his victims is being shown in a bad way.

Why is Bravo re-running every other program over and over again except this one?? I'm out of town with no DVR and I can only see every other Housewives of past seasons?? Luckily I got to see this snippet of adriana "dancing". At least we can understand now why she's so angry. Did she really tell the guy she is already engaged to he will have to "bring it" to marry her??? All she "brings" is negativity and nonsense. Clearly not an entertainer. Even her bestie Alexia laughed at her.
Bravo.Bravo.Bravo I guess the "hard to get" method is working on Adriana's fiance. Who does she think she is?? And BTW, it's was suppose to be a couple's 50th wedding anniversary party but she turned it into...look at me...I'm a hot Brazilian dancer.
Relo....don't you get it? Many of the "housewives" on these shows are just aging gals who never made it to the big time on the big screen. It is their chance to shake their fannies before a camera. I find it hilarious (and a little sad at times).
I wonder if Andy Cohen will ever call out Elsa for calling our President "an animal". He was quick to call out Marlo Hampton for using the word fa&&ot. Even though Elsa is one of his proclaimed favorites, her behavior is INEXCUSABLE and needs to be addressed.

Elsa has been in this country a long time, and I presume she's an American citizen. Just like half of the American citizens, she doesn't like Obama and spoke her opinion. So What?!!! You all are just used to the liberal media that protects him and makes it look like everyone loves this guy. Bravo to Bravo for showing some differing opinions!!

The Beverly Hills cast is so much better about that than this cast. Can Bravo do something about it?

mrsdonutthey havent blogged yet b/c they filmed the reunion all day yesterday. The Miami cast is pretty good at blogging..the only one who hasnt blogged in a few weeks is Karent.

Agreed that the full episode should have revolved around the parents. Very funny... I'm loving Krupa Mom!! She seems so down to earth & I have to give her kudos for how she graciously didn't contribute to the political talk at Lisa's house when asked. (Joanna needs to take some lesson from Mom) It was a heartfelt moment when she discussed her past with Joanna in the kitchen & yet she didn't hesitate to call her daughter out on her drinking / anger issues. Hope to see more of her....HOWEVER, I can't get enough of our shirtless Romain in bed...hoping to see more of that! (I think the upcoming hot tub scene is going to put me over the edge) LOL!
Agriana is so fortunate to have Fredric put up with her. His parents are great!! She better jump on that ship ASAP before Fredric sails off with another second mate! Also, will someone please tell Agriana that this party was not about her flaunting her stuff for the guests...it should have been dedicated completely to the anniversary couple.
The arrival of all the parents made for some depth of character, not least for Frederic! Absolutely in the case of Joanna, and poor Lisa. Talk about performance pressure.
It is Alexia who needs to leave this show, however. Her face alone and comment about needing to have a chat with Marisol are infuriating. Who is she to be so perfunctory. The dude who dresses like a femme is interesting me as he seems to feel more aggressive in costume. I think Marisol should dress as a man and see what happens. And dear Lord, remove Ana. Gossiping with her dear daughters, meeting her husband who says she devours the competition, just affirm what I've thought all along. She is no saint. And why wasn't she invited to any of the dinners?
The sight of Adriana twisting her torso in truncated moves made me realize how much time has moved on for her, despite the airbushed photo of the previous episode. It would be more interesting and potentially reputation changing if she shared precisely why she is so distrustful of commitment. It is getting old otherwise.

I thought Lea was two faced talking about her friend Elaine and Marisol and then shouting "Enough!" She sure is more of an instigator and pretender. Losing interest in her too.

Adrianna did share the story of her first marriage at a dinner in Lea's house during the first season. She probably does need to do a refresher though.
Mama Elsa has been a favorite but I have to say hearing her call our president an animal robbed her of her status. Her face and nasty comment are not a pleasing combination to behold. She should stick to her shaman role, and her dervish swirling. There's an elegance there. But not this time.

I'd like to see how Castro would have responded to Elsa publicly referring to him as an animal. I am SO OVER this woman.
For years we listened to liberals rant and make fun of Bush, McCain, Romney...why is it so horrible when Elsa says something about a liberal? If anything the liberals have taught us that it is everyone's right to say what they want. I was never much for disrespecting the President of the United States, but after listening to years and years of disrespect for the Republicans it only seems natural that someone would feel it would be okay to voice their opinion, even if different from our own.

You should be seething when anyone calls a US president an animal, especially a Cuban refugee, protected in this country by this government.. .By the way, such a disgusting name would never apply to a gentleman like Barack Obama.. But I doubt Elsa and that bland daughter of hers has ever met a real gentleman since their friends are the likes of that Kramer horror and the smarmy ex Phillippe..

The people in this country don't even know how much they've been "swayed" by the liberal media, making this President look holier than thou. It's unbelievable. Thank you to Bravo. Other networks would have only shown comments that praise him!
Such schadenfreud. Very hard to consider and probably watch this lot pretending to be in Karent's best interest. Her naivete is what saves her in my book from all accusations. The rest have no excuses. Their sober faces don't convince me. Cruel. Betrayals on so many fronts. And who will speak for her?
I am disappointed in Mama Elsa's political statement. It's very hurtful and disrespectful to the President of the United States. Though I'm more upset with the editors of the show for leaving it in. Elderly folks sometimes loose their filters on life...what's BRAVO's excuse for tarnishing the life Mama Else has left?
