What better way to kill a romantic morning more than a pre-nup conversation. These conversations are the ones every couple dreads. I know that Joanna doesn't like the idea of signing one, but it’s for the best in my opinion. I expected to sign a pre-nup when marrying my husband. Any wealthy, successful man or woman should protect themselves, because you just never know what the future may hold. I do believe that it should not be one sided and that both sides should be comfortable with the terms.
I couldn't help but laugh as I watched the scene of me and Daysy. She was so thrilled with her results from the surgeries my husband performed last year to fix poor plastic surgery she had before. Daysy looks better than ever, and her confidence is through the roof. She wanted a sexy photo shoot to poke fun at my “a sexy maid is every man’s fantasy” comment I made last year. I am so proud of her achievements. She has grown her cleaning company so much that she herself no longer has to clean. I'm sad to see her go, but she has better things to do than clean my house now, so good for her.
I want to say a few things about the home we bought on Star Island The property had been neglected by the previous owners for many years and allowed to fall into disrepair. These people took out $14 million in loans with two banks and then promptly stopped making payments. They then put the house on the open market for sale, but found nobody interested in purchasing it. My husband negotiated with the bank to buy the note and completed the foreclosure process that the bank had initiated two years prior. After obtaining the note from the bank, he tried to negotiate with the tenants and offer them a tremendous amount of money to move out to start a life.
Lisa, I love you. Please look at your relationship with your in- laws. They might not be that nice, but they did raise your husband, and they all love each other. The best gift you could ever give Lenny is to ignore his mother's rude comments and respond with love. I know it's hard, but the pay off is worth it. When she sees she can no longer get under your skin maybe she will then see see is wrong and the two of you could build a relationship. Trust me it works. My mother-in law ended up being my best friend. Good luck
I just read the rest of the posts it seems we all have the same feelings on your weight. If you want a kid try to gain a few pounds dont worry about your perfect body the baby will ruin that anyway, thats why you have a plastic surgeon husband to fix it. You dont have a lot of time like your husband said he's not getting younger.
You are one of my favorites, I'd love to hang out with you. You are such a sweetheart. Adorable. I have a feeling if you ate healthier and gained a few pounds you may have more luck with the baby issue. I will pray for you. I sometimes know things and dont know how just trust me it has something to do with your diet.
Hey Lisa hows is everything coming along with you having a baby? I wanted to tell you that I believe you need more protein in your diet. Something has been telling me that is what you need. I hope it helps good luck. please keep us posted.
Hey, Lisa.....you don't know the first thing about preservation. I guarantee their interest in your house has nothing to do with Scarface, but rather with the architecture history itself. Careful where you swing that mallet, missy.....
I feel for you because I know how it feels to want children, but in all fairness the botox you inject on a regular basis is not good and can cause deformities. A Doctor once told me when that sometimes when we miscarry it our body knowing the baby is not growing as it should be. Stop the botox and let your body heal then try again.
Everything about you is fake. Now you are creating this ridiculous story line about the baby you supposedly long for. Nobody is buying it. You are trying way too hard to be relevant. You reek of desperation. You bring nothing to the table other than you managed to land an ugly surgeon husband. Wow. Impressive. NOT!
Your stock just dropped 75% with your comments about "scum bag preservationists".
These so-called "scum bag preservationist" are the reason Miami's historic art deco buildings have been preserved and what Miami is famous for.
Hearing you slam these people was disgusting and you owe them am apology.
Preservationists are the reason that when you travel all over Europe, Asia, the Americas, etc. you see magnificent old buildings still standing and outrageously beautiful for all to enjoy and admire. Those $3,000 a night hotels that you and your husband stay at are there because people with more sense and taste then you knew the importance of preserving them for others to enjoy in the future.
I was mortified at your ignorant narcissistic comments.
There, I feel much better. Take a class on historic architecture or better yet, buy a lot and build a new house and leave the historic homes of Miami alone.
Lisa, I really like you, and feel so bad that you cannot carry a child...Your so sweet and would make a wonderful MOm. That is why I don't mean to insult you when I say: The reason why you cannot carry is because you are to thin...I know your Dr.s are telling you that isn't it, but that is it..Women (Child bearing women at least) are not so tiny.. you are TINY your body cannot hold a baby...Please just gain twenty pounds, you will get you family
I like you, you're the type of gal I would be friends with. You just like to have fun. I hope you get the family you so much desire.
You are a doll and I was surprised and happy to discover that you are smart, kind, and gracious with all of your friends. And then there's Lenny...he seems like the type of man that doesn't say much, but what he says is important plus he is totally HOT. You two are darling and I hope there is a baby Hochstein very SOON!
My god, you sound so arrogant. Losers? And you are a winner for doing WHAT exactly? What do you contribute to this world? If you really want to be a mom -maybe try to gain a few pounds and prepare your body to carry, as opposed to starving it, thinking you will get some kind of award for doing so. Oh, I forgot, you do get awards for it -from Lenny, homes-cars…maids. Ugh honestly, I can't with you two…
Elle1959 Tania1234 It's true, I wish I had a better body, huge home and expensive cars, but no depth. You got me PEGGED!
The 'preservationist' could possibly fear the aesthetics of the nouveau riche at play in building the new property so typical of Miami.
...Can't believe that I'm admitting this, but I kind of like Lisa (that may change later). She's your a-typical trophy wife and is doing what those types of women do best, so she best suits this show than most of the other women in this franchise.
I would trade my problems for her "rich people's problems" any day of the week!
I love you. It really appears that you & your husband would be great parents. I will pray for you that it works out whatever way God intends.
Lisa, you are genuine smart and lovely. Good luck in all your endeavors (first post I have ever made btw).
You know Lisa, I really like you. However I have to agree with the preservation society, you had a gem of history. I hope you did this renovation with lots of preservation and historic value.
Nastybaby Monica7277 They bought it that way knowing that they had an obligation to restore it. Now they want to change the deal.
Gessie, were they, if fact, under any legal obligation to? Did they, in fact, know? Were they even told? See, those are the key questions. From what she stated in her blog, other properties on that island were also torn down, with no dispute, so why the problems with them tearing down theirs?
Nastybaby My family is in real estate, and we frequently buy houses just for the land. Its not uncommon to tear down an old house; its often cheaper than efforts to restore a house. Someone needs to tell me how this private dump of a single family home is a community gem.
Mimilicious I've heard of this being done and, as you mentioned, to each, his own. I work in Detroit (Proper) and there are several buildings that are in disrepair. I know of owners who wanted to tear down the buildings, but are in legal battles with historic organizations who fight the tear-downs. It's a mess. The buildings are just sitting there looking like they belong in a war-zone.
Stumbled on this show just when the Star Island house was being featured and had to comment. To think that you are capable of building a house with more integrity than that one boggles even an average mind. Your disrespect for the architectural preservation league is grossly unconscious, maybe you should build a house in Disney World from plastic in a plastic yard.
Homes don't have integrity and private homes are made for the owners only. You are giving yourself too much credit. Your mind is well below average.
jamjane Why is there this presumption that modern architecture cant' do better? Plus architects need jobs, the economy has been crappy for a long time. My friend who is an architect lost his job and could only find part time consultation work since the economy has been doing so badly. People don't even think before they talk, they just make snap judgements. The house isn't anything that great, plus there are tons of old homes in Miami. I live here.
KH@phd Architects can do restoration as opposed to new construction, this is what is done in sophisticated cities like London, Paris, Madrid etc. Imagine tearing down all of the vintage buildings in those cities so architects can work, those cities are enchanting because their architecture has been preserved.
KH@phd P.S. Kramer's home on Star Island is a good example of why architects cannot do better. Not to mention the multitude of McMansions in Dade Co. Let's tear down Coral Gables too eh? You prefer the palatial over-scaled bling houses do you?
jamjane KH@phd phd Its a private single family home, the owners should be able to do with it as they please. Do you own any property?
jamjane With all due respect, an older home may not have much structural integrity, especially if the previous owners deferred the maintenance.
Nastybaby Restoration is more aristocratic. New construction = rinky dink. Pay attention to the contrast between new construction and vintage, if you can't see the difference in aesthetic integrity then you must be a happy camper. That house isn't falling down, it needs restoring, it is symmetrical and well designed and well-scaled.
jamjane Nastybaby Well thats your opinion which is ok, but you are not the owner of the house, the owner decides what they want to do with their home. I didn't realize that homes used for movie sets are now historic gems.
jamjane You come off a snob and are very condescending. New construction doesn't always add up to "rinky dink". And I can't see the difference because I'm not a structural engineer and there is no new property that they've built to compare.
You come off as the biggest snob of anyone in Bravo history. Get a grip girlie you are not that great! The remarks you were making about the people who lived in the house prior to you was way out of line. Shame on you.
rebels18 I agree completely. It's offensive. Does she not know HOW MANY AMERICANS have been foreclosed on in recent years. She sounds so incredibly judgmental without knowing what their circumstances were. Also, she acted like these degenerates should be grateful for their $200K they throw at them. That was just an ugly blog.
The people in the house stole $14 mil. You think they need sympathy? I bet you are a fan of bernie madoff.
rebels18 She was making judgement on people who bought a $14M home and they let the house go to hell. She was not making a broad statement about people who foreclose on their homes.
Nastybaby rebels18 I do think it was in poor taste for her to air out their dirty laundry and financial issues. For all we know they were good people who fell victim to a bad economy. Her judgement of them was not called for. The only think she should have talked about was the bad state the house was in
My husband and I struggled for 6 years to have our wonderful son. We had to do ivf and was well worth it. We went to the Cleveland clinic, top hospital in the world. They wanted me to put on 10 pounds to help my chances of becoming pregnant. I did. I would hope your fertility doctors have discussed this with you and also stop the Botox. Why are u putting chemicals in your body when you are trying to conceive?
Would you tear down a Frank Lloyd Wright house because the kitchen is outdated? People who don't appreciate historical architecture should be prohibited from buying historical buildings.
SFViewer It was not sold or listed as a historical building, nor was it protected prior to this sale. I believe it has something to do with the losers that were squatting in the house (they were living there for the zip code to get status).
christmaszorro Agreed. Wouldn't the realtor have disclosed that information to them? Unless the Hochteins knew and tried to work around the historical issue, I don't see where they are wrong.
SFViewer You've missed the point by a mile. This was never a historical site to begin with. To compare it to a Frank Lloyd Wright home is delusional. On top of that, the preservationists made no attempts before this to ensure the house was being cared for.
Lisa's not against preservationists, she's against money-hungry publicity seekers who could actually be putting their efforts toward good causes instead of self-serving stunts like this.
