Boyfriends, modeling, arguments and a side of laundry. Oh, and chuckies. Gotta love the NJ girls and their bubbies and chuckies.
Christine is gorgeous, and I remember seeing the cover of the Daily at a fashion show, thinking to myself, "Who is that beautiful girl?" and opening the magazine to see it was Danielle’s daughter. Good for her, congrats and I wish her a long and fruitful career. Hopefully she and her mom will iron out the "Danielle wants to be there for every moment of this," vs. "Christine wants to spread her wings" tension we all saw, because otherwise somebody's going to blow and it won’t be pretty.
Teresa is almost ready to pop, and can't stop talking about sex while Caroline and Jacqueline get a mental picture of it over their salads – oh, that cracked me up. Beware the puffy chuckie. Similarly Albie can't quite wrap his head around thinking that when Lauren and Vito are alone, something more than hand-holding might be going on. Oh, the faces ... I am absolutely loving the cutaways where everyone is one step away from screaming, "Bring on the brain bleach!!"
Laundry. Wow. I cannot believe that Ashley arrived at her mom's house with a garbage bag of laundry, and expected her to put down the baby and do it. Yes, 18 year olds can get into bars and when they date 22 year olds it's that much easier, but if you come into your mother's house and announce this, you'd better expect raised voices and a lecture on designated drivers at the very least... Good on Jacqueline for sending her AND the soiled separates away.
Gia goes for a casting and is pretty damned adorable, and the Manzo kids have a thwarted ham fight. Christine shoots her Daily cover (a little Real Housewives cross-over with Kelly's ex-husband Gilles Bensimon behind the camera) and again we see tension in Christine's face, particularly when Mom gets up on the set with her. There's a reason why photographers and art directors sometimes want to keep the Mom busy, so the model has a chance to let loose.
So now we're onto the Danielle vs everyone else drama and I’m wondering whether the whole season is going to be about this fight. We've lived through that on our show with the Jill/Bethenny situation, though there weren't any court cases or kidnapping or people calling each other garbage. Here's my thought. Most of this conflict feels forced – it blew up so crazily last year that these ladies are never going to be friends. So why bother? Why save two extra seats at a luncheon for people who are not going to come no matter what? Why have all these stilted scenes about not wanting to be together? And my biggest question, why are there multiple women named Kim at the lunch? Was anyone else confused by that? Didn't we see short haired Kim last week being two faced, then a longer haired Kim this week stating that "she's not Caroline's friend?" I don’t know, but so far I want to see more moms jumping into photo shoots and uncomfortable pauses over people's sex lives and hairless cats and flying ham ... and less empty chairs at tables and people sitting down to tell others whom to spend time with. From a somewhat dispassionate perspective, I enjoy watching both camps on TV – they don't have to mix!
Hey Alex, Great blog as always. You are usually right on concerning not only the new york wives, but the jersey ones as well! Too funny, but quite entertaining to say the least. But kind of sad too seeing most of these "woman" make complete asses of themselves for the world to see.. Whatever floats your boat! On another MORE Important note, is it possible for you and Simon to come to Long Island to do a book promo? In Huntington, there are some great bookstores that often host some really cool signings, and there's a great Barnes & Noble in East Northport/Commack area off jericho tpke! I will tell all my friends, they'll all pass the word and so on, and I'll get to meet my favorite lady from the show! Just sayin..lol.. Much love and health to you, Simon and your beautiful boys.. Hope to see you soon!
Two words - You Rock!
You are by far the classiest of the classy on any of the Housewives shows. I love that you stood your ground with the Jill scenario. We love you and your family! You should have your own Bravo show if you ask me!
Keep entertaining us! Can't wait to see the show tonight!!!
Blah blah blah! Enjoying your sudden popularity, Alex? I think your few confrontations with Jill is laughable! Enjoy your time FINALLY being on a team... being picked, and not last... Well, maybe last. Seems you were only "picked" because there was no one else there. Do you not remember Ramona & Bethany BOTH badmouthing you, Simon, your children, your home, etc? I can't for the life of me figure out why you're only upset with Jill. You're a passive-aggressive whiny gossip. You're actually quite boring. I find Simon so much more entertaining!
grl i feel u on the hole kids thing i hav a 2 yr old and a 7mth old and they do the damedist things.my little grls r out of this world.
Alex, you're awesome! And BTW, you are NOT a mean girl and you are NOT in high school! No matter how many times I see that clip, I will not get tired of it!
The NJ girls have issues...but don't we all?
(Doesn't it make you happy that your only housewives drama is that people think Simon might, perhaps, in some universe, be gay?)
I enjoyed your blog, and I have LUV LUV LOVED watching you this season! Wish I had that class. :)
hahahaha... alex i don't know you at all... but you are spot on. so funny. i wish i would have seen kelly's ex. i don't even know what he looks like.
by the way, remember at the reunion show for nyc when jill starts crying because her mom would be ashamed for the way the girls were acting... WELL.... jill use to be one of my favorites until this season and she is acting exactly how i thought she wouldn't act... since her mom is probably watching... right?
Classy as always, Love you always will! I see and agree with what you see 1000000% Keep it coming classy diva! Love to your wonderful husband & adorable kids!
Alex, you & Bethanny are the only 2 women on the show I love. Please stay as you are!! Your wonderful and so is Bethanny
You are having a great year, Alex, and your insight on the NJ girls is spot on. Wish they would read your blog, too. If there has ever been someone who did a complete 180, image-wise, it's you. The first year you were sooooo strange and now you are not only not as strange, I'd venture to say that you are downright exemplary. And yes, your lack of self-promotion on the after-show was VERY appreciated after hearing "buy the book" so often from other castmates.
I really enjoyed your blog about RHNJ 5/17. It's refreshing to read your perspective on the things that are going on in NJ! I have to agree with the confusing Kims! I got lost for a second there, as well! For me, I'd like to see more variety in the show as well, and so much less focus on Danielle. We all realize what type of person she is, so let's move on. I, too, want to see more ham fights and sauce making! :)
I am so pleased that you are a guest blogger for RHNJ. You are my favorite housewife of all-time because you bring a sense of intelligence, class, style, and humor to the show, which is a 180 of what we see with most of the other housewives.
I have even begun trying to emulate your graciousness because it's incredibly inspiring to me. I would never have been able to handle the "Bobby at the clothing donation party" situation like you did, but I like to think that I'll get it someday.
I simply cannot wait to read more of your blogs! Best to you!
Alex- I love love love how you handled JILL. You have a great sense for class and are a great soul. Cheers Doll!
Alex, I applaud you for standing up to Jill, she is a mean girl and always has a negative comment about everyones activities. She was my favorite the first season but now I find her to be a know-it-all on every subject and full of herself. Money surely can't buy you class,if it did Kelly,Luann and Jill surely missed the sale!
Alex,to those who say you should have taken Jill aside to deliver the message from Betthany. Are they kidding?Do they actually think that Jill would've stood still long enough for you to even speak? I'm so glad that you gave it to her in front of everyone. It was probably the only way that it would actually sink in.BRAVO girl.I'm sooooo proud of you.Stay classy&true.
Alex, out of all the housewives, you are the only honest one. I watch N.J. and N.Y. and find it refreshing to see you (and Simon). The others housewives should take some notes!. I always enjoy the look on your face like "yove've got to be kidding me".
