Melissa Gorga Just Learned a Huge Beauty Lesson

Have you ever seen the Sex and the City episode where Samantha shows up to Carrie's book release party with a severely red face from a chemical burn? Well, she may not have had as severe a reaction, but Melissa Gorga learned the hard way to be very, very careful when getting beauty treatments.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 premiere May 5th at 8/9c on Bravo and stream next day on Peacock.

In the video above, The Real Housewives of New Jersey Envy boutique owner explains why chemical peels and sunlight don't mix well.

"I was freaking out before because I had gotten a chemical peel done to my face ... they brought me to a vineyard, put me in the hot sun, I started to melt away. I had a freak attack, I had to run out and then we had to move the tables into the shade."

Chemical peels make the skin much more sensitive to sunlight, which is likely what caused the reaction.

"My face was on fire, hence why my face was all red."

You've all been warned: Wear your SPF!
