Now this show has fizzled a little bit for me. This and the last episode was less than riveting. By the way, for the record, I have no issue with New Jersey. I really don’t know much about it except that Atlantic City is in Jersey and I love me a good casino. When I have said, "I'm not big on Jersey," it simply means that I don’t know much about it. I am, however, big on Caroline. What is so likable about her is her "this is how it is" mentality. She isn’t into bling or flash. She is into her family which will continue to be the overriding theme on this show. Her husband shows his face once in a while which is more than I can say for the other men. It isn't a coincidence that they aren't around, and this will ultimately frustrate the viewer who likes to see it all.
Danielle is the fascinating character with her many levels. She seems desperate and tragic, yet she is really upfront and honest which lessens the desire to loathe her. The viewer just wants honesty whether it's about phone sex or younger men or plastic surgery. This is the one thing she has going for her. However, I don't really think anyone else is being dishonest. I just don’t think there is anything particularly interesting about them.
There’s a stage mom who doesn't seem to have all that much going on besides children's photo shoots and a home renovation, a sweet and passive mother who can't discipline her daughter and wants to have children. Her husband is completely absent and we see no dynamic, no struggle nor no particular passion here. Dina is now struggling with her career and seems to be conflicted about her relationship with her daughter and with her husband as well. The issue here is that the viewer is in the dark. Perhaps her marriage is perfect and he hates reality TV and cameras. There is a huge flaw in that we are getting half families here. The big moment in this show is the less than riveting gossip and conflict between Dina and Danielle and the imminent scandal that will surface about Danielle and possibly some residual Dina gossip.
Someone here needs to do something because I’m barely hanging in.
