I'm trying to work on communicating with her differently and trying to remember what that stage in life was like for me. The perspective from the eyes of a child is much different than the perspective of an adult. I know it's not easy, but it could be a lot easier. It's a work in progress. Next week, our saga continues... See you then! XOXO!

Jacqueline, I don't think you and Chris "spoil" Ashley, it's just her personality and you are both doing the best you can. Hope she watches herself on the shows and learns something.
After watching the last show my husband has asked for me to greet him at the door wearing a sexy top with the shoulders cut out, high heels and a drink....might be fun!
I'm wondering one thing... I wish you had addressed your husband's comment about Kim needing a "smack" - does your husband condone domestic abuse? I was just very surprised because I usually REALLY like you guys, but that comment just THREW me... "she deserved a smack" - fact or otherwise, not a very becoming thing for a gentleman to say... it definitely changed the way I look at Chris, and I just wish you had addressed that in the blog. You don't strike me as the type that would be married to someone who thought hitting women was okay. That's all.
As a mother of five, it just seems kids are taking longer to grow up these days. I think Ashley is tired of hearing she is a problem. I know I would be and what an effort you all are making. Resentment turns into negative behavior. I knw becacuse growing up all I hear was what I did wrong and never what I did right.
Jacqueline, You and your husband Chris are just too cute for words! He is such a sweetheart and tries so hard with Ashley, I also think one day she will realize it and be grateful. Hopefully that day will be sooner rather than later, cross your fingers! Oh, and thank you for letting us know that we will no longer have to see Kim G making trouble for you ladies and your families, it's about time!
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU and your whole family! Keep up the good work of being a wonderful mom, wife, sister-in-law and friend!
I was truly disgusted with Kim G. It's obvious she will do anything for more air time, she is pretty pathetic. I wouldn't even tell the old wench hello. I couldn't believe it took so long for Monica to leave. I would have left right away, embarrased. I like you Jaq, I think you have good heart. I am concerned with you and Ashleys relationship. It is none of my business. It just seems you need to really have a talk with her and let her know, how much you love and like her and how much she means to you, without any negative comments.
Dear Caroline first SEASON Didnt Really Like You and i am truly sorry about it isee what a true friend you are to teresa -can you tell bravo its hosewives show not melissa-her husband show -cant take them anymore bravo housewives shows are getting out of sink they also need to dump ny wives i only watch for the blonds side their the only ones that are funny and make the show
So glad Kim G is gone. When Caroline got in her face and called her out on everything I was like "yesssssssss!!" Finally someone put that witch in her place. Loved, loved her getting kicked out. Please don't let her back on the show. Love the show and everyone on it with the exception of cousin Kathy. She seems like another troublemaker. Keep thrilling us!
I'm a huge fan! I think you and your husband are great. You are both great parents and such a nice couple. I think the best thing you can do for your family is to run as far away as you can from Kim G. She is another Danielle and your family doesn't need the drama.
Love and light!
First Jacqueline you and Chris are awesome, but the way Ashley acted at HER birthday party was horrible. She sat there ignoring everying and texting most of the time. How very rude! And the comment that Chris can't by her love.... That is all she wants is for you both to buy her everything. I hope she grows out of this or I'm afraid she is going to be more like Danielle than you. It must be frustrating, because I can see how much she hurts Chris.
Miss Jacqueline, I'm actually dying with laughter right now lol (I hope Bravo posts my comment) When you said "WHY the heck Kim chose to bring a bodyguard to "Jesus's 89th Birthday" party!"- my thought's exactly lol...and I didn't know "JEEZE-US" was turning 89 either. I think it's great and refreshing that you seem to always have Teresa's back and stick up for her like a true, unconditional friend. Kim G was clearly there with Monica Chacon to stir the pot and you called her on it. In regards to Chris's situation with Ashlee, You and your husband seem to give your daughter the world & want the best for her so I don't really think there's anymore you could do, you're doing the best you can. Keep being your hilarious self, I loved watching you and Teresa in the Catskills with your husbands! "Nutella Calzone" Sincerely, Loyal Canadian Viewer
Just want to say you are one of my favorite housewives. I know it's for New Jersey but as a California girl, you will always be a west coast girl to me lol. I just want to say as a mother I can definitely understand your frustrations with Ashley. Ashley though definitely reminds me of myself. I grew up in a divorce with a stepfather as well. However Ashley and Chris have a better relationship than me and my stepfather did. Its definitely hard and I can understand why Ashley puts her father on a pedestal. It's because he's not there for her to see any day of the week. It's one of those things where space and distance make you really appreciate that person more than you would others that are constantly there. Am I condoning Ashley for her actions? No. This is just coming from personal experience so that you maybe understand why it seems she shows her father more respect than she would you or Chris. What Ashley doesn't know is that either you or Chris could leave this world in a second. I learned this the hard way. I speak of my stepfather in past tense because he passed away May 2009 in a motorcycle accident. He and I fought like cats and dogs and I know it frustrated him that I treated my dad better than I treated him even though he had always been there. Brian (my stepdad) had left my life in a millisecond and it tears me up inside that I didn't render him the respect that he deserved. It kills me that he will never know how much I truly appreciated him. If possible please share this story with Ashley so that she can possibly better appreciate you two and your constant presence in her life. As for you, and just speaking from the peanut gallery, you are such a good mother and your effort definitely shows, even if it's through a TV screen. Good luck and God bless!
Sincerely SPC Gabrielle Sawyer US Army
I think Ashley will realize it too when she is older. One thing, if she loves being with her dad so much why doesn't she move to Texas? She is not a kid anymore. Maybe if she did that she would see how great it is in NJ. Or does she already know that deep down and doesn't want to ruin the myth of her wonderful father?
Great blog, Jacqueline. I love how you see everyone's point of view and tell it like it is. When you read other blogs, you only read their very delusional view of what happened. We all see things the same way as you.
This party was a drama queen's dream. Kim G has been angry since the end of last session, and I think it was because SHE wasn't asked to be one of the new housewives. She brought Monica in order to become the center of attention and to have the cameras on her. She knew perfectly well what was going to happen, and so did Monica. I agree with you that if she were ANY friend at all, and her only intention was to be nice, that she should have left with her friend. They came together and they should have left together. She is horrible, and I hope that Bravo TV keeps to "keeping" her out of any future drama. I think that Joe G and Melissa did the right thing by asking Monica to leave, and that Chris did the right thing by his Mom. I would hope that my son would stick up for me in the same manner.
Love love love you and Caroline!!!!!!! I would love to come to one of the Manzo family gatherings! So reminds me of my family xmas eve's. You guys are so awesome! From here on out I'm Team CJ! Such a doll face!
You are so funny and I totally love the relationship you have with your husband. And as far as Ashley she of course needs time to grow up and mature, she is still in the me, me, me stage but hopefuly she gets over it soon.
I think it's obvious why Kim G. brought a body guard to the party. She came there to start trouble for Teresa. I hope you stay away from Kim G. She nothing but a troublemaker. Poor Johnny.
Jacqueline, have you ever considered maybe talking to someone who's been in Ashley's shoes and came through it? I think that might help you both to better understand each other's position and get closer as a family...
Hello Jacqueline! Your family is one of my favorites to watch out of all the housewives shows. One question: What the heck took yall so long to get that snake(Kim G.) off your show?! Mad, mad, mad props to all of yall!
Love, love, love watching the show Peace and Hugs!
Love you this year too. I'm glad that you aren't allowing Ashley much air time. She still is too disrespectful of others. I hope she is working.
I also leave it to you and Caroline to straighten Teresa's husband out regarding how he spoke of Melissa. I know you weren't there, but you both and your husbands could approach Jo regarding such filty, desrespectful behavior toward a woman.
You are such a gracious girl.....and I love your take on everything. All of the cast makes it a fun show for our family to watch, however, you and your family are definitely our favorites.
You know sweetie, I've always liked you from the start... Always been the mediator, never tried to get in between anyone, yet wanted things to work out with everyone... Gave everyone the benefit of the doubt.. But it is what it is... Sometimes the S#*t hits the fan, and you finally see what it is all about. I commend you on all that you do. I wish the best for you and your family, and totally look forward to seeing you again. You seem to look better and better. What is your secret??? All the luck to you and your family, and I hope that your daughter finally finds her peace in her life and know what an awesome step-dad she has in your husband... Aloha!!!
I was wondering where you purchased and what brand was the black dress you wore in the beginning of each episode in the beginning imagine? I love it so
Kim G should have been gone a long time ago. I feel she created alot of conflict with Danielle and everyone else. Ya! Danielle did a lot of this herself, but Kim G was the little devil on her shoulder most of the time. By the way. I love the way your house is decorated. It is my favorite out of all the Real Housewives houses.
Hi Jacqueline, first let me start off by saying I love watching the show every week and your family is great. What does bother me is how ungrateful Ashley is to the both of you. I just watched the latest x-mas episode where Ashley didn't get either of you a x-mas present and her re-action to it was basically oh-well. It is not right to be treated that way especially the things your husband and you do for her. Have you ever tried cutting her off to show her any lessons??? If not, maybe that would be a great idea, then she will be able to appreciate the things that she does have and the things the two of you do for her.
Jacqueline, you are by far my favorite on the show, and I think you and Chris are amazing parents. I know it's hard, but you should try to stop making excuses for Ashlee/y. She is old enough to realize how blessed she is-- I am not much older than her, but I knew at age 20 how blessed I am/was. I have faith that she will mature, and looking back on these episodes is probably making the maturity speed itself up a bit. From the looks of it, it doesn't look like her behavior is your fault. Keep up the good parenting-- she'll learn. :)
Love you! Ashley will grow up one day. She's just taking longer than other people. Maybe it's your fault, maybe it's her personality. It will work out one day, because you never demean her and you censure her with love.
Years from now you will not remember that your daughter didn't give you presents believe me!! My daughter is 29 yoa & for the first time ever she wired me flowers for Mother's Day!! It has taken years for her to realize how much I love her & that I am always there for her.....your daughter will come around.
HELL YA! LOVINGGGGG***** your metaphors ! But seriously, I can NOT get over the fact that she brought bodygaurds... WHO DOES THAT?!? I just couldnt take it seriously that someone as old as she is, went there with bad intentions, and not to mention intentions of creating massive drama. Kim G is a DRAMA (G)MAMA. When the Gorga's told her that Monica had to leave, I thought it was so BIZARE that she was being SO insistant on letting her friend stay ! like HELLO....... did she not realize she was in Teresa's brothers house and talking sh@# about Teresa was COMPLETELY out of line ????!!!!
BTW, I'm the same age as Ashley! And I don't know the real deal behind your relationship.... buttttt I just wanted to say that I work SO hard, like Ashley, and still feel jaded that I live at home with my parents. It seems like no matter how humanly possible you try at the age of 20... you still can't afford it! And I come from a well-off family with parents who are just like you and let me tell you... NOTHING is more frustrating than trying hard and still not being able to get out of this stage of funk.... im at this awkward stage where no matter how hard you try... it's like you're almost still stuck in the same position, and let me tell youuuu ... I can't wait to break free from! :)
I just want to comment on your husband. He is such a gorgeous sexy man, and he isn't trying to steal scenes by throwing it all out there. I love how he is the voice of reason. He sits back, observes, then comments. I also love how in the family scenes you sit by him with your head on his shoulder. What a beautiful family you are.
Keep staying strong! I understand your pain with your daughter, been there, done that! It gets better, hopefully sooner rather than later.
Jacqueline, I truly admire you. The beauty that comes from within really radiates outward and enjoy reading your blogs and watching the show. You are gorgeous!
Dear Jacqueline, Your daughter will change. Give it a few years and she will come back to you and Chris. Hang in there !
