Fiery Italian

Teresa explains why it was hard to apologize to Joey.

Sorry my blog is late, but I was doing a lot of travelling this week, including another Fabulicious! book signing in Miami and Boca Raton. I loved meeting you all! And thank you, thank you, thank you! My book is on the New York Times bestseller list again! I cannot even believe it. For my parents to come to America with nothing (except for me in my mother's belly!), for me to grow up speaking Italian first and then learn English (I still think in Italian a lot -- could be why I mix up words sometimes, and sometimes make up a mix of my own like a lot of people who speak multiple languages), and to now have had two books on the New York Times bestseller list... there are no words. I'm so honored to be able to share some of my family's story and our recipes with you. Your support means the world to me. And thank you so much for sharing your own family stories with me too.

It makes the whole thing a tiny bit easier knowing we're not the only family to have gone through something like this. I'm doing everything I can to try and make our family whole again. I guess only time will tell... At least we've never punched each other, right? If Jacqueline and Caroline can get past that and be as close as they are now, there's hope for all of us, right? I really do think it's just a bunch of little things, tit for tat, that built up. But at the end of the day, it's not one big thing, and hopefully we can all get past it. At least I will never stop trying. My kids and my parents deserve nothing less. I've apologized three times now on the show -- and a million other times you don't see! -- and believe me, I don't say "sorry" easily. I don't know if it's the fiery Italian in me that makes that word so hard to say, but I'll say and do anything to make my family whole again.

I hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day. I'm so blessed to be able to tell my wonderful father how much I love him. My heart goes out to everyone who's lost their dad. And I'm so grateful to Joe for being such a great father to our girls. We love you!
