Getting Saucy

Caroline explains why she didn't want to be the face of The Brownstone Sauce.

By Caroline Manzo

Hello! Happy Sunday! Hope it was a good one!

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 premiere May 5th at 8/9c on Bravo and stream next day on Peacock.

This episode was so much fun! It was nice to see everyone getting along and doing their thing; let’s hope this is the start of a new, happier trend in Jersey. I don’t know about you, but I’ve got my fingers, toes, and even my eyes crossed!

What a wonderful experience it must have been for Melissa and Gia to perform at Beatstock. We’ve been before, and the crowd is full of energy and ready to have a good time. They both went out there and gave their best. Congratulations, girls, well done!

I’m happy to see Kathy pursue her passion for baking by bringing it to a different level. I’ve been lucky enough to sample quite a few of her desserts, and I can say without a doubt that she is the real deal. Hopefully you’ll see more in the coming weeks. The only problem is as I watch, I want! Maybe I should place an order with her next time so I don’t have to deprive myself. I also like that she went old school and started at a neighborhood ice cream shop that’s familiar to us all. We went as kids, and we still love it to this day. I wish Kathy the best of luck; I hope she remembers to keep the samples coming!

The Fancy Food Show was a lot of fun, and a lot of work! Nothing makes me happier than watching my boys work with my brother and my nephew, Joe. They’re an excellent team that compliments each other. I can understand Chris’ concern, and I’m right there with him. Work hard and play later. However, I did enjoy watching the boys have fun. What Albie said is true; they have been traveling non-stop and busting their butts to get BLK out there. As a matter of fact, I’m sure we’ve even met quite a few of you who are reading right now at a BLK tasting somewhere along the way. If you have been to one, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. It’s also true when Albie said they haven’t made a dime. All the money has been going right back into the company, and they’ve been working for pretty much nothing. Times have been rough, but the reward has been worth it. The BLK booth was gorgeous and Chris was right when he guessed that they would be busy. It was chaos, but a very good chaos. Chris, Albie, Christopher, Joe, and Gianluca knocked it out of the park, and I was so happy to be there and watch it first hand. Check out their website (www.blkbeverages.com) to see where it’s carried in your area! P.S. you can also get the BLK t-shirts there too.Oh, I almost forgot! Let’s give a shout out to Miss Patti LaBelle! How adorable was Gregg while he was speaking to her? She was so gracious and kind, and I nearly died when she tried the BLK and loved it. Sometimes I just have to pinch myself, that moment was one of those times. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Miss Patti! xoxo

How cute is my Albert? I love him to death for wanting to put this face of mine on The Brownstone sauce jar, but I agree with the boys, it’s not my sauce! It’s The Brownstone recipe that they’ve been using for over 30 years was derived from Al’s grandparents. I didn’t belong on the jar, and I’m glad Al changed his mind. I will tell you this -- it’s phenomenal. No preservatives, sugar, dyes, gluten free, and made with the best ingredients. I’ve been after Al to jar the sauce for about 8 years now, and it’s been a 5-year process, but it’s finally here! He doesn’t know this, but I’m hoping he will move over to Brownstone packaged goods and semi-retire. Again, fingers crossed! One of my absolute favorite things to watch is the interaction between my boys and their dad as he asks for advice on packaging, shipping methods, food brokers, etc, etc. They tease him relentlessly, but he’s a great sport and is beyond proud of them. Those Manzo men, they’re cuties with brains and heart. XoxoxoP.S. check out The Brownstone Sauce on The Brownstone website www.thebrownstone.com -- We have Marinara, Tomato Basil, and Vodka.

OK, I’ve talked too much. As always, thank you so much for watching, and I hope to see you all again next week. xoxo
