Wine Tears

Episode 16: Bravotv.com Associate Editor is still teary after all the birthday speeches.

Aug 20, 2012

No. 1 - Wine Tears

It's hard to throw a good birthday for a mom. Moms have a knack for making it extremely difficult to celebrate their birthday -- they don't want anything, they don't want a big party, etc. But you know they do, which leaves you at a total loss as to how to proceed. Thus I think the Manzo kids had the right idea -- disregard anything mom says, we're throwing a surprise party. Deal with it!

And really who can argue with a beautiful dinner overlooking a Napa vineyard? Couple that with some beautiful and emotional speeches from your children and you have yourself an undeniably successful fete. Hats off to you, Albie, Chris, and Lauren. (Though I think my own mother will have to settle for a view of the rolling hills of the backyard this year.)

Side note: Although Joe Giudice's speech was at first a little awkward (seeing as he couldn't remember The Brownstone), he did manage to make it pretty touching. With all the wine that was consumed, I'm surprised everyone wasn't sobbing throughout the entire meal like Teresa.

I stayed up late to watch "Watch What Happens" after the big fight; I just knew he would have a poll for who's side are you on? for the Caroline Theresa fight.  I was ready to vote for Theresa many times over...Caroline was horrible!  on RHONJ and WWH.  I was horrified by her behaviour on both shows.  Worse then watching "Jaws".

I eggmit it, being with Kathy is a comforting, safe place to be.  Baked goods help, too.  You have a nice "take" on things from the episode.  I guess we will fasten our seatbelts for the remainder of the season, eh?

Caroline's surprise birthday dinner was just lovely.  Such a setting.  I would very much like to see a group event in which Teresa takes a backseat to the others.  Just once.  I also disagree with the notion that she is picked on.  I see her as the aggressor, not the victim.

I think perhaps Bravo is missing the mark with a new reality show.  Take Teresa and Ramona from RHONYC, and put them into a Hunger Games arena.  I honestly do not know which one would win.  But I think they would be fairly evenly matched.

Andrew, I'm from Northern California and wonder who planned the trip to California?  There are so many beautiful places to stay in and around Half Moon Bay and all the way up to the Napa Valley and beyond.  And yet, you had them stay in parking lots and run down camp grounds.  What's up with that?  They spend $4,000+ on silly camping supplies instead of staying at nice resorts/hotels on the beach?  That's makes no sense, but then I understand you're trying to create the most drama possible, at the expense of our beautiful state.  I can't wait to see this week's episode.  They're still airing the last two weeks' reruns here and it's a total joke.  Regarding the high jinz between the ladies, I really think this is all "made for TV".  Reminds me of when we were growing up and our parents thought that the wrestling matches were real.  Then one day, while eating out in SF, my family saw two of the most vicious arch-rivals eating dinner together and having a great time with their families.  It was hysterically funny.  We're going to learn later on that the network put these guys up to this stuff because you know what?  We all watch!!!

I just don't know if I can stick it out until the end of the season.  I was trying to make it until the fashion show so I could see how it goes down, but the show is just getting too hard to watch.  I never watch reruns - too hard the first time.  It just makes me feel so dirty being entertained by other peoples misery.  Is this what Bravo really wants?

Andrew Hermann beleives the hype he builds up for us....nice.  Ratings rule= drama and broken hearts.

Does Bravo read these blogs? Trust me all the viewers that write on Teresa's blog and Caroline's blog are real. We actually watch the show and see what is going on. What is going is not fair how Teresa is being treated. Bravo and the other mean women are very unfair to Tresa. Read the blogs and see how many people support Tresa and how many people hate Caroline and Kathy. Please make this show more fun. Please, please, please get rid of the mean ones.

Glad to see you got posted.  I pretty much said the same thing plus some 3 days ago, could be 4 days, anyway they never posted it.  I totally agree with you about the way Teresa has been treated completely unfair with the editing.  It all smells to high heaven & makes me wonder why the producers & editors are playing favorites.  I would be so happy if the Manzo's, Laurita's & Wakiles got the boot from the show.  I don't think that will happen though because of the relationship they have with the people in power.  I'm sure this won't make it to post because they are selective regarding who it is your writing about & what you say.  Oh well I tried.

Hey Andrew! Always enjoy reading what you have to say! The setting for Caroline's BD dinner couldn't have been more beautiful! After hearing what her children had to say, it gave me a small hope that just maybe there might be a little of what I used to like about her is still there somewhere! She has become increasingly difficult to stomach this season! I honestly change the channel most of the time when she's on this season! Joe's dreadful phone call was absolutely digusting! Then T taking him off in the vineyard was embarrassing to ME! And I was here alone, lol!! Personally, I really didn't think for a minute that her toast was anything but being thrilled that she & Joe & Melissa had spent so many days together without incident. Frankly, had she included Kathy & Richie, I can't even imagine her humiliation over that, TOO, after seeing all the smack talk that had gone on between everyone! Well see ya back here next week, hope you have a good one!

There is no comedy, no excuses, no words that can over-shadow what Joe Giudice did to Teresa.  I applaud Bravo for airing this even though she begged them not to.  This puts a different light on why Teresa had those tears....perhaps she was looking down the road and realized she may never have the harmony and respect that Caroline has from her family.  This is not the first time he has humiliated her nor used vulgar language toward her.  Thank God Bravo did the right thing and perhaps, if she chooses to stay with him, they can get some help.  I feel sorry for her ...who raised this man?  Glad I don't live in Jersey.

I don't know what living in Jersey has to do with anything.

hwatcher Oh, sure, because there aren't any ignorant people anywhere else, right? What a dumb comment - but WE'RE glad you don't live in Jersey, too.

One should not be happy when others are in misery.  It seems that all reality shows are about negativity and not enough on the positive.  However, someone is watching, and I am pointing the first finger at myself.

hwatcher i think her world is falling apart.  Her crying had more to do with how she has felt towards everyone there including Joe than it had to do with being jealous.

I cannot wait to see next weeks episode. Teresa put her own foot in her mouth right there. She is always stating it was a joke it was joke for everything she does and says and here she is proving it doesn't feel good joke or not if it's hurtful.
