Girls' Night Out

Episode 10: Bravotv.com's Assistant Editor hopes Rosie finally remembered Brianne's name.

By Andrew Herrmann

No. 3 - Doctor's Orders

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 premiere May 5th at 8/9c on Bravo and stream next day on Peacock.

So after much ado, Teresa and Joe finally saw a therapist together. Hurrah! Let the healing begin.

They each met with the doctor separately to give their side of the story and related what we've seen play out over the past few episodes (and seasons for that matter). No surprises there. It was only when the doctor brought them in together that things got interesting.

The therapist notes that really this issue should be easily resolved since they both want the same thing. (Clearly this guy has never watched the show...) His first recommendation: reinstating Sunday dinners. Great plan, because good food is always the key to family bonding. Second that they each focus on one thing NOT to do when they see each other every week. Another great idea, but maybe it shouldn't be limited to only one thing. But hey, I'm no therapist.

Both Teresa and Joe were receptive to these suggestions, which seems like a positive step forward already. Just as the session was winding down, Teresa casually mentions that their families are going to Napa together. So hey, why not up the hanging out more stakes by sharing an RV? I think if you were in the therapist's head at that moment you would have seen a car screeching as it drives off a cliff and subsequently explodes. No, don't do it! I don't think it's possible the therapist could have made that any clearer. Wine plus small spaces equals a recipe for disaster. Yep, I'm with the doctor on this one. But Teresa and Joe clearly are not afraid of a challenge. "Let's prove Dr. Michael wrong," Teresa says. Thank God for strict no drinking while driving laws and the fact that all furniture is bolted down in an RV...

No. 2 - Don't Mess with Rosie's Family

Rosie keeps it real. I think she should be the intermediary for every potential argument or misunderstanding on the show, because Rosie is incapable of being anything but straightforward. She sees her sister being maligned in articles, doesn't like it, and confronts the issue head on: "This tabloid sh-- needs to f---in' stop." She's certainly not one to mince words.

But the best part is that although she may be blunt, she's still sensitive to another person's side of the story. She feels for Teresa and Joe regarding all the negativity that they have had to deal with in the tabloids. Rosie just wants it to stop on all sides. Maybe we really do need Rosie for president.

Side note: Love that Rosie admits to be ridiculously hung over after her, shall we say, enthusiastic love fest at the single release party.

No. 1 - Girls' Night Out

Rosie's coming out is the gift that keeps on giving. Sure we had the beautiful, tear-jerking scene between her and the kids, but what brought me even more joy was seeing Kathy play wing-woman to Rosie at a gay bar.

I can't decide whether it was foolish or inspired for Rosie to bring Kathy along. On the one hand, Kathy's so sweet and motherly that she might not exude the right vibe for picking up potential love interests. On the other hand, the warm, inviting aura might lure them all in and leave them open to conversation. Unclear. However they did manage to successfully get the digits from at least one lady, so it wasn't a complete bust.

I will say Kathy wasn't afraid to roll up her sleeves and get in there. (This may or may not have been due to the many tequila shots consumed that evening.) She took her mission seriously, grabbing Rosie to go "do some damage." And she offered Rosie one of the most important lessons in flirting history, so take note:

"First rule of thumb: remember the bitch's name."

We're hoping Rosie managed to remember Brianne's name after the second go around.
