After visiting The University of Maryland, I actually gained a new perspective and became much more open to Victoria going away to school. As I mentioned, I didn't go to college and I really didn't know what to expect from campus life. The students that gave us a tour were wonderful and so informative, we were lucky to hear all of their experiences. I'm glad that they had a great sense of humor as well.
Visiting our nation's capital was an added bonus to our trip. Although we have visited Washington D.C. with Victoria and Joseph before, this trip was much more profound since they are a little older and were able to gain more appreciation from the experience. It was a great way for Rich and me to share some of our family's history and the sacrifices our parents made to start new lives in America. As we sat at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial it isn't hard to become inspired as we look around and recognize the struggles and sacrifices of our forefathers that have fought for our freedom have made.
I leave you this week with my final thoughts and prayers for all the victims of 9/11 and their families. For the survivors I pray that you find peace. I continue to give thanks to the brave men and women that protect us and our country's freedom here and overseas.
Lots of Love,
