I really don't want to go over old wounds, but when it comes to my cookbook, I do have to set the record straight, because you're only seeing things taken out of context. This is my livelihood, and like any other businesswoman, I have to defend it. (Mr. Trump taught me well!) I didn't know everyone was going to pick out tiny pieces of my cookbook to talk about on the show, but I want you to have the whole story. So here it is, once and for all. (Then we can all move on!)
I worked really hard on them and am very proud of my cookbooks. It means the world to me to be able to share my family's recipes with you and your families. As I explained in both books, my "family" recipes are my mother's and her grandmother's (who raised my mom and I was named after) and Joe's mother's. I'm my mom's only daughter and I've been cooking with her since I could walk. She passed down her recipes to me, and we created new ones together over the years. I'm sure Melissa and Kathy's moms (who are not related to my mom) have great recipes too, and maybe one day we'll all do an extended-family-and-cousins-and-in-laws cookbook together, but for now, my mama and I are enjoying preserving our recipes for my daughters.
As for the jokes in my cookbooks... I've always had them in all of my books. Funny books sell better. Bethenny's humor helped her books sell, the Skinny Bitch authors’ jokes helped their books sell, and I think one of the reasons Skinny Italian was so successful is because I put my personality in it. I joke about myself A LOT and I joked about my life, which includes my friends and family. I joked about Dina's insane love of meat. I joked about how where Caroline grew up in Brooklyn, they pronounced herb as "hoib." I joked about the O.C. Housewives, Atlanta Housewives, Andy Cohen, US Weekly, America's Next Top Model, and a million other things. My cookbooks are not for 5-star chefs. They're for my fans and regular housewives, who I happen to think are pretty hilarious themselves. I wanted my books to read like a fun novel, not a boring cookbook.
I love you Teresa!! You truly are a class act.instead of bashing everyone in your blogs like they are you took the high road...it's sad to me that during the roughest time in your life everyone had to kick you while you were already down but don't worry because you are coming out on top!! Keep shining!
Thank you for clearing all of that up. I really do believe you. I think Caroline wants to stay relevant on the show so she has to pick a fight with you. She fought with Danielle on season 1 and 2 and now she has turned her bullying on to you. She needs to stop worrying about your relationship with Melissa and start worrying about why her biological sister isn't speaking to her!
Teresa, I am glad to hear that you are doing much better. Financial issues can really affect you and your marriage. I hope that you have found peace and understanding and take full responsibility of the things you have done or said. Forgiveness and reparation with family and friends can only begin when we admit our wrongs and stop blaming others. Jealousy is an evil thing and many times we say others are jealous only to realize that we ourselves are the jealous ones. Many times as I struggle to help pay for bills and see that we are short, it bothers me when friends call and tell me of their beautiful vacations they are planning or new cars they have bought. At the end of the day, I have to really reflect on the beautiful gifts that God has given me and focus on that. Money really isn't everything! My husband was once on top of the real estate market and when it came crumbling down, so did he. He was never home, always traveling for work; but now he is home with our daughter and myself. We spend more quality time together than before. You have a beautiful family, a brother that loves you no matter what you have said or done to him- he has proven his loyalty to you. Your parents are still around and you can enjoy them still. It is the little things in life that really mean the most. As a Catholic, prayer is the only way to overcome difficult times. Pray, pray, pray that your family will overcome all that has been negative and be a positive model to all that no matter what bad comes your way you can still be positive without pointing fingers. Remember, when you point a finger you still have three pointing back at yourself, so no one is ever innocent. Be strong and prove to your family your loyalty, show them that they are important to you by respecting them and their loved ones, and the respect will be given back to you.
You know, the first two seasons of rhonj, I think I overlooked what a great person you really are. Now, after seeing you on CA and the last season, reading your blogs, seeing your *true* devotion to your real friends, husband, parents and lovely girls, you've become an inspiration. I'm glad you've found success. You're the only one of this cast that deserves it.
It's hard for us Teresa fans to watch everyone ganging up & bashing you. I think you have handled your situation, from money to family issues very well. Especially having to deal with it in the public eye. It seems they all hate that you try to always put on a smile & be positive, but that takes courage & strength, & as you said is a choice! I think it is a pretty good choice! We love, love, love you & hope that you get your apologies from them that you deserve! We all know you have taken responsibility for your part over & over! Good for you & wishing you much success! As always you take the high road! Very classy as usual!
Good for you Teresa take the high road!!! Hope the other housewives especially your family can follow your example and move on. Praying you and your brother can get through this it is very obvious that you both love each other very much. You have shown great courage and love for your family over the last year. Love watching you. I like the seeds that you are planting seeds of hope strength and love! You go girl!!!!!!
Teresa, you have your flaws but who doesn't. I admire your ability to put a smile on your face and work through the tough times, as well as all the hard work you've been doing lately...keep your head up, you have a beautiful family, and forget certain people on the show...unfortunately, their jealously is pretty obvious.
Hey Teresa, What you put in your book was so trivial, no big deal.
My question is why didn't you use Dina's charity for the Apprentice ?
ps how could you stand Lisa Lampinelli ?
You make some really good points and it does seem everyone was a little overly sensitive about the cookbook jokes but I think thats because it was one more thing on top of all the other problems not just the cookbook itself.
I hope your family can really get to a happy place. No one likes to see anyone hurting. And I agree, Richie's comment was way out of line. There was no need for it. However, I do hate the way Joe and the girls speak to you. That hurts my feelings and they are not even mine. It's obvious you love them very much. They need to respect you more. Again, hope ya'll can work out the differences. I am watching certain members of my own family involved in a drama at the moment and it's very sad to watch. Especially for the kids sake.
Welcome back! I have to admit I was afraid to watch this season because I didn't think I could take another Teresa bashing season...Thank you for writing a positive and honest blog. Wish the other ladies would follow suit.
Defensive Much? Woman, you need to realize how being "right" is never an absolute. There are different perspectives besides your own and other people can be hurt by you. Grow up and try to back away from your own emotions to see the big picture. Really, 7 pages to describe all your actions. You really have no clue what's important in life. "I sincerely apologized!" Yeah right. Nobody believes that. The very tone of your voice and the way you try to control and dominate people to make them see your side? Your SIDE is obvious. People aren't stupid for not understanding it. You're too selfish to be sincere to others and everyone can sense that. You're a jerk and not a Queen so grow up and be nice to your family.
So proud of you Teresa! Everything you said in your blog hits the nail on the head 100%...I've been thinking the exact same things about everyone's reaction to your cookbook.
I'm so glad you are in such a good place right now, and if your close friends/family would treat you like they have, then I think you are much better off without them in your life. You don't need the hypocrisy and negativity emanating from them (especially Jacqueline and Caroline, both of whom I used to be big fans of) in their blogs.
I can't believe what you have become. You USED to be one of my favorites, but now you're just sad, pathetic and delusional. You need to focus on your own life and stop worrying about what others are doing. Being manipulative will get you NO WHERE in life. You need to let people have their own opinions and quit trying to push yours on them. If family means everything to you and this is how you treat them, then I would hate to see how you treat your enemies!
Just sad and pathetic!
Well that explains it all. I def think Caroline is seriously over reacting to the cook book. She needs a sense of humor serious way! Glad things are going good for you now!

Tre...you sound like your in such a better place than last year...Hopefully you take the lessons you have learned and move forward...only time will tell..i can say this...you truly love your family and when pushed will DEFEND yourself...i admire your growth and continued success.. p.s. seeing you on celebrity apprentice has shown the world the good side of Teresa...Keep it up.. Team Teresa all the way...
Good job Teresa!!! I am your fan despite what everyone says, your blog was well written and it explained all we don't see ... Keep your head up! You will be fine!
Hi T ~ I think you are amazing, and love watching Celebrity Apprentice because you are on it.....I am also addicted to RHONJ...you have been through a lot and keep your head up and dedicate yourself to your family, more people should be like you! xo Kathy H. from New Jersey
Hon, saying "You misread what I wrote and I'm sorry your feelings were hurt" isn't an apoligy--it's calling someone stupid.
So proud of the maturity you display in your blog. You touched upon all the things I wonder while watching the show. I hope everyone can stop the insanity and realize what is truly important in life. Keep the positive blogs coming no matter what you may read or hear. If you continue to rise above the fray your friends and family will have to reevaluate their relationship with you. I love to see the personal growth you have aquired through your hardships.
I would just like to say that I totally understand where you are coming from with putting on a happy face. I believe that a person has to stay as positive as possible when going through a personal trial. That is the only way for me to get through what ever I am going through. When people say that is not being real, that is maybe because they are more comfortable settling into their trial. You are on national television and shame on the rest of the housewives for trash talking you behind your back, then getting pissed because you say little things in a published book. I believe in you and how hard you are working to get out of the financial rut that most Americans are in themselves. We all need to be helped emotionally or financially sometime in our lives and there is no shame in that. Keep on doing what you do and screw the rest of them. Family or not, if they are toxic, let them go.
Great Blog T....I am not a fan of your husband BUT I love you!!! Stay positive....u have the most fans!!! Nothing wrong w being a positive, agressive woman...just ask Mr. Trump!!! U rule :)
Wow, thanks for your blog. I am a big fan of everyone on the show and don't really play favorites, which is why it was hard for me to see/hear everything that happened in the last episode. I couldn't figure out who was wrong and who was right and now see that it is all ONE BIG MISUNDERSTANDING! I think everyone on the show has become very sensitive and is trying to start drama where there really isn't any ... picking apart your cookbook (which is one of the ways you were trying to better your then current situation) was just one way to stir up the drama. Teresa, you are a very strong woman a strong mother - I applaud you for working so hard to get your family out of the dark cloud it had been in. I hope to see you back with your family and friends again, and this all behind all of you!
Hon, saying "you misread what I wrote and I'm sorry if it hurt your feelings" isn't an apology--it's calling someone stupid.
It is painfully obvious that Season 4 is going to be all about bashing Teresa once again. I couldn't even watch the reunion since it was so painfully obvious that Andy was just there to throw you to the lions...His digs at you and your family are the only things that come out of his mouth concerning you. Don't know if I will watch RHONJ this season...I miss the fun and friendship. Can't stand to see how Bravo goes out of its way to show you and your family in a non-flattering light. Good luck and God bless Teresa.
Teresa, dont mind all of the others they really dont have any storylines and they need you to bring the drama so that they can stay on the show.
Love Love Love YOU!!!! Pre Ordering your new book today on amazon:) I am so turned off by the show right now that I don't think I will be dedicated to watch.....but I will follow you on online recaps and your Fabulous website.
Great blog Teresa! I think the Wakiles, Manzos, and Gorgas are fabulous and live amazing lives. I wish their storylines would focus on themselves and the fun things they do, rather than on bringing up more "Teresa bashing"! We are tired of it, as I'm sure you are, too! Let's show more happy times!
Teresa, you have to stop defending yourself. It's a classic girl group situation and right now everyone is channeling their energy on you; especially Jacqueline's 13 page blog. Let it pass. You're doing well. I watch Celebrity Apprentice every week and I love how you survive amongst that crazy bunch. Good things.
Team Teresa all the way! Your blog explained a lot of things. Caroline is a nasty, bitter bully and she should probably get on some hormone therapy to calm her crazy-ass down!
Teresa, I will honestly say that I've never been a huge fan of yours, but I've always admired your strong loyality to your husband. Nobody is perfect...especially your Joe, but you defend and stick by him like a wife should. It's the ole Italian way. The way society is today, they get a divorce like they are breaking up with a high school boyfriend. It's very sad. I realize that there is always two sides to every story, and the show edits a lot of the truth...(It makes for good TV). I hate that you feel like you have to defend yourself from the horrible things your, so called family/friends, are blogging about you. If you want my opinion.....they are doing more damage to themselves than you can ever do. Just sit back and enjoy the craziness while your fan population grows on their behalf. I love watching you on Celebrity apprentice. Good job!!!
Remember....Sticks and stones....
Take care Tree

First of all, in NO way shape or form should you compare yourself to Bethenny. Her witty banter and your selfish intentional digs are not in the same category. You are the Queen of Contradiction and I truly believe that you actually believe what you are saying sometimes. How can you say to Caroline's face about Melissa, "if the shoe fits wear it" but then say in your blog that it wasn't even about her. It is somewhat sad because I was once a fan of yours, but you increasingly make it difficult by thinking that your fans are ignorant. I hope that the Manzos and Kathy both develop cookbooks of their own. I would purchase multiple copies of each just so you would have to stuff your 100% Italian face with some Olive Garden Humble Pie.
much success to you teresa! we as viewers can see by the actions of the other castmates how greed destroys. stay above that. best wishes to you and your family. your clear explanations no longer have us "reading between the lines". thank you for that. the elimination of trash talking the others represents where you are in your life right now and there is no need to destroy the others as they have so desperately tried and failed to do to you. good luck and God Bless!
Teresa, Your cookbooks are THE BEST!!!!! Keep up the GOOD WORK!!! I think Caroline is jealous. Too bad, so sad. As far as Melissa goes, Please, oh please tell her, or actually show her how to clean her toilet. It's DISGUSTING!!!! It showed it on the first episode. EWWWWWW!!!!
teresa, i can't say you are perfect and sometimes you make me cringe but you are a riot to watch! don't let the others bring you down, their jealousy is so transparent.
TERESA, I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU. BELIEVE ME WE SEE THROUGH THE LAURITAS, MANZOS, WAKILES, & GORGAS. I READ THE BOOK AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH WHAT YOU SAID AT ALL. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP HONEY AND ABOVE THE DRAMA. WHEN IT COMES TO THE REUNION SHOW : MAYBE YOU SHOULD PULL A JACQUELINE OR JUST STAY CALM AND IGNORE THEM. DONT GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT : ATTENTION. LOVE YOU !!!!
Well Damn!...when you put it like thaaaat. I have to agree with you Teresa. Which by the way, I try Never to do. (See I was joking--Like ha ha funny) But Seriously, Teresa, I GET it. And by the way, I thought you were Fabulous on Celebrity Apprentice ( a little intimidated--but good none the less) Secondly, do not compare your jokes to Bethenny's ; she's naturally funny, while you're naturally beautiful..just saying. As far as the show (RHONJ) is concerned, I know the season has just begun, and while I have never been your biggest fan, I do however, get the impression that you'll be the target this season. And to that, I say; stay strong, stay grounded, and stay REAL. Keep on keepin on Teresa.
Ta Ta for now! Soncie (#TeamTeresa..after MUCH kicking & screaming---just joking, like you know..funny Ha Ha) sorry Teresa, I just had to go there oooonce more ;--)
so how many times does T say Celebrity Apprentice!!! We get it you were on the show!!! this is a bravo blog not NBC..
I have on some level liked many things about each of the housewives over the last few years. I have read everyone's blog today. Without hesitation I can say Teresa is by far the one I relate to the most and I respect the way she is handling herself. I won't stoop as low as to ridicule the rest of the lot for their behavior but they should all take notes from Teresa on how to handle themselves with class and integrity. You don't have to be perfect you just have to do better when you know better. Can't wait to meet you Teresa at your book signing!
Sounds like you're starting to grow a lot, good for you! Please remember, if all of your fame and fortune went away tomorrow, your family and friends would still be there for you.
I'm glad to hear all of the things you're doing, but I really hope and pray for you and your parents and brother and his family, that things work out. Blood is thicker than water, remember, please?
God Bless you and your family.
PLEASE POST BRAVO:
Tre, your brother only cares about having a plot on the show! That is why they repeated and rehashed everything months later. Without you! There would be no story line for them. Your sister in law is cunning, trying to appear innocent. YOU RE BEING USED!!! Your Giving them bait!!! You can have your own show, I love your IMMEDIATE family dynamic. It is time to let your brother live his own life at arms length! HE KEEPS THROWING YOU UNDER THE BUS! His own sister on national TV... wow, what a winner. I feel for you! LOVE you and GREAT BLOG! God bless.
