Melissa is Over the Rumors
Melissa thinks Penny and her husband should focus on their own lives.
Hi everyone ,
Sorry for not getting my blog to you sooner. I’ve been on a jam packed tour promoting Love Italian Style. It’s such a great feeling to finally have the book out there and I can’t tell you how amazing it has been meeting fans each night at my book signings. I am so grateful that so many of you are taking the time to come out. I love hearing your stories and chatting about the book! You are the reason I wrote this book, and I’m so glad that you love it! There are lots more signings over the next few weeks, and I can’t wait to see you at one of them. Check out my website to see where I’ll be next.
OK onto the episode. UGH! I don’t know about you, but I am so over the he said, she said. It’s getting very old if you ask me. The fact is I came onto the RHONJ scene talking about sprinkle cookies and re-done homes. How we got to gold-digging, stripping, and cheating is beyond me.
For me it’s not so much about the actual rumors, because they are ridiculous and almost laughable. The people that came on the show to spread them when confronted and asked for proof have NONE. The people that shout from the rooftops on Twitter and in blogs, promising to “Bring the Truth” never do! Know this: if you were in my past, you remain in my past for a reason. Contrary to what some may say, I’m not spending my time talking about you, and I honestly wish everyone well. What bothers me is why these rumors are even happening. I don’t get what strangers like Penny and Johnny gain by attacking me. I guess I’ll never understand. What I do know is that the sooner people stop worrying about exposing my “supposed past” and focus on what’s going on in their own lives, the happier they will be.
As I’ve said before, when I decided I was going to let go of the past issues with Teresa, I pretty much knew what I was moving on from, and at this point I don’t really care. I don’t think I’ll ever know exactly how everything came together, but I know in my heart whose hands are dirty. Now onto Orlando at Johnny Wright’s compound. What an incredible place! You could feel the history just walking through the halls. Between the moonmen, People’s Choice Awards, and Grammys I didn’t know which way to look. So many icons got their start there. I was awed, inspired, and understandably overwhelmed.
The vocal coach was such a sweetheart. He had to cram weeks of training into a few hours. The pressure was on to impress him and Johnny. The coach asked me to sing every note on the regular scale and I did it perfectly. When he pushed me to sing as high as I possibly could I cracked and that is what you saw. Never Let Me Go is in a higher octave and pushed me more vocally than any of the other songs I recorded. Johnny knew I could do it and he was right. Sometimes you need people with more experience than you to push and show you how far you can go. Things in life don’t come easy and you have to work for them. I have no problem working hard for the things I want. I actually enjoy the challenge and I appreciate that you get to watch my struggles every step of the way and root me on. It means everything. The music business is probably one of the hardest industries to break into. If I can teach you anything, let it be to never give up.
As you can see, "Never Let Me Go" got played on the radio in Orlando, and I sang at Red, Hot & Boom on July 3rd for 150,000 people. The Jonas Brothers were the headliners. It was an amazing experience. Go to my website to see an exclusive behind the scenes video of that performance. I’m so proud of "Never Let Me Go". It’s got great energy and passion. I hope you love it, too. Thanks again for everyone believing in and supporting me! Johnny Wright, a true mentor, is incredible to work with. I can’t wait to share what we are working on next!
Until next week, follow me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for the latest updates.
