Ohhh boy, welcome back! Filming this season was a wild ride, and I for one can't wait to see what it's going to look like. So much drama, so many poignant moments, so many times when I felt like my heart was so full it might burst ... or was that my head and eyes?
In between seasons, Simon and I wrote a book together, Little Kids, Big City, which comes out April 6th. It’s about the craziness that goes along with raising young children in the city, with the good, the bad and the downright ugly. We go to places few parents do when it comes to speaking frankly (and sometimes sarcastically) about the frustrating but rewarding full time job of being parents.
When you last saw me (filming the Season 2's Reunion Special), I had been recently laid off from Victoria's Secret corporate, and I felt the newly jobless panic that so many of us did. When you lose your job, the fear and anxiety is overwhelming, regardless of your circumstances. I was one of the lucky ones – I received a good severance package and went into business for myself. These days I work with retail clients doing everything from graphics and event planning to merchandising and store fixtures. Right now I am planning the March opening party for Second Time Around’s newest location in Philadelphia, and running the in-store renovation for Willoughby's Camera, which includes new showrooms for Leica and Pentax. After balancing corporate America with home, family and shooting the show, I’m thrilled to be able to set my own hours and work from home often, though my friends will tell you I definitely work longer hours now!
Alex, You are the only housewife with any class and etiquette. You should give the other housewives a lesson!
I have loved how you have handled yourself this season! Can't wait to see what else is in store!
Once again you've shown class, sophistiation, and grace when dealing with this ongoing drama. I'm glad you're not taking sides with anyone, because it's not how you feel about these situations, but how you feel and interact with each person individually. Alot of this sounds like high school. And to think these women lives such busy and successful lives, they still take time out to bash each other over the pettiest of things.
I think Luann needs to take a big girl pill and long nap. Her getting divorce is not the end of the world. And there is life after divorce. Whether if she dislikes what Mario said about her or not, she is not excluded from people having an opinion about her. It's funny how she doesn't have any other royal friends to hang out with. Hmmm.....interesting, huh? It goes to show you that she doesn't have any friends, because she's unbearable. I think before long she and Jill will hit a bump in the road and she'll be confronting Jill about comments she's made about her. It'll be interesting to see how all this plays out. One thing for sure is, you and Simon will be the voice of reason and will keep an open mind when dealing with these group of women. Sometimes drama is to much and a big turn off. I do like to see how you live and intereact with each other, but the drama reminds me a lot of high school and I left that place over 20 years ago. Alexis, have fun and enjoy the ride.
Alex, I just want to tell you that you are now my favorite Housewife!!! You are very intelligent & kind! After the 1st. season, I did not like you & Simon, because I thought that you were both pretentious snobs!!! But, you have showed a lot of class!!! I can't beleive how childish Luann & Jill are!! Luann considers herself an expert on manners & class, but, she does not know the meaning of class!!! They behave like they are in High School!! I admire you for putting yourself in social situations with them & remaining classy!! You go girl!! Team Alex all the way!!!!
Alex, it's true. You have the most class and I've liked you and Simon from the beginning. You show more class and taste than any of the other housewives.
Alex, you are very true to others as well as yourself.I love that you are not snarky with everybody. You showed grace with the logo deal. Hats off to you and maybe some of the others at times could take a visual and audio messages from Your clear actions. Good luck to you and your family.
Alex is the classiest one! She is so above all the rest! I love that she doesn't try to fit into the little world of "me" and "only me". Ha, ha. She has a life. And a wonderful husband. So, her kids run around. Mine did too, and they are great! The others are so damn stuffy. I love you Alex. My daughter watches you and you are a role model.
Alex, You and Simon should hold a seminar on class and etiquette and reserve front seats for the other housewives; then you should write a book about it. I admire the way you guys keep things classy even when pushed over the edge. You are a Countess in your own right and Simon the Count. I love watching you and hope to see more of you around.
Alex, Thank you for being the only housewife who hasn't become a disappointment to me.Everyone else has gotten so full of themselves, and you have stayed true to yourself and your marriage, even during all the catfights and petty arguments. I think the other ladies are in for a rude awakening when they look up one day to find out that they are not "all that" and that people are tired of all the drama. Taking frequent offense to other people's actions and comments means you place yourself before anyone else, that you are more important and deserve to be treated better than you treat others. So glad you are not like that! You are like the beautiful country of Switzerland...NEUTRAL!
Dear Alex.....I just love you and Simon! Even though,I know they really gave you all a hard time the first season, I even liked you both then. Mainly, I could identify with the closeness, respect and love you show to each other. My husband and I are much the same way. We don't have to do everything together, socially. We just enjoy each other's company and enjoy sharing the same experiences together. We are a bit older then you all. Our children are grown now. The youngest is 20 and still attending college. But, I still plan to buy your book, read it and save it for my children. I am hoping one of them will eventually make me a grandmother..LOL! Glad to hear about your new career achievements. Looking foreward to watching you all through the new season. There is nothing better then Simon's wit and your straight forewardness. Though knowing the rest of the NYC Housewives, I am sure it will be a fun, yet "Bumpy Ride"....Cheers
Alex, When I first watched this show the first season I thought you and Simon were so odd, and then the second season came and went and I thought..hmmm, they are perfect for each other and add alittle 'sparkle' to the show...I LOVE how you are direct with the others and you are not hateful..why do those 'housewives' want to hurt eeach other is beyond me! I believe you are the one with the most class and the others should watch and learn! Can't wait to see more.....
There was absolutely the most positive, loving and wonderful energy exuding from your face as you first greeted Ramona when you stepped on board the yacht. Bravo!
Alex, You have a terrific relationship with your husband and you have beautiful children. You and Simon have been a class act. It made me cringe the way Ramona treated Simon, talk about rude. I think you and Simon handled it well. Much luck on your new business venture and book, I hope this isn't your last season!
Hi Alex, so glad you're back.I got to like you and Simon.I'm still not a fan of some of his wardrobe but if you and he like it that's what matters. Two many wives this season. What's going on?I'm sure Bethenny will be leaving, but I hope no one else. But even if she leaves that's still 7.Don't you and Simon ever leave. You two bring a little something extra to this group..
Hi Alex. I just sent some comments to some of the other housewives and just wanted to let you know that yours is a nice one. I like how poised you are and not in a fake way like some of the others on the show. Keep doing that !
Simex, I want to see more of you two. I find you two to be the most fun and entertaining. I will buy your book just cause I like you guys.
Alex is the only one of ANY of the Housewives who answers her fans. These other broads could learn a lesson. You hit a fan back and they love you forever. Smart girl, that Alex!
I love you on this show, I mujst say Bethany and Ramona are also my favs.. You guys keep me interested and tuned in..
you are my favorite and hopefully this is not your last season as rumored. you bring something to the table that the others don't. i loved your renovations, i totally "got" it.
Hi Alex....love the first episode! Looks like this season will be a good one! Do you have any plans to open a STA in NJ???
Alex, You are the best. You should have written the book about class. I watched the past couple of seasons over, and the reunion shows. All I have to say is WOW. You are intelligent, classy, and well spoken. I think all of the ladies need to take a lesson from you, including Luann.
Your easy-going attitude is lovely. From what I saw in the first episode, you were the only character who did not make me cringe.
There is an old saying: "class will tell, s..t will smell". The other ladies may have more money but you have the class, my lady.
Alex, you and Simon are the best. Good for you being in business for yourself! No doubt that you will be very successful. You are the most diplomatic and reasonable of them all and should feel proud of that. Wishing you and your wonderfully eccentric family well, huge fan.
Alex, you are the only normal woman on the show. You are the only housewife that presents a positive image. The other women are an embarrassment. They are mean- spirited, petty and definitely ugly on the inside.
Keep on being yourself!
I love your cloths and the dress you wore on the boat was FABULOUS!! Can you tell me the name of the designer!!!!
You have always been the one with the class! I love the relationship you and Simon has. Hope to see more of the two of you this season.
Thank you Alex for being on the show! Sometimes the other women are entertaining, but most of the time they are just embarrasing with their petty arguments and their need to shout over each other. You are a great example of someone balancing marriage, career and motherhood as well as just living a great life in NYC. Looking forward to seeing you and Simon and the family this season. I used to be a fan of Bethenny, but she disgusts me now. She is so fake and I for one prefer a real margarita with 100% agave tequila, not some pre-mixed substitute.
I think you are the only sane and genuine person on that show! I think Simon is fabulous too. Thanks for being 'you'. :)
Alex, now you are truly MY favorite. You have a seriously good head on your shoulders and I think your husband is one in a million. He's a real hoot! Love you guys and God bless.
You are my favorite. I think your relationship with Simon is what we all truly want for ourselves in our own way. Keep being true to yourself, you are a classy intelligent role model for all of us. Brava!!
im so glad you are back,,love your point of view and your down to earth and elegant top class attitude. , have a great season.
Last season I felt you were low key and only were involved in things that directly affected you and Simon which is a good idea but didn't get the real picture of you. I think that you were wise to stay out of the fray on the boat because again it didn't directly affect you. I think some of the housewives like to be too involved with what everyone else is doing. Glad your career is going well and looking forward to this season.
I am so happy you are a part of this show. As it's been mentioned before, you are the most real and honest and nonjudgemental housewife on the show. You are who you are and it's all on the table...no BS...no grandstanding...no mind games. Keep on keeping on!
Hey Alex! I just wanted to let you know that I have been an Alex fan since the first season. You are soo cool and calm all the time, and where the other girls are clouded and dramatic (Kelly and Ramona mostly), you maintain a mature and intelligent outlook on things. Gotta love you and Simon for keeping it real!
I am giving up watching because I don't see what any of this has to do with being a house wife. I doubt any of you have ever washed a dish or made a bed. That said I really like Alex she seems to be the most sincere in the bunch. She is not catty and mean like the other women are. There is not a true friend among them. They say things behind the back and when confronted make some excuse why they said it or deny it. Too bad none of them know what life is really about.Wake up ladies people are starving out there, hurting and dying there is more to life than how you look or how much money you have. I would not want any of you for a friend except maybe Alex. She is a lady.
I just love your attitude! You and Simon are great! Please keep close to Jill and LuAnn...I think they may need you.
I am soo glad you and Bethenny seem like you are in a good place with each other this season. I like you both and have been uncomfortable in the past when she has said disparaging things about you. Good thing is, you never took the low road and were very cool about it all. Best wishes to you and your family from Colorado! :)
You look even more amzing this season! Glad everything is falling into place with you; you seem much more confident and in your own zone this season!
For the first time you showed restraint and proper etiquette when dealing with the drama going on around you, so kudos for that. I do think you should focus more on your children and their erratic behavior from last season. Not sure what your new book is about, but I can probably guess it is not child rearing techniques due to the manners of both your children. Glad to see you without Simon attached to your hip...hopefully that will continue throughout the season.
When I seen you ladies were doing a video on "Which housewife would you want to be on a stranded Island with"? My fist thought was you and Bethanny because you two would figure how to get off. Then when you said the exact same thing I almost died. Alex, I have ALWAYS liked you and Simon, even when it wasn't popular to like you two. I married my husband because I wanted to spend time with him. We also have two small children. We are just like you two. Good luck to you both.
I am thrilled to hear your business is going well. Good for you. You, Bethenny and Ramona are the ones who truly make their own money and who truly stand on your own feet. I thought you showed a great deal of class by staying out of the Jill and LouAnn drama. All I could think of is how Jill was so upset with Ramona when she attacked Simon at her dinner party, yet she and LouAnn came to Ramona's party and attacked the host. Maybe there is a difference when you just attack a host versus a guest. :-). I don't know what you mean by wait and watch in regards to Jill and Bethenny. But I am 110% on Bethenny's side, if there are sides. I think deep down Jill is very jealous of Bethenny, and may be of you as well. I think her demands that everyone "be honest" is hypocritical, as she is far from truly honest about herself. She is one of those friends that sucks the energy out of you. She may mean well, but I like her less and less. I think deep down she is insecure and stirs up trouble. But I guess I will have to wait and watch. I am glad you are back, and good luck with you book. You and Bethenny are the stars of the show, and I think you are both truly role models for young women. I love it when you blow you stack and it looks as though you do with someone, so I am looking forward to that episode. Way to go Alex!! :-)
Alex & Simon,
I was very impressed with both of you on the first episode! I have to say, Alex, you are the most composed and even more "countess-like" than Luann. Congrats on the book and way to go on making it work through being laid-off. It is really nice to see people like you thriving and pushing through the tough times.
