Hey Bravo fans – I’m so sorry I’m nearly a week late (don’t even ask about my NJ blogs but I promise they are coming soon!) Wow, can you believe the finale is here? At times it seemed it would go on until Christmas; other times it seemed like we just watched the premiere! In that time Simon and I have released a book and I’m blogging on the run in between book signings. We’ll be in Philly, DC, Baltimore and McLean, VA from the 11-13th; to see where we are headed go to our family website where you can also order the book online or download on Kindle! It’s a great father’s day gift as it’s half written from the dad’s perspective (and if you get it for him it’s a gift for you too – hahahahah!)
I decided not to attend LuAnn’s single release as we were previously double booked at an event thrown by a friend of ours off camera. While we have some great friendships with cast member that are very real, we also are not going to blow off a behind-the-scenes friend just for extra airtime. Watching the party I’m glad we didn’t go; as usual others took the opportunity to make it all about themselves, which I feel took away from LuAnn’s performance.
Ramona and Mario were two absolutely gorgeous and in love peas-in-a-pod the night of their vow renewal; beautiful vows and I cracked up watching the doggie drama. If Simon and I decide to renew our vows one of these days, our two cats will not be invited! The Pierre is such a beautiful place and so romantic – if you don’t live in New York be sure to go and have a drink there when you visit. It’s right across the street from where Maxim’s used to be – sadly they’ve now closed in NYC but the original Paris restaurant looks identical to the Madison Avenue one where Simon and I were married 10 years ago.
I have liked Alex from the the very first episode and like her even MORE after this season. Obviously we don't see very much of their *real* lives on TV but I enjoy how honest both she and Simon seem to be. Kudos to her and looking forward to next season!
Weird. I did not like you, Alex, at all last year, but this year you are one of my favorites. You are probably the most sincere girl of the bunch.
I agree! Sometimes people take your silence as being passive. I'm not much for conflict and confrontation but sometimes it's necessary to deal w/the issue. Last season Jill was one of my favorites but she's more obsessed w/public opinion than real relationships. She was so cold to Betthany and disrespectful to you. However, soon as she realized Betthany was having a baby and getting married she wanted to be a part of it all to CONTROL it. That is NOT real friendship. I'm happy for you and your husband's success. Looking forward to tomorrow now...WHOA...LOL
You have taken three seasons to grow on me and finally I really like who you are. You are fresh and real - what an oxymoron in a reality show. Good luck to you and your family in all of your endeavors.
I applaud your patience that you've had towards Jill and LuAnn. They have been making snide remarks about you all season this year, and it was getting a little exhausting and annoying to hear them talk. I don't think many people would have that kind of patience with them.
Jill is absolutely a spin doctor. Agreed. She says one thing when the episodes were being taped, and then when the talking head appears, she says something totally different (i.e. opposite of the truth of her actions). Her fake crying and self-centeredness is too much to take - even as a viewer.
LuAnn, is a trouble maker, who speaks from both sides of her mouth. The fact that you, Bethenny and Ramona are the bear the brunt of these 2 lying women, makes me empathize with you even more.
As for Kelly - she obviously needs help, and whether she is lying, or just unaware of reality.... one has to give her the benefit of doubt that perhaps there is a screw or two loose rolling around in there.
Keep up the good work.... we admire you behavior on the show.
Alex -- I can't wait for the reunion, especially after seeing the clip of you standing up to Jill. My sister and I plan to be on the phone between Texas and N. Hampshire as we watch the final smackdown! Go Team Alex!!!
Thank God someone uses some sense: Alex, Bethany, Sonja, and Ramona are all my favorites. It's nice to see real friendship as it should be!
You were awesome this season and thanks for putting Jill in her place, many of us wanted to say the same thing to her.. Jill is foolish and blind as to what class is...
well anyway... love ya! M
Alex you are all class. I wasn't sure what to make of you and Simon in the beginning, but now I absolutely adore you. You are a real person and a good friend to Ramona and Bethany. Definitely will be watching next season.
I hope one of my comments actually gets posted. Seems like certain comments are not allowed. *grin*
Alex, I'm glad you started to speak out. Although you break out in hives, I'm sure you feel better after getting it out, and that is the main thing.
Sometimes a good, hit in the head with a verbal 2x4 is what some *ahem* people need. Even if it falls on deaf ears....I think in their subconscious, it remains. Hopefully *certain* castmates will look deep within themselves.
I think most viewers agree, B and J are not going to be friends again. So be it. B has a new show coming out and I really do hope to see you and Alex on it :) Does Bravo allow "cross - pollination" between 2 shows?
You and Simon always are so poised, real, and seemingly approachable. Thank you for writing your blog, even if it's late, you took the time to write it, unlike one castmate..who decided she's above blogging, and another one who writes 3 sentences the last few weeks.
:) Looking forward to your book. It's on my list.
Thank you for always taking the high road this season. You are a class act. You appear to be a very loyal and great friend to have.
I have to say in earlier seasons I have always been on your team, but this time around I felt like you were being an instigator on purpose. I had heard rumors that you were not going to be on the show anymore due to having money problems and just not having a large following of fans. I think what I saw this season was a woman trying to make some drama so she wouldn't lose her job. It was so blatantly obvious to me that I don't know how anyone else could have missed it. It was a real disappointment to see YOU get in there and play with the mean girls just to be part of the group. I can say this going forward...I am no longer on team Alex. Dj in California
Bravo, please, please bring Alex and Simon back next year. I can think of two other cast members who I wish would go away. Really like Alex, Ramona, Sonja and of course Bethanney.
I enjoy your blogs. No back handed comments just the fun loving girl we have all grown to love. I did visit your family website...I just had to hear about the chums!!!!!
I'm very impressed with how you decided to stand up to Jill this season. Dealing with someone like Jill can be exhausting if you don't speak up and put her in her place. Most likely she still won't listen, but at least everyone else can see you are no longer a pushover. I agree the comments she was making about your children and your husband were UNACCEPTABLE!! I'm surprised you put up with it as long as you did. I watch your show every week with my mom and my daughter and we all think you are such a nice person, a good friend and mother and you have a lovely family. You and Simon seem to be the only ones on the show that really see things for what they are. I love Ramona and Bethenny as well, but sometimes it seems you and Simon are the only ones on planet Earth! We can't wait to see the reunion show tomorrow night! And we'll be waiting to see you again next season. And again, Bravo on telling Jill exactly what you thought of her!!!
I used to SO DISLIKE you and Simon season 1, but you have become 2 of my favorites! You may be excentric, but you are both kind and giving people. Some people on this show are so whiny and needy, it's all about them, but you and Simon go with the flow, smiling all the way!
Can't wait to see what the next season brings, but happy that you will be on Bethenny's new show! It looks like it will be a breath of fresh air. This season was not only draining on the castmembers, but the viewers too.
I hope Jill is still on the show even though her need for it all about "her" took over this season. Kelly on the other hand is just not in the same reality as anyone who could be medically declared sane.
I am so coming to see you guys in Philly on Friday. I'll buy the book for my sister, she loves you and Bethenny. Do you guys take pictures with phones because I adore you & would be honored to have a picture with you. =]
PS. As a gay man, I NEVER Thought Simon was gay. A lot of people get confused between Europeans and homosexuals because we're snappy dressers. Haha. XOXO.
Alex, please give us a break and get back to living your life. I think that you, Ramona and Bethany have succeded in having Jill reduced to a level of fan bitterness assuring her continued misery, which I might add, is in some ways deserved, but enough is enough.... as you say in the opening, "status is everything". Please go back to your pursuit of status..... you and Simon deserve the payback of the Karma circle that will come back around... Jill's had her day, yours is coming..... I just hope BRAVO keeps you around long enough allow all of us to see it....
You're an inspiration this season, you've won me over.
Let those claws come out full throttle!!!
Alex - It did take a little time to get to know you from the first show but you have definitely turned out to be my most favorite housewife of all the shows. I have enjoyed watching your personal growth and look forward to more. Way to let that mean girl Jill have it!!!!
Well kudos to you Alex for speaking you mind. Sometimes it is necessary to fly above the drama and sometimes you do have to let people know how you feel. Do not become overly sensititve and whiny next season, addressing every little hurt, its not worth it and it causes more drama and you look like a drama queen like some of your castmates, but I think you know when to say when and when to call it quits. You are pretty self-aware, gotta give you that!! Well i was about to type until, next season, but wait we're not done with you guys, so I will be reading/hearing from you post reunion. Take Care and continue to love your fam!!
Alex, I too had a hard time sawllowing you at first but I have grown to really like you. I believe you are more mature than half of the women on this show. I think that you handled Jill the only way you can and that is to let her know you were not going to stand for her behavior. The fact that she called you "toxic" to Bethenny and that she walked away from you when you tried to speak to her, speaks volumes about her. She has not learned a thing from her experiences this past year. She called Bethenny "toxic" as well. She should really stop and think about what she is doing before she acts so quickly. To fellow blogger "John Delia" hello? Were you watching the same show as us? Karma is coming around and it's biting Jill right in the ass where it should! Good luck Alex with your beautiful family.
I think some commments, such as the one from John D., have NOTHING to back them up. You and Simon have only grown more real over the past few seasons! Yes, let's hope that Karma will circle back around to you, good person...because who ever said Karma has to be negative? :)
I have enjoyed you so much more this season since you have started standing up for yourself! Jill got exactly what she deserved, and I was a huge fan of hers up until this season. I watched from the perspective of someone who really liked her and she blew it big!!!! I wouldn't have guessed she could be so mean and not just to Bethenny, but to you as well. Looking forward to your next season!
Alex I have adored you since day one! you are the most honest of the bunch and have never tried to be anything other than what you are. I am so glad everyone is finally starting to see what I saw all along; you are a wonderful person and Jill is a snake!
I for one just love you!!! I have small kids too and the claws would come out once I too had enough of the sarcasm. I don't blaim you one bit. The difference between Jill and Ramona/Bethany is that R and B actually said their peace genuinely. You know in your heart when someone means it or just spewing things in the air to make themselves feel better or look better to others. Good luck and hope you and your family success at every turn.
Hello Alex, I think you have been a delight this season. Ok, you may have had a moment of weakness, when you went off on Jill (although someone needed to!), you grace and style reflected your kind heart and your self confidence. You dont need to cause fights and drama to make yourself feel better than anyone else. You know who you are and have accepted yourself and have a loving family to top it off. Congrats and stay true to your heart!
Glad you are now standing up for yourself! Be careful those ladies are fickle where one minute you may think you and so so are great friends and you find out later that it was not so....
Alex! You're awesome, girl! So proud of you this season. You're a lot like me and I'm glad I got to see you stand your ground with Jill. I'm so glad you, Bethenny and Ramona are friends. You all are my favs. Hope to see you back next season to kick some mean girl butts!
Alex, i'm glad to see you are still blogging i don't know why bethenny gave up but it saddens all of us. we missed Simon alot this season too.blogs keep us coming back for more, maybe you could pass this along, thank you again.
Alex, you are a great person. I'm glad you finally gave it to Jill. Jill is so nasty and always seems to get off on putting others down. You, Bethany and Ramona have showed alot of class this season and Sonya seems like a very nice person. It's so funny that Jill has hardly blog this season. She is always hiding behind Bobby. Maybe Bobby will wake up as to who she really is someday. She is not a nice person. Keep doing what your doing and I can't wait to see the reunion.
Alex, I thought Jill brushing you off at the wedding was hrsh, but after thinking about it, maybe she just had nothing to say about her previous behavior. I am not really sure how much time lapsed between the trip and the vow renewal, things may have been a bit raw. I do think you did the right thing by trying to speak to her but maybe it was just not the time or place, her talk with Ramona before the ceremony might have been on her mind. I do enjoy seeing you and Simon along with your boys, what a fabulous family. Enjoy your summer, I can't wait for the reunion show. You are a wonderful friend, and very generous to forgive Bethenny and Ramona, sometimes all it takes is an open heart.
John, you obviously didn't watch the same show the rest of us did but then it is your opinion. Alex, you have come full circle and I truly believe you learned a lot from watching this show. You yourself have had some set back but you rose to the occasion. The fact that you, Ramona and Bethanny found a new found respect and friendship was just a joy to watch. NO DRAMA came from that. I'm glad Jill finally saw the errors in her ways and tried to back paddle it was just too little too late in the show. Stay real and best wishes in all your ventures.
Alex, it looks and sounds as if you want to be friends with Bethenney and Ramona to climb the social ladder, they said terrible things about you last season, now that you are all ganging up on Jill you are friends? It looks like you are doing what you can to keep Jill and Bethenney from being friends again. High school stuff.
Atta girl Alex!
I totally agree & approve of your new outlook. I mean you can only turn your cheek so many times before the bone structure is permanently destroyed.
I like how you've been able to give it back in spades to those who deserve it. Especially after the mean spirited comments Jill & LuAnn made in regards to your son this season. Come on, to laugh & joke all the while belittling your little boy's rumble tumble antics is nauseating to say the least. In my opinion, critisisms of the casts children s/b 100% off limits to the adults to use in bating each other. One thing I have come to realize watching this season LuAnn & Jill are obviously from class-less backgrounds.
Alex - I wish you would go back to being the kinder you. You don't have to like Jill but attacking her is not good either ... you and your husband became famous by being excentric and unique in your approach - now you are just like the others by always being angry and trying to root out anything you don't agree with ...Peace out!
Alex, perhaps when everyone is talking at the same time, a police whistle, while inelegant, might be extremely effective!
New Jersey, I can only hope Danielles daughter has a good attorney to protect her interests. She could wind up like those sad child stars of the 30's and 40's working so hard and nothing to show for it.
Wow, you were great this season. It is nice to see you stand up to Jill who is such a bully. You have tried numerous times to tell Jill about comments she had made about you and your family and she still continues to ask you what she has doneor said. Does she understand english????? I don't care what anyone says, YOU ARE AWESOME!!!! Continue to stand up for yourself and your family!!
Alex, I just don't get you- 3 seasons and I still don't get you. You're a different person because Bethenny and Ramona- nothing wrong wuth B and Ramona but you need to be yourself. Also, you enjoy that Jill is in the negative light- admit it. Remember you were once the "hated" one too.
I've been a loyal viewer since the first season and you and Simon have really won me over. This season you really do seem the most level-headed out of all the ladies and your loving relationship with Simon is really nice to watch. What you said to Jill was long overdue and you are right on with your opinion of her...I think she does miss Bethenny's friendship but primarily, she's doing major damage control now. But you told it like it is....Bravo (no pun intended)!!!
Alex,I just read your book and it was great! It came up as a recommended book on my kindle and since I am a fan of the show and a NYC mom, I figured "why not?" You and Simon come across as down to earth away from all of the show ediitng. Every parent should read it, and all "Housewife" fans should check it out to get to know you better. Just keep doing what you are doing!
Love you Alex. I am glad you found your voice. Jill deserves every drop of what she gets. Best wishes to you and your family.
