Channeling the Devil?

Alex talks Fashion Week(end), new Housewife Sonja, Simon's shopping spree, and Ramona's runway walk!

Apr 15, 2010

Wow, I’m writing this blog from sunny Los Angeles where we are about to hit the South Coast Plaza Borders to do a signing of Little Kids, Big City – we are loving the great comments from our readers on Facebook and our website!

Welcome to Sonja Morgan! (It’s about bloody time…) She is fab – with the intelligence of someone who doesn’t depend on others for success in this world, regardless of whom she married. We became fast friends and I’m only sorry I didn’t meet her ten years ago! My favorite thing about Sonja is that anytime I invite her to a party she always brings a bevy of cute guys.

Brooklyn Fashion Week{end} was a great success, despite comments from the front row. We raised money for the Brooklyn Style Foundation to mentor young and low-income designers, and I was thrilled that Loris Diran helped the cause by showing his beautiful collection (which you can get either at his boutique or Bergdorfs.) Derek was a star, ditto Alegra, Joe, Jeremey, Eddie and several of the ladies came out in support.

I had organized hair, makeup and a dress from Loris for Jill, and she was nothing but complimentary to me backstage so I was a bit surprised to see the footage and discover that she was so cranky at the show. Jill didn’t seem to expect that she would see edgy young designers at the show; I really don’t know what she thought she was attending. Maybe she missed the other fabulous dresses because was looking at the floor or maybe she was mesmerized by Ramona’s walk. Something really did click into place though – when I walked she said I was channeling the devil. I’m going to ask you to remember that phrase, as you might hear it again from someone else. Things that make you go hmmmm. I was so happy that Ramona and Kelly walked in the show, and even though Ramona got nervous, she put her heart and soul into Brooklyn Fashion Week{end} for that evening and I appreciated that.

Surprising she has turned out to be the nicest person level headed on this show

Alex, you really seem like the token "nicewife" this season. Maybe Bravo should introduce "The Real Housewives of Brooklyn". I mean if they'll do Atlanta anything is possible!

Alex, I love you! You and Simon are a great couple and I love your sons; they are adorable little boys. It is obvious that you are a good person and I just wish you many happy things!

Alex, you looked lovely, you carried yourself well and Jill was just being petty and mean-spirited to make such catty comments. The viewers know who has class and who doesn't. Keep your head high and know you're the diamond in that box of rocks. ;)

Alex is the best housewife on the NY show, she is the realest one and she the only one that is NOT catty and she never stir up trouble, she doesn't talk bad about any of the other ladies behind their backs and most of all she true to herself and never choose sides she is a true friend and the other girls are lucky to have her as a friend

You are seriously a God-send on this show. I appreciate your easy going nature and how sensible you are. You call it like it is and you don't get involved in unnecessary drama. You also looked FAB in the runway show. I think you should be very proud of the life you lead. God bless You, Simon, and the boys!

Alex, you did a great job with Brooklyn Fashion Week. You rocked the runway as did Ramona and Kelly! You should all be proud of yourselves! You are a goog person and continue to inspire us all!

Wouldn't have missed it for the world! Anything to support you and Simon!

Alex it is so nice to see you more open this season! I also love that you are keeping your hair done up nicely, as it used to be a bit of a mess the first season. You and Simon have a nice family. Your boys are so cute, esp. the youngest- he does not appear as busy as Francois. You did a great job with the Fashion Show. I love BK. I thought it was nice for Jill to support the event and she should not have felt badly about being over-dressed. They do tend to be more laid back and not as dressed up in BK. I wish you continued success.

I must admit that I am totally a Alex and Bethanny fan; with that said, where is the Jill Blog? Why is she so absent in this process? I really do not understand why anyone would be so mean and unforgiving? Friends are friends, for better or worse. jill has changed so much and the fact that she wanted to take control of The Millionaire Match Maker emails this evening, only confirms that Jill has to do everything and I would never ask any of them for advice. Jill is a fake.I am surprized but Jill is a total and complete fake; Luanne, Countess Luanne, you are no better.

Alex you rock this season! I love you and Simon. Your kids are beautiful.

Good for you Alex! Jill was horrible the entire evening. You did a good job.

Alex, you and your husband are so down to earth...I love it! It seems you have a wonderful bond with him. I also think you guys are by far the most normal out of everyone else. You looked wonderful in the runway. Jill seem to be very jealous that the spot light wasn’t on her! She seem very cranky and annoyed. She could have been more supportive. On another note I agree in the way you handle Jill when she spoke about your children, that was completely inappropriate. Some say Romana needs to edit her self but Jill needs to do the same as well.

Alex you are my favorite housewife on NYC!! You seem to be a real person with real emotions and comments. You care about others and are willing to be a real friend. I love to watch you and Simon because it is very obvious you love each other and your cute boys. Best to you.

Alex, You have been the one housewife this season who has demonstrated grace and class. I love the tenderness that you have been showing Bethenny and I appreciate how honest you are with her without being mean spirited. She needs to be held accountable when she is "snarky", but your gentle spirit has really helped her.

I love the tenderness that you have been showing Bethenny and I appreciate how honest you are with her without being mean spirited. She needs to be held accountable when she is "snarky", but your gentle spirit has really helped her. Maybe you should start to work with Jill next. She really seems to have lost her way.

Kudos to you for attempting a fashion show? You did a nice job! You and Bethenny are the only housewife's of New York that make any sence this season. Watch your back with Jill and Lou Lou their evil this season. Best of Luck!

Alex, I have to admit, I was not a huge fan of you and Simon in the first season, but now I am. You both have showed what nice, mature, great hearted people you are. I think you two were great to watch this season and I wish you ALL THE BEST FOR YOUR FAMILY! I will be buying your book to support you two, and your truly kind spirit!

Alex, I hope you took Jill's mean-spirited comments with a grain of salt. I don't get the "channeling the Devil" stuff at all - you looked great! Congratulations on the fashion show!

Ramona is the most rude, insensitive, arrogant human being I have ever seen anywhere. I don't see what she adds to this show - she is nobody's idea of a friend! I hope they do the show next year without her.

I think that Jill was very snobby and gross. I think she has seriously let fame go straight to her head. She is just awful this season. You are wonderful to support new and edgy designers. Everyone has to start somewhere. In Jill's case it is obviously much easier to marry a rich man instead of having to actually work to achieve something. She is just awful. You looked beautiful too!

Hey Alex! The fashion show was a hit and you looked great! I think the biggest EYE OPENER of the whole thing wasn't Ramona - it was what a snooty, over opinionated, jealous, snide, nasty, FAKE person JILL ZARIN turned out to be! Wow. Could she have been any more ignorant - out loud? And w/Simon sitting there too. She said an alien took over Ramonas body, but I think an alien took over Jills personality. She insulted you, the designers, her supposed friends, and everyone there with her comments. Anyway - good job!(listen to me being over opinionated about her!!! hehe)

Alex, you have more "class" in your little pinkie than i have seen in any of those people who think they are better than "low rent" people. it is shocking that they claim to be on the "cutting edge" and yet, they don't even respect or know where the "cutting edge" comes from, pathetic. it's good good to know you are helping to expose young talent... thank you.

Are you still angry at Jill about her comments about your children? You've seemed to definately jumped on the RUN JILL OUT OF TOWN band wagon! Why so much compassion for others and not her?

How do you manage to hold your own with this nasty group while still maintaining your sense of sophistication? Go Alex!

Alex you are fast becoming one of my favorite housewives and you looked GREAT coming down the runway!

Gracious as always! Alex, your serene energy is such a welcome relief after all the drama, pretentiousness and sometimes hatefulness displayed by some of the other ladies.

Congrats on the show. You looked lovely.

Alex,

I have always rooted for you and Simon every season, because I feel that you two are relatable and have a wonderful marriage. I think this season it is nice to see that you both are not being ostracized.....but I do not think that gives you the green light to have a dog in the fight with Jill and Bethenney's situation. Although I see you trying to help in some instances, I also see you stirring the pot in others. I think as a friend you can encourage your friends to talk, but you truly do not know all of the conversations, interactions, and feelings that existed between these two parties prior to you befriending Bethenney. She said horrible, and in my opinion irreparable things about you and Simon in seasons past, and you seem to have forgiven her. I think that every season has its villain, and Jill is definitely it this time. But I have seen blogs where she has defended you and Simon, and I did not see her attack your family to the levels that Ramona and Bethenney did before. The underpinning of meanness and pot-stirring this season makes this show less fun to watch. I love watching the Alex and Simon that have great family time and energy with friends. Not the ones who take sides with people when the cameras are on, despite the ill-will, judgment, and horrible commentary that ensued against you last season.

Maybe you can convey to Bravo how much the core concept of the show has been derailed?

ALTHOUGH NOTHING BUT NASTY...JEALOUS...AND HATEFUL REMARKS FROM JILL, THE SHOW WAS NICE ALEX. GOOD JOB. YOU COULD TELL SHE WAS JUST JEALOUS, THAT SHE WAS'NT INVOLVED! OH, AND OVER DRESSED..TRY HORRIBLY DRESSED, SHE SHOULD HAVE LEFT THAT OUTFIT WHERE SHE GOT IT!! I'M REALLY NOT LIKING HER THIS SEASON!!!

Alex, you looked beautiful at the fashion show, and did a wonderful job. I thought that Ramona, looked great also. I was not surprised when Jill started in on Ramona the minute that she saw her. Jill is so criticle about everyone and everything. I thought she was so nasty with her comments at the fashion show. She is just not a very nice person this season and then when she is interviewed she makes all kinds of excuses. Again I want you to know how very lovely you looked.

Hi Alex, Oh God, I really need to get a life but I love the show and you and Simon and Ramona. I really feel hurt for you to have to watch Jill redicule and degrade all your effort and dedication to the fashion show. Jill clearly fails to understand what that fashion show was for. Not only did Jill degrade your work, but she than proceeded to make a mockery of Ramona by laughing at her as she walked nervously down the runway. What A Friend Jill Is Turning Out To Be. JIll doesn't report to the Bravo blog so I guess somewhere down inside herself, she clearly can't face who she really is and avoids the truth by seeking out people who only tell her what a good beautiful person she is. It's what I call, "The Spoiled Brat Attitude," tell me what I want to hear that is not the truth. Sweet little lies. Oh well, Alex, you're heart is in the right place and you did a FABULOUS, FABULOUS JOB! So Did Ramona. Ramona is a good friend and it is beginning to show. Good Luck And Stay The Way You Are, You're Fabulous!

Good job Aex with the fashion show!

I am really tired of Jill. Did anyone hear the comment towards Alex " she has the body of a model but not the face of one". Ummmmm excuse me but who are you to judge...oh wait it's Jill...that's all she has done this season.

Alex you are a class act, much classier than Jill and Count-less. Its nice to see you, Ramona and Betheny developing a genuine friendship. Good luck on your book release.

You are the absolute Best-est ! I actually have to put the TV on mute every time LuAnne or Jill talk - they are toxic people, yuck. Anyway - I also think you are having a little girl - cannot wait to see how beautiful she is. I'm happy to see you realize what are the important facts of life, Jason and baby. Look forward to seeing your show - undoubtedly it will be fabulous !

Alex, thank you for being such an objective and wise participant in the show. I also love the relationship you seem to have with your husband and children.

As a viewer, I feel you and Bethenny have similarities but she seems to verbalize the things that many of your subtle facial expressions seem to suggest. You two add your own flavor of integrity while the others (excluding LuAnn) often make the show a sad and nauseating circus. Speaking of the big tent, Ramona should stick to her Tru Renewal promotions. By the way, your walk was absolutely spot on!

I thought Alex had the best walk. Surprisingly, Kelly's looked amauterish and too swingy. Ramona was in a class by herself! Could she have been serious with that sashaying walk and bulging eyeballs? She actually scared my daughter!

I love that you are working with Second Time Around (yes, I am a fan of theirs) and contributing to those who otherwise would not have opportunities. Over the past two seasons, you and Simon have been portrayed as overly snobbish. I love that you two are finally being represented as the people you are. You are the one housewife who really seems to WORK for charity - not just tangentially (by writing a check, etc.), but truly in the most literal sense. Your advice to Bethenny was also incredibly helpful and truly came from a place of caring. I hope we see more of your interaction with her, as I truly think that YOU are her 'Jewish Mother' :-).

Alex and Simon ! You guys are the best ! out of all the cast you guys are so real.Have a great time in Cali. !

Thought the show was great. I do not know who Jill was looking at. I thought you looked peaceful and serene - which was great because the show was probably controlled chaos. Great job!!

You looked fabulous at the show and had the best walk out of the three!!! Jill and Luann are making me sick,,, I don't understand why they act like they are to good to go to Brooklyn. Jill's comments about the show were rude and ridiculous! She is really embarrassing herself this season. Anyway---congrats on the book!

I have watched NYC since its beginning and have always thought Alex was sweet...rarely does a discouraging word leave her mouth...and never without being attacked first. I have to say this season has really sent that point home...finally she has defended herself and those that matter to her. Not only that but we continue to see what a great friend, wife, business woman and mother she is. Do her boys misbehave? yes. Do all loved children misbehave without reprimand at some point??? Absolutely. I just want to tell Alex..the normal rule is it takes 10 positive comments to erase one negative...when you open your life to the public it's the opposite...people love to criticize ...so let one positive erase 10 negative!!!!

Simon’s wardrobe can be a bit curious at times but it suits him. Why, oh why would he ever seek fashion advice from Kelly? This scene had to be staged by the producers because she definitely has the most bizarre fashion sense out of all the real housewives. P.s. Did she ask Simon if he was wearing underwear?

Best of luck to you & Simon on your new book. Would love to see it on the best sellers list. We're all rooting for you both.

Alex,

You and Simon are the FRIENDS everyone would like to have in their lives... You are compassionate, down to earth, true to yourself, WISE and at the same time calm, you inspire trust! Tonight you looked like a beautiful vision walking The Runway... BRAVO! Simon looked very handsome in his new clothes! You are an amazing couple and loving parents! I want to see you in Season 4! Otherwise I will not watch anymore RHONY, you keep it REAL! Thank you for your interesting insights,,,, without them all what is happening is just... just crazy!

Jill was just jealous she wasn't asked to contribute to the fashion show. Making a face backstage, criticizing the clothes, and the first thing out of her mouth to Ramona was rude--something about her necklace not matching her dress? I hate when people think that just because someone doesn't like a person it's because they are jealous, but it was so obvious with Jill.

My favorite thing about Sonja is that anytime I invite her to a party she always brings a bevy of cute guys.

I thought you were happily married?

Alex you are so classy. You always look on the positive side of things and that's why you are so successful! Poor Ramona, at least she can joke about it, but you can tell she was nervous, trying too hard. But what bug was up Jill's..... She seemed like a poor loser, because she wasn't up there? You guys did a fantastic job on the catwalk and kudos for you on organizing the whole thing! She seemed like sour grapes, so nitpicky on everyone. What happened to her this summer?? She needs therapy, there is a ton of anger in her.....
