Also in this episode, Bethenny hosted a Moroccan fashion show. I had only heard of one of the designers before, and thought the workmanship was amazing. Bethenny did well that night. I could tell she was nervous but she looked great, walked with confidence and did not fall off the runway; always a plus.
And that’s pretty much the end. Wow. My favorite moments of our storyline this season were the big renovation reveal and the chaos leading up to it, playing with the boys in the Hamptons farmhouse, the birthday earrings and cupcakes with the boys, Halloween and us relaxing in our blow-up pool.
Favorite Jill moment – her taking on Mario at the Page 6 party. Bethenny – the laser focus she maintained on Kelly at the Brass Monkey Sicilian Sitdown. LuAnn – losing it on the phone with her husband when he no-showed at the Hamptons Classic for Victoria. Ramona – well, if I can completely set aside for a second the fact that I’m on the show with her and am involved, I actually find her the most entertaining of all. You literally never know what is going to come out of her mouth or what she’s going to do. To pick a fave? Her absolute refusal to leave the lobby of the tennis club. A major pain in the you-know-what when it happened, but very funny 6 months later. Kelly? Running in traffic, hands down. It was one of those “this will make great TV” ideas that once onscreen made everyone scratch their heads in disbelief.
I would have PAID to see that dance with Ramona and Simon. I howled with laughter.
I loved this episode, because it was the only time I was laughing with the cast, and not at the cast. It was a happy show for the most part.
Humor is so much better than being nasty. That dance was a great ending. And to think, I had voted in the poll this afternoon that Ramona and Simon should have a dance off.
Got that wish!
You know what Alex I love you there are very few people who have achieved a life where they can have whatever they like. Just like you and me and most all the viewers we are all working hard and climbing our way to the top how dare they pass judgement I think you are great
HWNYC just happened to be on after I was recovering from surgery spring 08. I couldn't wait until this year. I wasn't disappointed. Each of you in some way were able to create a better business opportunity thru this show...answer to many snobby comments about $$$. Hats Off. Amazingly, you & Simon get my vote this year. Can't wait for next season. Keep it real - I admire you both for being exactly who you are...
The skinnygirl logo you designed was fantastic! You're very talented! Bethenny should have stuck with it instead of the new logo she has up now.
Don't feel guilty for one minute for waiting until later to call/e-mail people about Jills event.
Anybody who watches the show knows you have young children & a full-time job. I never let anyone dictate my time when my children were little. That time is to important & precious to waste on anything else, especially when you are working Full-Time. So don't "Feel Bad" you shouldn't at all.
By the way one of my favorite scenes of RHWONY was your family craving pumpkins. It was very adorable :-)
You and Simon have class when it comes to handling Ramona. She is probably jealous that you two have such a great relationship. Keep it real, as you do!!
Don't particularly care for you or Simon but I will give you credit for being an honest person at all times. Quit trying to justify why you live in Brooklyn vs Manhattan just keep working those freebies on renovation and enjoy your 15 minutes of fame. It is clear that you are both social climbers nothing wrong with that but you will never be on the high ranks in NYC social circles. The book on parenting is a bad idea you are better off selling costumes/circus outfits like the pants Simon wore today. On the other hand you both seem happy together and that's all that matters
thanks for a great season. My husband and I have a relationship very similar to what you and Simon portray , or the editing portrays...whatever. Your little boys are charming and how you kept them from being maimed during that renovation , well you two must be ready for a nice long vacation. The red pants...really??? He does that just to drive us all nuts I think. I was like ok, either you're bisexual , or your not, but those pants OMG Alex, or perhaps the joke was to be on us? I don't care for red and black bordello look, to Ramada for me, BUT, you did it good taste and I am not living there. I do like the alice cooper ...I wouldn't hang that in my house, but it was a great picture. I find you two fun and positive and happy. That in it's self is refreshing . All the crap you have put up with Alex and you just take it in stride and stay your cool, unaffected by it all, self. Now that's class. of all the woman, I think I would like to be friends with you , mostly because you have a clue, and think for a moment before opening your mouth.I myself am more like Bethany, so I appreciate your calm. Thanks for a very entertaining year and I am off to see what simon says.
Honestly, Alex, in the beginning I didn't know how to judge you or Simon. But now at the end of this season I've come to realize how much I appreciate your honesty on the show. You've never put on a show or tried to be phony. I think you're great and don't let anyone try to make you feel differently. You are a class act: a full-time employee, mother, and a great wife. You and Simon handled the whole crazy Ramona situation with class. Best in the future! :)
You are the most classy woman on the show . You also are very talented. Please, try to run your own business, you are going to have a great success.
Cheers to you and your lovely family.
I like that your blogs are always intelligent, calm and with some good-natured humor. (Unlike your backstabbing and phony castmates blogs.)
BTW, I think your logo for Beth was very cool. Much better than what she ended up choosing.
Alex
I really didn't like you or Simon in season one. And though you guys are a little weird, I'm beginning to like you a little now...but just a little! I do, however, like your writing, Alex, very much...I find your blogs very engaging. I can't wait for the reunion show!
Alex, I love your name by the way.You and Simon have a marriage it appears much like my huband and I don't let them bother you about the way you all like to go together to do things and screw women's nite out it's over rated when I worked and I didnt' go along with them they said I was scared of my husband last I checked, out of the 7I worked with their is only two of us still married. Ramona and the others only wish they have what you two do.Wonderful parent's never go wrong! By the way I love your home keep up the work. That saidYou ,Simon,Jill and Bettanny are my fav's the rest are eye candy and Kelly just needs to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh girl, you really called it right on one thing. It was absolutely hysterical and so self pretentious when Kelly was running down the streets in New York. Even on the Style channel the adorable beautiful host there had to make her comments at how insane it looked. Sorry but I honestly think that Bravo seriously needs to find a new housewife to replace Kelly as she just seriously drags the show down. I know you haven't seen the OTHER side of her unless you've watched the show yourself but she isn't a pleasant person and probably one of the most in love with herself rudest women around. If I hear her go "stop, stop, stop" and "you mean nothing to me" one more time, I think I'll scream. Seriously even though you and Simon can drive people crazy I think we would all choose you guys over Kelly any day of the week. Kelly is just a downer.
Alex - When I saw Kelly run in traffic, I thought how ridiculous and unsafe. Then I thought do people really do that? I live in Oklahoma and have never been to NYC, but I think from you and Simon, I gather that it ridiculous and no one does it. Ramona seems to have won the crazy race this season, but I think Kelly is the dark horse ready to pass her at anytime. She's an odd duck.(Hey, two animal references in one comment, how Oklahoma of me.) Seriously, I think you and Simon are great and love you on the show.
Alex, You and Simon are a great couple, but honey, why in the world did you let him out of the house in those pants?!!!!!
If you were so busy with all of your life's commitments you should not have added another with the charity, but I guess you wanted your name out there. It would have taken mere minutes to compose an email or make some phone calls. Please.
The makeup dance with Simon and Ramona was priceless, truly the best ending ever. The scenes you describe that wound up on the cutting room floor sound deliciously entertaining. Sorry we missed them! Thanks for sharing, Alex. Best wishes to you, Simon and the boys.
I have been watching the Real Housewives of NY since it began. Since then, I can't remember one instance where you or Simon ever said anything negative/mean about anyone. Despite the insane rudeness of Ramona, you have both tried to be nice like always, yet you are both nice to everyone all the time. All of the other women are incredibly mean and critical of everyone else besides themselves. I would never want to have them as a friend, but you and Simon would definitely fall under the category of great friends for anybody. You're a great couple always willing to help others at the drop of a hat which is definitely hard to find (I'm a NY resident myself). Alex is absolutely beautiful and never conceited about it. I think you're both great and amazingly caring!
Social climbers or not, you are one of the most honest and real of the group. I still love Jill, but honestly don't care for the rest of them. Bethenny has become way too full of herself, and I don't even enjoy her humor anymore. Loved your renovation, and if red is your color, good for you. I thought "bordello" was rude to say the least. Love, love, love your kitchen! Can't wait for the reunion show as I'm thinking everyone's true colors come out, but I would be surprised if you weren't yourself as usual, the calm voice of reason. Who cares what any of them have to say, be happy with yourself and your family (also loved the pumpkin carving scene), ignore what anyone has to say, and enjoy!
I enjoy you Alex. I admire anyone that can juggle family life, work and the demands of a social life like you have. You were gracious in the face all the silliness of Ramona and Jill. You have true class.
Alex, I always liked you and Simon. I enjoy the interaction you and simon have with your kids. You don't just hand them over to a nanny 24/7. I know that when you work; you need someone to watch them, but it seems that a lot of the times you want to be the one taking care of them. You don't see that too much in some cases.
I think instead of a parenting book; you should be writing a book about marriage and relationships. You seem to be able to be each other's best friend without getting lost in the day to day affairs of balancing work, children, and renovations.
That is a hard thiong to do because we know how a husband and wife relationship can end up on the back burner.
Hey Alex...if you're looking for really great chidren's art for the kids' rooms, you should check out the children's fantasy art of Monte Marfilius. It's really unique and colorful and happy. He has a website - MontesWorld.com . There's no pricing on it, but if you contact them thru the site he gives you custom pricing for these amazing limted edition prints on canvas in whatever size you want. The art is just so great for children's bedrooms, that I just wanted to let you know about it. You should take a look at his site MontesWorld.com . You'll see what I mean. Best....
It is a shame that Beth treated you so badly this season. The logo was wonderful and she should apologize to you for making fun of it and using another log. Since you are the only one who works full time and has two young children you think Beth would have been more understanding instead of constantly going after you.
Alex - you and Simon are a loving devoted couple. I admire that. I thoroughly enjoyed this season because of you. All the best in your job search. I lost one and found one too. I have been reading your blog on the HP website. You have a great writing technique and I am sure your book with Simon will be fab...
Well, would ya look at that? Alex, the "shallow, social climber" is the ONLY Housewife that actually wrote a blog and not an info-mercial. I am sick, sick, sick, of the outrageous self-promotion of the other cast members. Wasn't the Real Housewives of New York supposed to be about people that had already 'arrived' and we, as viewers, were invited to be drooling, envious, voyeurs? Alex and Simon, you were thrown in as the "wannabes" - someone for us to snicker at and feel as if we too were a part of an inner circle. In the end, you two came out with greater class and grace than those who consider themselves to be an integral part of the 'social register'. It's hilarious that the others actually fought over branding in the end, because really, that's all they know how to do- sell themselves. Enough already. Good luck to you and your family, Alex.
You and Simon are the main reason I watch "housewives"...you're both very natural and really terrific...i never hear either one of you saying unkind things about the other housewives. Have a great summer and i hope to see you both on Bravo next season.
Alex, you are busy BUT never take on more than you can handle. You are good. Ramona is a bad woman. Jill has a temper even thou her red hair is fake. Bethenny is great BUT even she is not perfect. The countess is countless and Kelly is way up there and I do not mean socially or mentally!
You and Simon make this show, and you are so real like other parents working and raising children. You really provide a balance against the other characters.
Dear Alex,
You and Simon have realy grown on me! In fact, I would hang out with with you guys over Mario and Ramona any day! Why are people so judgemental?? You two have a great relationship and I believe that the others are just jealous. Personally, like your style and individuality. I see you you both as kind and helpful people. Lets face it, we all have daily life obligations. Therefore, anything you do outside of that is gracious. Charities are wonderful - but you do what you can and that what needs to be appreciated. Best of luck in the upcoming months.
You both seem to be a great fit for each other and truly enjoy your marriage. That is a great gift in life. I do hope though that you someday realize that there is more in life than fashion and status. You both seem like nice people who are trying to climb a ladder. With your careers and lack of old wealth family name there is a glass ceiling."Want a bees" are often the brunt of jokes and you truly seem like nice people. You are entertaining yet I hope in your off camera life that you are more centered and genuine. Since this show could negatively affect your job future I do hope this show provides you both and your sons with a secure financial future.
In the beginning I could not take the both of you. Now I love you guys I love your marriage. I love how you guys are attached at the hip, I think it's the way a marriage should be you guys are a role model for all married couples.
P.S. I don't think Simon is gay I so do not get that vibe...never have I understand why others would think that but I don't think so:)
Alex I would just like to say that I think you and Simon though a little essentric are great together. It is obvious that you to have a caring relationship. I have the same3 kind of relationship with my husband (of course without the money), and some people just don't seem to understand that we actually like spending our time with our spouses. keep it up it makes for a great time when your best friend is your spouse. It has worked for myself i have been with my husband over 20 years and we are together all the time. As for Ramona who cares what she thinks she is not important. Simon just needs to accept the she is nuts and stay as far away from her as possible. She doesn't understand you guys and never will she is in her own little world that only she understands. her husband is a pompas ass too. i think if you need to choose someone from the show make it jill or Bethenny they seem not to be so judemental about you and Simon. People that are not happy with themselves seem to try and make others unhappy. Just keep being yourself and Simon ingnore those people that don't understand you, you don't need there opinion...
Alex, this season really changed how I viewed you and Simon. Seeing you spend time with Bethenney without Simon showed who you really are and I so enjoyed it. Wish we could have seen you and B singing together. Seems to me that could end up being a good friendship in your life. I found Simon less creepy and more eccentric this season. Mario is the creepy one. LOL
Hi Alex, Just wanted to say I love you guys. I find everything about you and Simon edgy and honest and very refreshing! I love the little pool, your shopping trips, children behaving like children, the red walls and the connection you have with each other. At the end of the day, seems like you guys are really enjoying your lives. Anyone with a brain would love to have a small piece of your happiness. Best of luck to you both..
Last season I did not particularly care for you or Simon, and this year you've become my favorites. Above all, you and Simon seem kind - something that I don't always detect in the others. I also think you're boys are beautiful - and, behavior-wise, typical boys. Good luck in the job search - and as we used to say in high school - stay as sweet as you are.
Thank you for another great season. I love the closeness you, Simon and the boys have - it seems so genuine.
My favourite moments of the show are always with you and Simon and the boys. While watching a rerun of Season One I saw the boys jumping on you while you were lying on the bed trying to talk to Simon - it was so cute and so real. It seems the only time parents of young children can have a conversation is if one of them becomes a trampoline! I have 3 little ones myself and have just finished an 18 month renovation. I videotaped the house at its worse and now, 5 months later, can't imagine how I survived living here with the kids and dogs.
I wish you and your family the best. Thank you for allowing the world into your home...may we always be kind and considerate guests.
Alex,
You are the best. Thank you for telling it like it is. I love your blog. Please teach Kelly how to write!
Alex, I love the fact that when a puddle starts to form around you, you simply step out of it. With the exception that you finally told Ramona (in your opinion) she is "rude". Congrats for being a lady in a situation that was spiraling into complete doo doo. The interaction between you and Simon is exquisite. The love and companionship are so evident in your casual banter. Very few men take as such a personal interest in their wives lives, but it is clear to see that Simon is definately yours to have, hold and love. Even more so, the relationship with you boys is priceless. I hope you always remember when someone offers up their opinion on child rearing that "boys will be boys". Thank you for a great season of intrigue and insight as to your life in the BIG APPLE. All the best!
Congrats on a great season .. and for holding your head high when Ramona made disparaging remarks. Something tells me the reunion show will be a lot nicer for you this year than it was last year. I wish I had seen the clips you mention in your blog - they sound a lot more interesting than a lot of the footage that did get it. Wish we had seen more of you and LuAnn this season.
First off, if you don't have the time to follow through with "Helping" a charity, you simply don't sign on to do it. If you had so much on your plate, why would you volunteer to add another task? Was it to get air time, or another opportunity to get your name affiliated with something? And the way you danced with Simon was disgusting. I am no prude but you guys carried on like you were alone in the room. It was not the time or place to act like that.
I always enjoyed seeing you and Simon in the show. It seemed to always put Ramona, et.al. on edge! Good for the show too. I think Simon looked amazing at the charity event. I love that both you and Simon go that extra mile to be different. Hope everyone is back for next season!
I really think you and your family are the only ones on this show who are living a real life. Everyone else are going around judging others and trying to act like they are "better" than everyone else. They are always talking about how the other person has no class, when they need to be looking at themselves. Nobody is perfect. Thank you both for staying true to yourselves and living your life how only you feel fit. Hope to see more of your family and thank you for sharing a part of your lives!
Dear Alex, you do have quite a bit to do and did the best for the charity. You know the old saying "you can't always please everyboby" Well that is the truth with all you have going on I'd say you did alot! As you say " the rest is just noise" You are a lady and you're awesome!
Alex, I must say that after season 1 I absolutely despised both you and Simon. What a difference a second season makes! I love to see how you both interact with your children as well as each other. Most of all I LOVE the fact that you both are 100% authentic. You both are who you are, you like what you like and you both seem to be very open and accepting of everyone. LOVED Simon being Jill's tennis partner and his outfit at the charity event.
Alex i hope we learn more about you in the next season. I think you are a very sweet women. Excellent Job on the logo....Ok but how could you ever think Jill was jealous of you and your husband.
Simon is such a dork in the most endearing way. I really could not stand him the first season but he won me over this season. He has a great attitude when it comes to others making fun of him.
PS - I love the way he dresses because it is him....he truly has his own personal style...good or bad....see you next season

Alex...Your Great! You and Simon have so much patience, especially when it comes to Romona...She can be so annoying! You do have alot on your plate and you do seem to get everything done! I am so proud of you! You Go Girl!!! LOL ;) As for Romona...she is just OUT there...she was pretty wasted at the Charity, but her and Simon looked like they were having fun, dancing...I don't know how Simon has the patience for her...lol...but he does??? :) Well, I really am going to miss all of you housewifes, I hope you come back on for another season...and OH ya...I think You and Simon are a Great Couple and your two boys are darling! Take Care Alex!! ;)
