Jeana Keough

OC vs. NY Fashion

OC Housewife Jeana Keough weighs in on this week's episode.

March 23, 2009

I loved this week's episode. It was all about fashion! I am so jealous, when I want a fabulous dress I have call NY fashion stylist Ray Oliverira and he sends me dresses. I would love to be able to just walk into a designer’s show room and try them on. Glitter Girls in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA owner Sabrina always comes through with a Project Runway designer dress for me also. So I get boxes on my porch and they get to go to showrooms, have lunch and be spoiled! I love New York! We are style conscious in the OC but NY has many more layers of clothes they get to wear! Sweaters and jackets - we rarely get to wear them here!

I had a great time at the Cox Community Golf tournament to benefit wounded Marines at the Coto Golf and Racquet Club. All the girls joined me and we raised $75,000! Sitting at a fashion show is a luxury that I can’t afford. I have a daughter in college, and all the expenses of Shane and Kara living away from home. My shopping budget is zero. My time is spent between my son’s baseball games, work and my charity obligations. Shane got to play on the major league Oakland A’s game this last week and got a triple off a major league player - he was stoked!

Jill Zarin and Bobby invited Vicki and I to a very fun dinner at the Montage Hotel when they were in California. She is a charming hostess and we got to see some upcoming episodes in their suite while drinking champagne! I missed Bethenny when she was in town promoting her book Naturally Thin. I was hoping to get to Santa Monica, but just ran out of time.

I am looking forward to the A-list Awards and seeing all the other housewives from Atlanta and New York. It should be a fun weekend with all the Bravo TV shows represented. I am taking my Duzoxin for appetite control, and now I am also drinking AS10 made by Amerisciences. It is NASA tested and is really giving me an extra lift. I am going to start making both of these available on my website. The 2 shots in the AM and PM have really boosted my overall energy level.

Nice blog, hope you make money on the diet supplement - many expenses supporting all those fam members. Your story line is nice & calm, makes you look smart! icky should take lessons- you could help her if she'd listen :)

Hi Jeana,
I have been checking out your blog recently and have wanted to find out a way to write you, but I guess here is a start.
First of all. why do you think you need to take anything to curb your appetite? You look amazing, not too thin like a lot of the housewives I have seen, and you are gorgeous, and down to earth. Stay the way you are, please don't try to change for the camera. Now if you are trying to watch your diet for health reasons, understandable, but otherwise, tell them to take you as you are, and if not, tell them to take a hike. Remember that is one of the reasons you left Matt.

Jeana, You have a warm laid back style, its easy to imagine being friends with you! I enjoy the Housewives of Orange County the best! I really like all the fun & story lines. The Housewives of New York I dont like as well! They are not as interesting as you!

Jeana, You are the BEST Housewife on all the shows. Can't wait to see the Real Housewives of N.J. re they mobster's wives?

~~~~~~~GRAMMAR ALERT~~~~~~~~~~~
"Jill Zarin and Bobby invited Vicki and I to a very fun dinner at the Montage Hotel when they were in California."
This is such a pet peeve of mine. The proper way to say this is "Jill Zarin and Bobby invited Vicki and ME...".
The best way to figure out if you should use "I" or "me" in a sentence is to say the sentence without the other person(s). Would you say "Jill invite I to dinner" or "Jill invited ME to dinner"?
I may not be OC or NYC rich and fabulous, but at least I know proper grammar when I see it...and poor grammar, too!
Come on, you all have assistants. Can't you at least get them to spell check for you before posting?
ps-I love baseball, so I am very happy for Shane that he got to play some Major League games! Hopefully, that will stave off his desire to throw bats at people. 8>)
Jeana,
You seem to have a lot of advise and knowledge. I am asking for advise on how to get really good people to donate and help with an event that I am putting on for Homicide Survivors. It is a non-profit organization that helps families that have had someone murdered. My brother was murdered September 17, 2005. So this group is very important to me. Please offer me any advise you have. I appreciate it. I love you on the show. Your so cute!!!1
This blog doesn't have much substance. What is the point?
Jeana! I saw your pictures from the golf outing! You look absolutly beautiful! I hope all is well for you and your family. You are such a classy mama!
JEANA, I somehow got hooked into all the housewife series,love the oc best. I must say that I loved Gretchen. I am an R.N. and worked Hospice for 7 years, I felt her pain, but also know the cardgivers need to feel they are still alive and I never thought bad of Gretchen when she was having her time outs. I felt you and the new lady were the only ones that showed her any compassion. these ladies from new york might as well be on anothe planet.What horrible examples they are. I have been blessed with so many true friends and these ladies are back stabbing women who don't realize how luck they are to live the lives they live. "it is hard to be hateful when you are grateful." wow lets do another charity so i can buy new clothes and be seen. yuk! signed a 60 year old from okla.
Jeana, so glad you are blogging. I remember an episode from a while back. You were out to dinner, and your oldest son was sooo rude to you. Please don't ever let anyone talk to you that way, especially your son. You deserve respect and you should demand it. He actually said, 'You're lucky you didn't get hit with a bat.' I hope he realizes how lucky he is to have a supportive mom like you before it is too late. He needs a wake-up call. I think it is sad that he learned that behavior from his dad. I'm so glad you are moving on. The guy from Phoenix, I think it was, seemed like he truly appreciated you. Hold out for someone like that bc you're a sweetie. Please don't be afraid to tell your son what's up. He will thank u for it later.
Jeana!I love the way you always have good things to say about people,I am southern cali all the way but aren't the NYC wives entertaining.They are funny and dramatic at the same time.I cannot wait too see all the bravo housewives at the Alist awards.
Jeana!! I also think you are a great mom and a beautiful woman. Kara is a knock-out.
Hope you and your are in tip top shape.
Hi Jeana! I just saw the pictures from the golf benefit, you look absolutely GORGEOUS!!! What's your secret, you must be working out everyday!
Jeana,
I love you and think you are a super person. I do think you are way to easy on your kids and hand things to them that they need to work for but there is no maual on how to raise kids and what is right and what is wrong.
I am glad you broke free from Matt as hard as that was I think you deserve someone who something to the table, you are beautiful, have a wonderful personality and offer a lot to someone and you deserve to find someone who is worthy of that.
I was glad that you stood up for Gretchen during the times when MEAN Vicky and Tamara were trying to drag her name through the mud. I think you are truly a good persona and that shines through time and time again when the others are not acting with class or tact.
I was and am a little disapointed that Shane treated you so poorly at his game and gives you such a hard time. You have given so much to him and have handed him a lot and helped him to be sucessful and to you he owes respect for god sakes you gave him life. He needs to treat his mom better.
Best to you in the dating scene and I am awaiting the next season...
Hey from Wisconsin..we are not the same here without you girl. Can't miss a gal from Wisconsin..we are all dolls.
Jeanie I'm so glad to hear from you.
Jeana,
Do not ever change. Listen to your fans, you are a favorite. I am hoping you will find your soul mate you deserve true happiness. I wish your children could see what a wonderful and gifted person you are. I am just your standard government employee, married and working 2 jobs and could never imagine having what some of you have, but you have morals, and you are always a lady on the show, I respect that about you. Some of the other ladies need to check their morals. Thanks for taking me into your world each week. Cannot wait for the new season.
Jeana..so nice to hear from you. You look and sound wonderful and it sounds like your kids are doing fine. So nice that you get to interact with some of the NYC Ladies. We, East Coasters, Love Jill and Bobby!! Can't wait for the OC season. Hope they keep all of you, except, Gretchen. Her story is over/too questionable at this point, and she was too young, anyway. Most of us want to see "real" women, wives, moms, and good role models for young women. Women who date wealthy men 30+ years older than them when they are only 30 is just not a good message to send to young women like yours, Lynne's and Vicki's daughters. They do enough of that on the "Marry a Millionaire" show and it never works out anyway. Your Kara would be too smart to get into a Gretchen saga, we hope!! We like all of you and Lynne was a fun addition last season. Hopefully, Bravo will replace Gretchen with an interesting woman that all of you can relate to.
A big congratulations to Shane! How wonderful!!
Jeana, Nice hearing how you are doing. Hope you start blogging on here. You are so funny on the show. I would love to see your take on the NY Housewives.
Be sure to blog about the Alist awards, want to hear all about it!
Jeana,
Love you! You are so funny on the show. I am so glad you are blogging. Can't wait to read your next blog!
Jeanna,
I'm so glad you're blogging now! I've been looking for it for weeks! I was worried that you weren't going to have one here afterall.
Jeana, I just love your personality and your spit and vinegar! I am interested in what you are doing for weight loss and energy. Keep up the good job and bring back the OC Housewives...you are the best!
Jeanna, I think you are wonderful and I love you and your family on the show. You've shown us how very "Real" it is to have lived with an alcohlic for so long and I admire you and your children for sharing your lives with the viewers. I wish you good luck on your weight loss program and most of all wish you lots of happiness and a wonderful new love...
Hi Jeana, Your my favorite of all. One question, why don't we see you on late nite talk shows. ? Contract???
You look fab! Keep up the good work! Can't wait for the OC ladies to come back!
Jeana~you are my favorite OC housewife!
Wow, it's great to see you blogging again, you've been missed! Wtg Shane! I've missed the OC for the most part, but, I definitely don't miss all the friction that Tamra and Vicki caused...made it hard to watch at times. Hopefully they'll take some "nice" therapy before the next season begins. God bless you and your family.
Jeana!! I hope that you are going to be a regular blogger. I am so excited to see you here. You are my favorite Real Housewife by far.
Just wanted to say how proud me and everyone else is of you for MOVING ON! You are a beautiful person and need to treat yourself as if you are. Take the best care of yourself.
I just had to tell you out of all the Real Housewives in all different cities you are my favorite house wife. I just love how down to earth and friendly you seem. I wish you were my mom! lol. Shane and Kara should know how lucky they are. My mother and I don't get along very well. So much so that I eloped and didn't tell her I was married for a whole year. Thanks for supporting our troops by the way. It means alot to me when I see people do that. I wish more people knew how hard they work and how much the sacrifice so we can all live comfortable happy lives. My husband is currently deployed on the U.S.S. Eisenhower and its definitely hard with him away. I'm originally from Sacramento, CA but I'm currently living in Virginia Beach, VA with no friends and family near by. So when he is gone I'm truely alone with all my fears and worries running through my head. His job is extremely dangerous and I pray for him everyday. Thanks again and you're wonderful!
JEANA!!!!
I'm super excited you're blogging for NY Housewives too! I can't wait to hear your opinion of things as the season progresses.
Hey, sweetie, you look great and I wish you all the best in whatever you want to do. It's your life, live it as you want to! I wish you were back on ... the wives in NYC just aren't my OC favs!! I miss you!
