Stamp of Approval

Kelly talks about her Playboy shoot and revealing the shoot to her daughters.

Mar 15, 2010

I like the fact that Bethenny sees me as lighthearted, because I am very lighthearted and I recognize how very lucky I am. As far as Jill and Bethenny are concerned, it is their war and not mine. I don't like getting into people's business. I have only filmed with Bethenny for an hour in total so I won't speak about something I don't know.

I hope you enjoy the Playboy shoot, it is because of all of you that I am where I am am. All of your attention on me has made people curious. Sea and Teddy and I have a new life because of you. So, Bravo fans, thank you.

You are a pet owner..how could you wear fur??? Its called faux fur!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kelly, Well said!!! I agree with you, you just try to do you and are very light hearted. This is a positive not negative thing. Keep being you and I love your website, it really reflects you and your personality. Love the girls and they are super cuties. All the best, Mary Ann

I love love love your bedroom and your handbag display!!!

Kelly not sure what wearing fur has to do with being an american. You said you didn't support mistreatment of animals - what exactly do you think you are doing by wearing fur? Maybe you should check out this link: http://www.peta.org/feat/chineseFurFarms/index.asp

If you aren't affected by this then there's something really wrong with you.

And if you still want to wear fur do women everywhere a favor and don't flaunt it and try to rationlize why you wear it. Seems you are overcompensating...guily conscience maybe?

I just love your comments about PETA and how right now you love to wear fur because you are "cold blooded". Duh...do you know what 'cold blooded' means?

Hey Kelly, I use to be such a big fan of yours and was excited about your playboy shoot until I learned that you are a supporter of wearing fur, there is no way that you can be a non supporter of animal abuse yet wear fur. I've lost respect =/

Kelly, You are becoming one of my favorite Housewives. It is so nice to see you interacting with the other ladies. You are gorgeous and a lovely person!

Kelly are you kidding? PETA is about not abusing animals and you said you agree with that and you do not believe in abusing animals. How do you think that fur coat was made. That they took it off the animal after it died... Come one I know you are smarter than that. It was killed and tortured to make a profit. So persons such as yourself will buy the coats. You need to look into this. You seem to love horses. Would you like to see your horse's coat as my pocketbook? As you say,,, REALLY

Hi Kelly. Quick question& comment re your comment on the show tonight (3/18/10). How can you be against animal abuse & wear fur at the same time? You made this comment a few times. The way a fur coat or clothing is made is a result of animal abuse and cruelty. How much more abusive can you get then when skinning a poor innocent animal. I think your comment needs to be re-thought. Just because you don't do the dirty work doesn't mean that your not supporting such actions with your purchase of fur.

Best of luck to you!

Your daughters are hilarious and adorable; they should have more camera time to entertain people with their (cute, funny) weirdness!

Congratulations Kelly on your cover shoot (really, who cares what it celebrates: 40 anniversary of this, that or the other -- it celebrates YOU, and women in general, that's what Playboy is to me anyway). I grew up watching my father's Playboy magazines in the 70's and was always in awe at how empowered women looked.

Also congrats on being mature enough to stay out of everyone's drama. I can't remember the last time someone asked me to take sides... maybe junior high?

I don't even know what to write! Your comments about PETA are bizarre. Your mean nature came out on the show and especially during live show with Andy last night. I just don't get you. I feel like you are always acting.

You have a very hard time talking about anything (or anyone) but yourself...I'm still wondering how on earth you became a writer too. People are curious about you, but for the wrong reasons.

KELLY, OOH LALA! IF I HAD A BODY LIKE YOURS I WOULD POSE IN PLAYBOY TOO!! WHY DOES EVERY ONE GET SO UPSET WITH YOUR DECISION? I DON'T THINK YOUR DAUGHTERS WILL RUN AMOK BECAUSE OF PLAYBOY!! THERE ARE WAY MORE WORSE THINGS TO WORRY ABOUT IN THIS WORLD. EVERY ONE IS BORN NAKED, GET OVER IT PEOPLE!! I LIKE YOUR STYLE. GO KELLY!!

Kelly: I thought the fur thing was hilarious. I mean it came off as a direct jab at Bethenny, but I think it was true to how you really feel about the topic-congrats. Some people take things WAY to seriously, and they need to get over themselves. Last season I thought you were horrible, but you seem more relaxed this year. I think your decision to do Playboy was a great decision for you...just like the PETA Campaign for Bethenny was right for her. Im really interested to see what happens next for you this season, and wish you the best of luck. P.S. Your daughters were adorable.

Oh, for pete's sake, people, get off Kelly's butt (that you're all jealous of anyway!) about the fur issue! PETA is a flippin' joke. Kelly, I don't wear fur or agree with wearing it, but I like that you take a stand for what you believe in, even if it comes off a little bit confusing sometimes! I wasn't your fan last season, but this season, you're off to a great start! And if I looked like you, I'd pose in Playboy, too...very tasteful. Great job! Don't listen to all the haters!

Kelly - you rock! It's great that we're getting to know you. Stick to your guns, if you want to wear fur it's your choice --isn't that what America is all about??

Kelly,

You are growing on me but your fur-wearing... The remark you made about Peta? Peta is weird but effective. They're very definitely against fur wearing (I'm sure we'll hear more from Peta about that). There isn't a person on earth that can say, in any valid manner, that killing animals for fur isn't abusive. Particularly those countries with no regulations that keep the animals in small cages and beat their heads until they die before stripping them. Dogs included. Cold-blooded is the right word. I'm not a vegetarian, but animals should never be killed just so someone can look stylish. Horrible.

Sometimes its better to be seen and not heard.

Need to tell you, I've really come to enjoy your participation in this show. I appreciate your attitude toward life

Animals are meant to be eaten and worn. Vegetarians used to all die when the next winter came around. Now they have soybeans and roots to eat all year round. Too bad!

Congratulations on the Playboy shoot- you are beautiful! I loved what you said on the show with Andy that we are in free country and you can ware what you want.

Kelly, You looked fabulous for the Playboy shoot. Thanks for proving that women can still be appealing past their 30's.

As for PETA: unless Bethanny eats no meat, wears no leather clothing, shoes, handbags, etc. & is diligent about which cosmetics, shampoos, soaps, beauty items & household cleaners/products she uses (that aren't tested on lab animals) she is hardly a representation of the PETA philosophy. She just made a calculated business decision to pose nude.

Loved you on Watch What Happens.

Kelly - Since you love wearing fur, but don't like cruelty to animals - you'd better read up on what they do to animals in order to get their fur.

I think you are a great addition to the group, however I find it odd that you need a "stamp of approval" to consider yourself beautiful or sexy. The feeling of being beautiful or sexy comes from within, a magazine like Playboy shouldn't have to tell you that!

Kelly,

Your little Blonde daughter is the best. Her smartass comments were cute without being rude. Is this the way she always is? Really enjoyed all of you. Get her some more air time, especially if this is her real personality.

I think your fantastic! And, where oh where did you get those tall brown boots you had on last night when you were trying on the adorable fur jacket/vest??

Loved, Loved the boots! And the Vest. You Rocked it girl!

I think your fantastic! And, where oh where did you get those tall brown boots you had on last night when you were trying on the adorable fur jacket/vest??

Loved, Loved the boots! And the Vest. You Rocked it girl!

Kelly, you ROCK! Stay positive - don't ever change!

I think you have done a great job with your girls. They are adorable! I give you lots of credit for that. I am enjoying you a lot more this season. I think we are seeing the real you. Last year I believe you were very cautious and tried to control what we saw of you and your life.

Kelli, I think you are an awesome mom and I think you have tried to handle yourself well on this show and you are not like the nasty backbiters on this show. I commend you wanting to deal with the Bethenny thing last year like you did, but you NEED to improve your ability to communicate. That is what went wrong during that face to face with Bethenny then, and it is showing itself again this season. I think you need to do this for your own sake, when you do interviews and for this show as well. I think you try to say the right things, but they come out so nonsensical and confusing to everyone who listens.

I like your stand to not comment or be involved in the Jill and Bethenny war and is always the stance I take with my friends and family. People don't like it, but it is the right and appropriate stance to take.

I saw you on Andy's dog and pony after show, I am SO glad you didn't apologize for wanting to wear fur. Your so right and Peta needs to get this thru their tofu eating simple brain's. In this country its our right to want to wear fur, eat meat and hunt and fish and do all those things we have done that are within the law of this country, just as much as PETA is allowed to protest it.

for those who don't like what Kelly said, go SUCK something!

Kelly...you are really growing on me. I think you have a very positive attitude. I do, however, wish you would reconsider to opinion on fur. It is just so very cruel to the animals. They feel pain and it is such a lame way to die..... just for fashion. PETA may be way out there but they are so effective in raising awareness regarding animal cruelty

I do not get what the big deal is? YOU ARE a model. It makes no sense for you to turn down a modeling gig. AND it is nice that your ex husband was the photoGr. THANKS for sticking it to PETA. LOVE IT!! Wear fur N eat meat in PEACE and enjoy it.

Kelly, last Season I truly thought you were awful, but you are now quickly becoming my favorite. You are who you are and I can see that you run from drama like the plague. I think you would be a good friend. Fin caring and nurturing friends who won't stab you in the back. Men will come and go, but your BFFs will always have your back.

I want to commend you for being the adult in the room, and cutting of the cat fight between Bethaney and Jill. You did the right thing in leading Jill away, as she had already said that it was not the right time or place, but obviously Bethaney was not having any of it.

I have not always appreciated your participation on this show, but I will be looking at your differently after seeing you show how a lady is supposed to act in public, especially when she comes from a place of previlage. You set a great example for your children, and for the many people watching.

Bravo to you!

Lastly- there is FAUX fur- which can look just as good and is not cruel to animals- please look into it!

I love animals, but I also love my ability to make my own choices!! I "get" what PETA stands for, however I will NEVER support a group that bullies people, threatens people, and attacks people. Your PETA comments will probably shock a lot of people, but I think it's great that you were ballsey enough to just say it.

Kelly I loved you when noone else did,or very few,I am loving you this year more than I thought I could.I love that your trying w Luann&Jill.I think they are good company to keep for along time..I like evry1 else's positive comments about you on this blog.Like 90%are positive. You didnt bash PETA,cmon already.Maybe not a perfect anology but it show's you are a human being, and If ppl think it's warped then I am warped and love who I am and who you are!!!25 or 30 yrs ago for over 100 years ago ppl wore fur and theyre was no problem.I am an animal lover, but on 1 hand 1 person says mistreament for Fashion, hoever we Eat meat. Most of America eats meat. They r Aniamls..Loving R.H.N.Y.C.

Kelly,

I suggest you research the fur industry and its cruelty towards the animals who are skinned alive so you may shamelessly wear fur (and leather). While you are at it, also research the consequences behind your meat consumption as well, including the negative impacts on animals, the environment, and human health. Cruelty towards animals is not sexy by any means. Your ability to advocate for the wearing of fur and eating of meat shows your ignorance to these issues, which is surprising given your career in the fashion and modeling business. It's good to know that at least one housewife (Bethany) gets this!

I was just starting to like you and then you did the fur scene where you say you don't support cruelty of animals but you wear fur. What do you think happened to the animal who originally wore the fur you are wearing. Do you think it just died quietly in it's sleep of old age? Pita can be a little over the top but they do get word out there about animal cruelty. I thought you loved animals?

Well well well. Look who's looking smarter and classier than all of the other women this year.. Good work, Girl, I hope you keep it up- you are playng this game just right and the others are all looking crazier by the minute.. like they need some meds and fast.. they just do not know how to shut up EVER.

Kelly, if you choose to wear fur then wear fur but don't act like you don't support animal cruelty. Fur is one of the most obvious forms of animal cruelty so wearing it means you're turning a blind eye to cruelty against animals.

Kelly - Please quit using the word..amazing.. You wrote.... I have never thought of myself as beautiful or sexy. You needed playboy to say you were beautiful before you believed it? Really -Are you serious! I hope this years shows put you in a better light. Remember you said that you created an amazing life for you and your children.( there's that word again,,amazing..)Hopefully this season we will see some of it!

Kelly: I think you should get your facts straight before you make comments about an organization on national television. PETA *never* condones (look that word up in the dictionary) the wearing of fur. The people who say animals were made to kill and eat--perhaps so--but that does not excuse the torture of animals reaised for meat and fur. Do you know where the fur came from on the fur items you wear so GREATLY? How can you know that the skins used for that item were not torn from animals while they were still conscious? I honestly wonder how the self-righteous people who make comments against PETA would react if they were captured and tortured? Most likely they'd become terrified, screaming babies. Wake up, Kelly.

Why are PETA supporters so abusive to people and love to attact anyone that doesn't share their beliefs. I love my pets and support SPCA but I too wear fur. That is my choice as it is my choice to make my pets part of my family. However, I won't be adopting any wild animals that would tear my beloved dogs to shreads. Too many things are taken to extreems and people with opposing views shouldn't be attacked and degraded.

I'm sick of the self righteous, all knowing and overly offended.

I'm also tired of people disecting your every word and looking for anything negative in order to attact you. What does that say about them? People that say they are cold blooded and like to wear a warm fur are simply saying they get cold and need warmth. Is this really so difficult to understand??? We all know what you meant but some need to attack other's unnecessarly.

If you spoke to and about people the way Bethenny does I think people would stone you in the streets. Yet she is praised, so hypocritical.

I hope you keep your positive attitude and don't let the attackers faze you, living well is the best revenge!

Kelly, This has been haunting me for the last couple of nights, so I have to share with you my honest response to the latest RHNYC episode. I'm not an animal activist, but I am a vegetarian who believes that we have a responsibility to others, including animals and our environment. I'm not saying that it's always easy, but I think everyone should put some effort into minimizing animal cruelty and environmental destruction. And buying fur coats because you're "cold-blooded" (which actually means "lacking feeling or emotion" - from dictionary.com) doesn't help either cause one bit. This isn't about PETA, it's about you're responsibility as a human being and as a mother of two children who will inherit this world as we leave it. It also seems as though you made a dig on PETA and animal rights just because Bethany was doing her campaign. Why do you care so much that you have to go out of your way to buy fur and belittle animal rights organizations? Just focus on your own life and carry on, like Bethany does!

I had a question about your comments in the last episode. You said:

“Peta isn’t saying don’t wear fur. They are saying don’t abuse animals. I am not abusing animals, I am just wearing fur. I’m not afraid of fur. Do I wear fur? Yes! Do I support the abuse of animals? NO!"

How do you suggest we obtain the fur without harming the animal? Maybe let it die from starvation or perhaps hold on to it until it dies in captivity and we can remove the fur before its decays? Please realize that I am being sarcastic. There is no way to acquire animal fur without causing harm for the animal.

Yeah Kelly! You did a fantastic job in the last episode! I mean how retarded is PETA? Those animals will die one way or another (I mean, everything dies, right?). It's like, we're just helping it along. And with all that cattle and chickens around, if you don't eat those chicken wings, they'll probably all just kill and eat each other. And that would be a form of canibalism. By eating meat and wearing fur, we're just keeping them from going to hell. ('cuz canibals go to hell). Anyway, I'm really glad you referenced America in you're defense of meat eating. I mean, its the American way, right? We are a special country: anyone can choose to eat meat or wear fur or kill whales/dolphins or carry guns. It's our RIGHT. And these animals are a nusance - remember the one that killed the woman who fed it. Good thing there taking care of it right now. Anyway, thanks for standing up for the good old american values. It sad that our god needs defending at this time, in this economy. But Jesus will come and save those of us who are true to our faith. Those of us who believe in what's right.

I love your blog and dislike the way people talk about you on the show. You are honest, true and as the saying goes living in the moment! (We chould all learn from you.) To me if you get your words mixed up now and then well welcome to the real world! I think the other people, husbands, wives, friends must practice over and over so they can appear to be perfect. Your blogs prove your intelligence. Don't change, and I agree with your other bloggers. If we eat me, don't waste the animal wear the fur!!! I particulary like to wear leather, that doesn't mean I go up to the arctic and club baby seals, you looked great in that fur vest/coat! Don't Change you are a wonderful mom.
