And Finally, A Poem Of Sorts

Reactions to Alex's explanation

By Luann de Lesseps

You and Bethenny ran into Simon and Alex at the Habitat for Humanity benefit and had a pretty colorful conversation. Were you surprised Alex was so frank with you?

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New York City on Peacock and catch up on the Bravo app

My friend Susan Shin at Shin Advisors did a great job that night organizing the party for Habitat for Humanity, raising awareness and money for those who have lost their homes. There was a point at the silent auction where Bethenny, Alex and I spoke about why she would bring her husband to girls' night. She didn't really see the point of having girls' night out and didn't seem to think there should be a separation between men and women. What planet was she born on??? To say the least, I was surprised by her response. Real_Housewives_NY_107_22.jpg

This episode saw you doing some charity work for the Soho Partnership. Can you talk about why it's important to you and how you got involved in it? Any updates on the woman you interviewed?

My good friend Henry Buhl started the Ace/Soho/Tribeca Partnership. He came home one day and a homeless man asked him for money. Henry responded by saying, "You have two hands and you can work." He gave him a broom and that's how it started. I think it's great to get people back on their feet knowing they can start over and get their lives back. Karen is doing well and is still looking for employment.

There "2008 Ace Award Dinner" benefit will be held on June 10 at Capital, bringing together all walks of life. I am on the Benefit Committee, and there will be signed brooms from Whoopi Goldberg, Zac Posen and one from me. Jill's party was great because she's a great hostess. She pays a lot of attention to detail and I respect people who look after their friends like that. Like I said on one of the shows:

"Jill would give you the shirt off her back, Ramona would tear the shirt off your back, Alex would buy the shirt off your back and Bethany would bake cookies on it if she could"
