Dear Bravo Viewers,
I don't care how much I sweat, I am never doing that operation to kill the sweat glands. I have to find out if Ramona went back and did the other armpit. On second thought, of course she did, it was a walk in the park for the two of them! I thought I would pass out. I can't believe this woman, Dr. Sharon Giese can do armpit surgery all day long. I was very impressed with her thorough suction or zapping skills, or whatever it was that she was doing. I couldn't focus on what she was saying and all I could think is I need to vacuum my house. Ramona was so brave, but she didn't see what I saw. Excuse me ... I need another juice box, or a jelly bean, or a gummy bear.
It was weird because Kelly opened the conversation about having a man over for drinks and then I suggested the side door because you don't want your children to be confused with a new gentleman caller, but then she was flustered. I could tell she didn't have girls over for drinks often because first she opened wine, and then before we had finished that glass and our (?) ... jelly beans, she opened a bottle of champagne. Nevertheless, I just wanted her to be comfortable, so I gladly accepted both. She really did seem to want to discuss dating and men, after all we are three single women of a certain age. Anyhow, this is when we had dinner at Pierre's in Bridgehampton and I blew the lid off the night with "Sex is healthy, even after divorce." (Whoa - news flash!) LuAnn said Italian men were fun to date but not to marry! On that same night Kelly paid me the highest compliment because she said I was exactly the kind of girl her ex-husband would love. That was sweet and generous of her to say, so we were off to a good start. I continued being giddy with the girls when I brought up Max who I had dated for some time before Kelly stepped out with him on camera. He's hot, and he knows how to make a woman feel beautiful, so I was dying to share the afterglow with Kelly. However, Kelly wasn't biting. So I had to drop it. Darn! Such a good topic - tall, dark, handsome, Argentinian with education and manners. "You gotta hawt bawdy" boy.
Kelly came over as a friend after my surgery, if you can even call it that since it was such a small procedure. Excuse me folks I DO exercise! Why did she say that? Did she say that? I certainly am NOT lazy. I am ACTIVE. I guess everyone across American knows that by now. :) All kidding aside, at a certain point some body areas are exercise resistant. So I decided to have the donut removed like many health and beauty fanatics do. I like a full bust and a soft derriere but don't like my tummy hanging over my jeans! I am a health nut who juices daily, takes vitamins, stays active, works out, does yoga, goes to sweat lodges, eats healthy and reads up on nutrition and spirituality. And...YES, I wanted the area around my gorgeous belly button GONE! Did I really need to do it? No, but it's my body and I will do with it what I want, and no apologies. I love my body! I cherish it. When my daughter is old enough to make these kinds of adult decisions, and has the tools she needs to make wise choices for herself, she will decide what is most important to her. No one else.
Sonja- I just want you to know that I love-LOVE you. You are a class act and I love to watch you interact with the classless bitches from New York, where I'm sorry, money does NOT buy you class (Jill). You remain cool as a cucumber and you make me giggle when you rise above everyone else's senseless jibberish (Kelly). Thank you for a glimpse into your fab life!!
Heather from Idaho
Hey girl, you are so funny and naturally charming, but get over yourself already. You are kinda off putting this season.. I agree with you about Alex and Simon however, but relax and be the real person you are
I love Sonja the best she is real and down to earth. She looks the best overall of all the housewives. She has kept herself totally together. That's what taking care of yourself does on how well you can age gracefully!I also thought Bethenny Frankel was awesome and I'm so happy for her new show and her Success with the Skinnygirl Margarita!!!

You need to take a lesson from Bethanny Frankel of how to treat other people - specifically your hired help! She welcomes them in her home like family, includes them in holiday events and would never keep them from dancing with a friend who walks in the door. That was a low blow!
Dear Red Sonja, You're great. You're such a welcome breath of fresh air into the show. I hope the producers don't goad you into being more "dramatic" to stir things up because you have all the right ingredients to be a modern-day role model of the 21st century. Your style, beauty, humor, grace, and most of all, your unwavering focus on making sure your guests/friends are comfortable in any setting truly defines you as a lady. I love watching you and best of luck to you in all your endeavours! Sincerely, R.J.
Hi Sonja, you seem so centered and calm! How do you do it? Can you tell me where you got that white hat, it looked cotton or canvas with white detail on it. I have had melanoma and need to wears hats now, and u made it look so elegant on the st johns, st barts trip where kelly went off the deep end. Thank sooo much!
Sonja... you are such a great addition to the show. This season has been a real laugh to watch... all that bitching... amazing... and from middle aged but totally gorgeous (if not sometimes spoilt) women. Your down to earth and gracious attitude is truly refreshing. Keep on smiling and enjoying life to the max!
I absolutely adore you!!! I think you have made the show so much better. Showing your vulnerable side to the public allows us to connect with you on a personal level. Some of the other women really annoy me because of how fake and bitchy they come across. They try to be classy, however, i feel that you demonstrate all the true qualities of what classy is. You are amazing, and i thank you again for being real.
Sonja - You are an absolute breath of fresh air on the show. I love the show to begin with but when you came on it was even BETTER! You are a great mediator, true friend, and a genuine lady. You make me laugh and think at the same time. Being an honest, compassionate person is explaining you to a "T".
LOVE YOU SONJA, i hope bravo sees who needs to stay and who needs to go. not mentioning any names but your graciousness and kindness came through, nutbag has to go. you make it so much fun and real, which is why i like bethanny so much. i like the other women too besides the one who always causes the drama on "scary island" as she quoted it. please stay on the show, that will be the only reason i would watch the next season, otherwise im outa here........
I love you as an addition to the show! the ultimate compliment is that my 7th grade daughter notices how "graceful" you can be when trying to illuminate the positive in others when the rest of us are undoubtedly thinking "huh??" Be that Ramona and her crazy comments, Alex's weird aloofness, Bethenny's never ending and oft inappropriate cynicism or Kelly's "kelly-ness" with the jelly belly beans. You seem to always strive to put others at ease. hope you come back
You are a gal's gal, and so much fun! You are the kind of friend I love to have - honest, kind, laid back, and great fun! I hope you continue to be on the show, because you're one of the reasons I continue to watch it!
Sonja, you are the most real woman of all the housewives, of course, within the realm of reality of the circle in which you circulate. I like that you've been honest enough to admit that you had some difficulties adjusting to becoming a divorced woman. It's sad but our society and many fellow women rank other women based on their marital status. It is evident that you're the most centered and happy of the housewives. I think that the fact that you are single and embracing it makes you more interesting. I hope that they bring you back and give you more time in the show.
sonja, you're like a breath of fresh air to the NY housewives. I've yet to hear the usual catty remarks and backstabbing come from you (or from alex) as easily as it comes from jill and luann. with ramona..she's honest to a fault, but she'll tell you to your face, which i admire an awful lot. does anyone else comment on your resemblance to barbra streisand? (much younger of course). i'm looking forward to another season with you on RHONY, and keep it real...it makes you so much more attractive than the others.
Great, great blog! Thank you for opening up to the viewers with your take on the season. Your breezy attitude brought lightness to the dark, dismal storyline.
With Bethenny off to greener pastures, the focus will be more about NYC and not the "Perils of Pauline". Hopefully, next year will be more fun.
Sonja, You are a wonderful addition to the group of housewives on the show. You get along with everyone and are very likeable. You are kind and considerate and know how to be a good friend to other women. I liked you even better after reading your blog. I like the way you stuck up for Ramona about the seating arrangements at her dinner party. I like Ramona alot and she only wanted everything to go smoothly and have everything nice for everyone. Jill likes to deliberately get Ramona rattled. And no, it isn't gracious or classy to change the seating arrangements.
It was funny the first night you were on the show and they were mad at Ramona for something and talked about her to you. Then come to find out, you already knew her and were good friends with her. The laugh was on them.
I look forward to seeing you on the show next season.
Sonya, you're my new fav house wife ! I don't wanna post if you don't read them . I would think you are to buzzzzy to read your post. LOL
I think you and i see alot of thing alike .. I love to be open with Sex, dating and etc. You brought the heat to this show.. I thought Kelly was but ... We all know she brought the break down ! I would like to see more footage of you and Ramona . My other favorite Housewife. Funny as hell that Ramona "ReNewal " love it .. Sonya keep the flawlessness going. You have no reason to ever feel insecure. Samantha from Sex and the City . Love it. Well this is my favorite pass time that takes me from day to day life. Until next time..
Be Well Keira
Der Sonja, You really need to focus on something more than the one night stands. That implies that the sex was not very good. You are older now and need a focus other than trying to bed down men. How about trying something new like acting classes? I would love to see you do something risky like skydiving? How about planning a fundraiser for the ASPCA? Your talents are way too underutilized. Out of all the ladies you would be the most fun to take on a trip.
Dear Sonja, I think you are struggling to find who you are on the show. I suggest you embrace you love of party throwing and hire Shawn the wedding planner Bethenney used.He is ratings gold girl, and you and him together would be magic! I know that you two would be funny and you would not degrade him at all. If you love my suggestion, please invite me to your first party that he plans for you. I need to get out of Pittsburgh ever now and then, and my daughter works in NYC so I would love to come.
YOU ARE CLASS ALL THE WAY!!!!! Love your words, your style, your attitude and most of all, your honesty.
Sonja--You are like a glass of Sangria on a hot summer day! Just what's needed on a show which has become stuffy with a capital "S"! You say it like it is in a classy way and are not the least bit full of yourself. I am looking forward to next season with you.
You are a gorgeous woman. You need to start seeing yourself that way. Hold yourself to a higher level of respect for yourself and your body. And yes, getting older is not fun on the outside, but you look awesome for your age, so claim it girl!!!!!!!!!!! Hope to see more of you.
Sonja, it is uplifting to see you on the series. You bring much needed happier situations to the show. I know you are very confident and it shows. Glad you are aboard. Bring some of your friends to the show.
The show needs a kick in the pants. The characters: Kelly, Jill, the Duchess need to be replaced.
I'm so glad you came to the show!! You are so much fun to watch and added some much-needed humor to some of those scenes that were getting out-of-hand.
Guess it may not mean much to you, coming from a gay guy, but you are one beautiful, sexy, hilarious woman!!
Hope the next season hurries up & gets here! Have a great summer!
Sonja-You are simply fantastic and a real example of how a lady should conduct herself. You have a stunning sense of humor, and I love to hear your perspective! It really inspires me to see how you really live true to yourself, without being affected by the opinions of others. I think all women need a lesson on that! There's a book idea in there somewhere? I admire the way you convey such class with a great mix of sensuality! Good for you! Your glamour and fascinating interests are a great source of entertainment. This is the first time I have ever commented on a blog, but I just felt compelled to tell you how much you are loved! Go girl!
I love you Sonja! You are a class act. Well spoken, intelligent, diplomatic and entertaining. As a diehard fan of NYC Housewives, I was uncertain about someone new ~~ yet what a refreshing wonderful addition you are! YOU are my new favorite!!
You are my favorite Real Housewife. I love how down to earth and real you are. You don't judge people and have the patience of Job (on that island trip you were so patient when Kelly was losing her marbles - that was so scary, but you were so calm). You are the kind of friend that can be counted on and are an extremely welcome addition to the RHONY (some of the girls were so mean and catty this year - you were a breath of fresh air). Good luck with everything and I hope you have a wonderful summer vacay. :)
I'm the person working on a third masters degree she doesn't need. Thanks for mentioning me, Sonya. ;-)
Thanks for your positive attitude.
The rest of America got your joke, so don't worry there and don't judge the success of a joke or comment on Kelly. She doesn't get cultural references and misquotes cliches. I'm laughing with you.
you have a great summer too. you've been a great addition to the show. hope you Ramona & Bethenny return!!
"You can't please everyone all the time, but you can have their respect for being yourself." Is that your words and may I quote you? I love it! Sheesh you probably won't see this, so I hope you won't mind if I use the quote and attribute it to you. :D You're just great!!! You make me laugh but you're so compassionate, beautiful (inside and out) and brilliant too!
Ah Sonja,I have no idea why any man would ever let you go. You are so down the earth, honest, kind, sweet, funny and gorgeous. I think your time has come and you will meet a lovely man who will love you for who you are. Glad you have joined the New York women. You, Alex, Luanne and Jill will have to watch out for Kelly. I like Kelly, I know she is a pill sometimes or maybe taken one or need one, but deep down she is just trying to find her way...just like the rest of us. All the best to you.
Thank you, Sonja :) I can't believe I'm posting on a blog, again, but I have to repeat that you are A BREATH OF FRESH AIR!! You are terrific on the show and your blogs really give viewers the feeling that we're getting the inside scoop. THANK YOU for being such a delight to us all. Funny insights - you say what we're all thinking. Love that you are real friends with Ramona. Have a wonderful summer!
I really like that you are a NY housewife.....we need some fresh blood on the show....you are a wake up call to all the other housewives....I welcome you and I enjoyed this season...can't wait until next season
Sonjo you must have a lot of time on your hands to put up with this show. Pink is your color you just pop off the tv. I wish you well.
