A Party Is A Party

Ramona had a pretty big reaction to Simon coming to your dinner party. How did you feel about how she reacted? How did you feel about Simon wanting to come to the party?

A party is a party. I love people and honestly, it was fine. In retrospect, funny actually. There is something to say about being alone with your girlfriends. Then we can talk about our husbands or boyfriends. The vibe was definitely different with Simon there. If we had been alone with Alex, just once, maybe we would have been able to share some stories. Perhaps on Season 2??? (If it happens!) I do love to entertain and appreciated Brad for coming over to help me set the table. Of course we used Zarin products too for the dinner party! My friends and family have told me I am a great cook but it was wonderful to have Bethenny prepare such a beautiful meal. I told Ramona that her behavior was immature when she called me to apologize privately a week later. Of course I forgave her as I try not to hold on to bad energy (though it is hard to do sometimes).

You and Brad put together a great party. What's the method to your madness?

Brad and I have a unique relationship. I know he loves me, but doesn't always show it. I am lucky to have him in my life and we would do anything for each other. We work together at ZarinFabrics.com designing homes all over the world. In fact, Brad is in Highpoint right now sourcing product for a few large projects in NY, Florida and Russia. We have an outstanding design team and are very busy. I loved the dinner table setting scene because I am designing a special table setting for the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House Benefit at the Park Avenue Armory on April 24.

We met your sister this week! Can you talk a little about her and your relationship?

I think I am MOST grateful to my mom for giving me a sister (actually she came first!) Words can never describe the love and loyalty I have to Lisa. When Lisa decided to start a new career after practicing law for 20 years (she graduated from law school at 15 -- just kidding!), I was shocked. She has a wonderful family and law practice and was making a big sacrifice financially. As some people know, it's hard to make money in the radio biz. But this was Lisa's dream. I told her then that she would need advertisers so ZarinFabrics.com became her first. In just 18 months her show website, www.livewithlisaradio.com receives over 350,000 hits a month. Live! with Lisa has become the top-rated show on her station, WSTC/WNLK 1350/1400, airing Saturday mornings from 10:30AM-12:00 PM , and she has expanded to Yale's WYBC on Fridays! I am saddened to say that my stepson is back in the hospital. After 4 nights home with us, he needed to be readmitted. He is suffering terribly and I am doing everything possible to get him out of pain. He is with the finest Rheumetologists from 2 of the finest hospitals in NYC for this disease. He is trying a new drug tonight and hopefully this one will finally start to work. In between running to the hospital, I am going to meetings, taking care of my family. We are so proud of Allyson. She was honored last week at an arthritis event and received an outstanding report card and comments from her teachers. And last but not least, I've been developing something the Bravo fans have been asking for. LuAnn and I developed a fabulous line of "Team Jill" and "Team LuAnn" t-shirts, baseball shirts, and yoga pants. I promise, as Jill Zarin, they are the BEST quality -- TO DIE FOR. I have not gotten out of my thermal "Team Jill" shirt all day! Everywhere I went today, people wanted my shirt. LuAnn and I are donating 10% to charity, and we are making a limited edition of them as most of them are hand crystalled, so please place an order as soon as they are posted.
