Bringing the Baggage

LuAnn addresses her camel incident and the drama the ladies brought with them.

June 2, 2011

Ya Ha Bi Bi!

In this episode you see that with the luggage, comes the baggage!

Ramona's accusations are untrue. It never happened and it never will. I think she's jealous because Mario and I speak Italian and she doesn't understand a word we are saying.

The seating arrangement in the van was a non-issue for me. I just wanted to chat with Sonja during the ride and I wanted to be close to the driver since I was coordinating this trip. I think Cindy overreacted.

Truly, I thought Sonja was more adventurous! Sonja's fears are understandable when traveling in a foreign country, but it's better to blend in than stick out as a wealthy American all dressed in white, wearing a hat and carrying a very large tote bag. Jill jokes about her fanny pack and her choice of clothing for the souk visit, but she was able to enjoy herself much more because she felt safe. I always say that it's best to fit into the culture you are visiting than to expect special treatment because you are an American.

Now I know the meaning of shaking in your boots! Camels are much taller than horses, and if I were to be thrown from such a high height, I would have been seriously injured. Nonetheless, I love new and exciting experiences and surviving the bucking camel will be something I remember forever.

I wasn't upset in the slightest that Sonja decided not to ride the camel; especially after the experience I had with my camel! Even though I got thrown off a camel, I got right back in the saddle.

I think that your comment you made after riding the camel was highly inappropriate. My sister was born with epilepsy and to make fun of anything having a seizure is the most awful thing a person can do. You walk around throwing money at charities and yet do not take the time to simply be a nice person. How you treat others, such as Alex or anyone that is not like you or does not agree with you, will come back to bite you in the end. You are the most contradictory person I have ever come across in my life. I hope you take a good look at how you act and change while there is still time.

LouAnn, just because you snagged an elderly count does not give you good manners. You should read a book by someone who actually knows good manners and practices them. Stop lording it over everyone, you are just a much younger woman who happened to marry royalty. Good manners dictaate that you not point out anyone else's manners. And are you that insecure that you refuse to see these people for they really are? You are a diva without the talent to back it up. Lighten up on Alex, she has class.

LuAnn,
You are a very driven woman with a great sense of appreciation for manners and treating people with respect. Having said that, lately it appears that you have no manners and you ARE making DIGS at some of the women. I guess you think it is your way or or the highway. Again, there is where the "driven" part comes in with your personality.

Luann-
You are so cool. I just have one dissappointment this season. The Psychic was a horrible touch so not you. You are so above that nonsense. I am a women of faith and it bothered me that the show played into this Psychic. You are incredible and I hope your new relationship is all you wish for. You deserve to be happy.

I like you the best LUANN---CLASSY LADY ALL THE TIME! PIECE MAKER
Alex can ride in the back seat or leave the show--no one will miss her!
ROMONA is hard to figure out--she talks_____? But does keep things going in both directions. JILL,I like too---she means well and ismaking the best of it w/ROMONA! Kelly is a little young and free"er than the rest of ya---she dont talk the same laugage.

LuAnn I am loving you this season. Keep growing the hair out long. You are by far the sexiest house wife this season. What ever the boyfriend is doing is working! :D

Luann,
You really did a spectacular job in planning the Morocco trip for the ladies.
Too bad to it wasn't good enough for "some".

Luann, you by far are the hostess with the mostest! So extravagant! And how you managed not to sell-off Sonja and Ramona for some camels is beyond me! They were so rude! For Pete's sake! Brad Pitt just left that home and those two have the gall to complain! Bravo to you!

I do not understand why you and Alex aren't better friends. She appreciates the world so much and seems to know how to behave everywhere she goes and I would think you would respect that. You are really hard on her and it just doesn't make sense and it certainly doesn't appear to be very classy.

I do not understand your comment about Alex's outfit for the camel ride. What was wrong with it? I thought she was appropriately dressed, unlike Cindy in her short shorts.

Loved the trip you planned out, you welcomed everyone and were gracious. My fav!

Luann, I through that you planned the perfect trip...really everyone should of felt safe and secure with all the preperations you made...
I thought the four of you looked like the class part of the party, you wore the proper cloths and looked perfect for each event, your behavior was lady like and respectful...while the others brought all the wrong cloths and acted like a bunch of (with the exception of Alex) middle aged drunks! When they watch this they must feel so imbarrassed. Alex needs someone to help dress her. She wears all the wrong cloths for her figure and they are not very tasteful,I'm sure they are expensive.
Anyway, so far it has been very exciting seeing your experience each and every week in Morocco. Sad to see it end.
Many compliments to you and good luck to you in the future.

How one could maintain their composure and dignity while being bucked by a 2-story high camel is a better woman than I. Have you thought about rodeo? You would be a hoot in a boot out of the shoot, dahling! xoxo

I agree with another viewer...You always believe Jill over everyone...Jill is never in the wrong...but she so is, just like she was with Bethenny...

I do feel Ramona owes Jill an apology. For goodness sakes, they have been friends for over 20 years and she can't let her use the bathroom or get Jill & Bobby a glass of water or tea?
Give me a break, all these women know Jill, they acted like she was a she devil.
It must have given Ramona a thrill to see everyone get on Jill.
Anyhow, you are the classiest and Ramona's attitude has certainly changed and not for the better.
Talk about a two face.

Luann,

How many times, according to your book on etiquette (?), must one apologize for some imagined faux pas? The faux pas in St. John was JILL'S not Ramona's. You would know that if you HAD BEEN THERE. Do you think? Ramona did apologize for the way Jill felt saying it was the last way she would want her to feel, she did not apologize for her decision that Jill should leave. YOU told Jill she SHOULD NOT GO. What happened to that insight when it came to the conclusion you yourself expected??? Oh, that's right, it had to do with Ramona so naturally you had to jump to the other side of sensibility. What a sad case you are.

Luann,
What's your problem with Alex? Why always putting her down-implicitly,and explicitly, saying she is not good enough. Luckily for you she has a lot of class, and self control because if this was RHoNJ you would have been smacked already.I look forward to a time when Alex really tells you off.

I cannot believe you think that Ramona needs to apologize to Jill for what happened on the island-did you even watch the episode?
Since you were not present how can you have a fair opinion?
During the one staged opportunity at Ramona's apt. where Bethenny and JIll were given a chance to make up, you took Jill's side and empowered her to walk away. Happy for the opportunity to have Jill for your own as you seemed to be threatened at times by who Bethenny is and her honesty.
If Jill has anyone but herself to blame for herfailure to make amends with Bethenny besides herself-it is you more than Ramona. At the apartment you could have tried to encourage Jill to give Bethenny the chance to mend it-instead you helped to tear it to shreds irreparably.

love your style!

Luanne i laughed and laughed and had to keep playing the part over and over when you were on the camel ride, oh my God it was hilarious watching you bounce around on that camel, I'm glad you weren't hurt but thanks for the best laugh i had in a while, love u lots.

Michelle

As I would have expected, you behaved with total class and respect for the local culture. I am so sorry you had to deal with such immature nonsense mostly from Ramona and Sonja, did it by chance feel like you were traveling with 15 year olds? Thats how they acted!! You were such a gracious hostess and I was impressed with how you kept your cool the entire trip. Jill, Kelly and Cindy all seemed to do the same. Best of luck and patience is a virtue..lol.

Luann learn to be more open-minded and see Ramona's side. I think all of America agrees that Jill is wrong, and Ramona did what a good hostess should have done in that situation when Jill ambushed them and really upset 2 of her guests. Jill is so self-absorbed, luann you need to stop taking her side, it just makes you look bad.

Sonja keeps saying she was the co-hostess of the Morracco trip, yet you don't acknowledge that. Is that true or not?

I have seen you make your digs at Ramona. I think it hurts her, so she gets nervous.

You are a true and loyal friend and if I coud be your friend I'd love it. You stand up for what's right and are very respectful when needed. This season you really showed how wonderful as a person you are and that's beautiful. Jill is lucky to have you there as a friend. You are a great example for young women to look up to and learn from. Thank you for staying true to yourself and not letting the show go to your head like I think some of the other ladies have.

You out did yourself!! What a wonderful trip. Sometimes you were a little Mama dominatrix. I mean my goodness, you are not Ramona's keeper and don't talk as if she needs one because I know at this moment you are thinking it. Each individual is unique.
You want to school her in every episode and you just come off pompous, overbearing, and unaware. You judge her constantly. I think you are wonderful but you can't control another adults actions you can only control your own. (you talk down to her) Jill and Ramona need a mediator when they talk and it can't be you, Kelly, or Cindy you are all bias. St Johns is over bu't Sonja proved to be a good friend to everyone she could possibly mediate or even Alex, she is very sensible.

LuAnn,

I think you handled yourself well during the trip of what I've seen so far...but I do think that at times you acted like you were some kind of hall monitor. However it was your trip you hosted, so I can understand if others seemed rude when you were trying to plan a trip for all of them.

I do agree with you though about people needing to blend into other countries instead of expecting special treatment if you're an American. That type of ignorance I can't stand. I applaud you for immersing yourself with the country and their culture. It's very respectful and says a lot about you.

Glad you were able to get back on the camel and that you're ok. I did laugh though when it was happening. It was rather comical but glad that didn't bring you down. By the way, try your best to not always be peace maker and stay out of the middle. Sometimes it's not always worth it. Sometimes people have to figure out these things themselves, even if you do have your best intentions.

LuAnn,
You planned a wonderful vacation, coodles to you. You are very classy, but you need to stop reprimanding others, not saying they don't need it, but after awhile people began to fill uncomfortable around you. If they don't know proper manners by now, guess what? THEY NEVER WILL:0
Also, stop getting in others business, if they bring it to you okay fine, maybe they just want a sounding board for that moment....not really wanting feedback, but you will in a minute repeat something someone has stated in a hot minute! Maybe they were joking or didn't mean any harm, now you mention or relay and BAM! One has she said, she said.....

Wishing you cont'd success & hope to see you next season....

Countess, you are such a wonderful lady and you are doing so much for everyone I actually get upset when one of the other women are nasty towards you - behind your back of course. I enjoy watching every scene your in because you bring class to it and you know how to be a real friend. Steal Mario - as if! HA!

LuAnn,

I want to say that you're definitely a role model for me. I admire the way you express yourself and how you treat others. This truly sets you apart from all other reality TV stars. While you're high class and extremely elegant you're soul is down-to-earth. God bless!

LuAnn,
You, Jill & Kelly are the best! I think it is funny that Ramona keeps on you about your loyalty with Jill. She does not understand that a TRUE friend will stand up for you. Maybe, Ramona does not have any "true" friends. Well keep on being you, a really great person.

I honestly dont think you want Jill and Ramona to be friends. Truth be told you kept Jill from apologizing to Bethenny and Jill seems to have selective amnesia. Jill damaged that friendship and no one owes her anything. Jill obviously throws temper tantrums at home and gets her way with Bobbi but that doesnt work in the real world and as her friend you should be honest with her and tell her to grow up and get over it.

Would you comment about the whole trip and Sonya stating that it was both of you hosting the trip, or she just in Sonya world and has no clue

LuAnn,

You are an incredibly stunning woman and a fabulous hostess! It's funny how Sonja was supposed to co-host with you but she has been so wrapped up in her own experience that I haven't seen her step up yet. That's fine though because you are doing an excellent job on your own. If I ever go to Morocco I want to go with you!! PS I thought it was hilarious when you said that Alex often misses the mark with things. So true!!

LuAnn, I have so enjoyed watching you unveil a little of Morroco for the housewives. You're a wonderful hostess, and I think a wonderful person. I'm so glad you survived the camel ride! I wonder what was wrong - did he have a burr in his saddle or what???

Anyway, these are beautiful episodes. Thank you for them!

Hello LUann,

I beleive that camel was very hungrey, and wanted some

I find you very refreshing and down to earth. You are such a delight!!

You've been a very gracious hostess for this trip, Luann. I'm enjoying your enthusiasm about Morocco!

You really need to step back on your support of Jill. She's a big girl and can handle herself- she doesn't need you to join the fray.

LuAnn,
I know there needs to be drama as drama = ratings but it makes me so sad to see all the effort that you and Sonja put into this trip...only to have most of the girls act so ungracious. I think out of everyone, Kelly has really been smelling the roses and trying to take it all in and it makes me happy to see the both of you try extra hard to separate yourselves from the drama and just enjoy a Moroccon adventure.
You are the classiest hostess on the planet and each one of these girls should just chill and appreciate you.

xoxo, Maria

LuAnn, you told Jill she shouldn't go to St. John, and you told her if she was going to, she should at least call first - Jill refused your advice. When Jill returned to New York, you told her that you understood why Ramona did not want Jill to stay on the island. Ramona apologized to Jill repeatedly for hurting her. Now Jill says it's Ramona's fault that she and Bethenny never made up? Have you apologized to Jill for completely blocking Bethenny's attempt to make up with her at Ramona's apartment that day? There seems to be a lot of re-writing of history going on now. Those of us who have been fans from the beginning (and have a memory) are quite confused by certain peoples' memory lapses. I think you should all sit in a room together and rewatch last season - maybe then you can all be a bit more honest now.

Ramona did not owe Jill an apology. However, she could have acknowlegded Jill's hurt feelings. You owe Jill an apology for stepping in and removing her from Ramona's home when she and Bethenny had a chance to sit down and hash it all out.

As acting hostess on this trip, you are doing very well. I do agree with Sandra Bernhard though. The camel knew who was on his back.

I didn't find any humor in seeing you holding on for dear life on that camel. I saw the fright in your eyes. You held strong like a true countess/warrior. I was so relieved to see you get off that thing safely.

God love you! You are one daring lady taking these ladies to Morocco. I've been there and know how that beautiful it is. For the most part I commend you for your patience and diplomacy amongst all the crazy personalities. And even though your holier-than-thou moments can be laughable at times, you are still trying and that counts for something... love your peanut-gallery comments. Entertaining!

LuAnn:

I like your blog when you stick to things that actually involve you! So happy you see Cindy clearly and not just side with her because she has brown hair!

Tracy

Countess, You are such a great lady and are so beautiful inside and out. You are a great influence on everyone around you. Your closeness with Jill came at a weak point in your life which you have overcome with admirable fortitude. She is really not on the level and I think you have a soft spot for her because she was there in your down days of your divorce. Her motives were not altruistic and she was trying to form teams out of a power grab and jealousy with Bethany and her success. I am not saying she doesn't want to be your friend of course she does as anybody would love being with you! You are dynamic and wonderful. Cindy and Jill create drama to keep their little team in tact due to their insecurities. You don't need that. You are enough countess for everybody, so don't get unduly swayed by your soft spot for Jill. Ramona has her idiosyncrasies but is a great lady with more points to be made than Jill. If you had been in a better place back then, you would have seen it for what it was more.

I hope the camel is ok; poor thing.

LuAnn, LuAnn, LuAnn----Wow!! Are you a true friend to Jill??? I think not--A friend tells their friends when they are wrong, right or indifferent. It really seems like you take Jill's side when clearly she is wrong.

LuAnn,

You are one classy lady.

Your too much> Last season you told Jill you understood where Ramona was coming from regarding the St. John trip and now you feel she owes her an apology when she already apologized last season at Jill"s ice skating party. How many times do you have to apologize for the same thing?
