For four years, you’ve watched me go through many changes in my life including the end of my marriage, my children growing up, and the start of my relationship with Jacques. Hopefully you’ve been entertained and have learned something from watching me navigate some of life’s greatest challenges. Every woman deserves to be loved by a terrific man, and I am so lucky and grateful that I met Jacques. In this episode, Jacques and I are celebrating one year of dating, but I was also celebrating my life, my happiness and my belief that wherever life takes us, if we believe in ourselves, everything will turn out better than we could have imagined.
I was completely surprised when Natalie Cole walked through the studio door! When she sang "Money Can’t Buy You Class" to me, I was blown away. When she said she would sing at my party, I was thrilled and then she offered to sing with me. Sometimes dreams do come true and my excitement was apparent.
I think Ramona’s desire to have another baby is being triggered by Avery getting nearer to leaving home for college. Children grow up and go out on their own and life changes for all of us. It’s how we deal with these changes that make us who we are.
I invited Alex and all the ladies to the party because they’ve watched me go through a lot of transition and I wanted them to celebrate my happiness with Jacques. Besides, I don’t like to exclude any of the girls from my parties regardless of where our relationship is at the moment.
Thank you so much for not just blindly supporting your friends when they are dead on wrong ie Cindys' behavior. I watched Orange County's Vicki just sit saying nothing when confronted about Tamara's downright lies and violent behavior. Congratulations for being truthful even if it opposes your friends opinion.
LuAnn you are amazingly gorgeous woman inside and out. Thanks for being such a good friend to Jill and Kelly. They have both been treated badly by the blondes by their so called men. I"m with you I can't help but like Sonja but she was sending out a good message to her daughter with some of her stunts. HOpefully it is all poor judgement due to some awful things going on in his life. She needs to dye her hair and come over to the Brunettes and leave Ramona and Alex. Your are an awesome Mother and it shows just by watching your children, so bravo for that. The blondes just try to jab you with insults so you will react and then they can't start commenting on your class. Congratulations are a wonderful season.
LuAnn, I respect you, and most of the time, admire you. However, your loyalty to Jill makes me question your judgment. You're constantly taking up for both Kelly and her when they are behaving in mean and petty ways. I understand that your felt hurt by the girls in Morocco, after planning such a great trip, and some of the other issues that came up. However, when you stand with people who are purposely hurtful and ugly, you are complicit in that same behavior. Congratulations on your new relationship!
LuAnn, I too was a single parent, after divorce I was certain I would'nt find anyone to love, then my now husband came into my life, and it was changed forever! You and I have had similar paths, so it was nice to see it play out for you this season. I adore you, even though sometimes I think you are a bit rough on some of the ladies. I know that you are enjoying the Hamptons this time of year, I took my mother and three sisters there last summer and they totally enjoyed it. I also wanted to say to you that you are doing an amazing job raising your children, and yes they are beautiful and smart and even though we didnt see a lot of them, I can tell they have the utmost respect and love for you! Bravo! I look forward to next season.
I loved when you sang with Natalie Cole. That was fun. Sonja and Ramona running around the boat with a prenancy test was funny. However I was embarrassed for all of you with the reunion.
You are a great mom with wonderful kids. I think you treat everyone with respect. And maybe some of the girls think you are condescending because they behave like children and you are the only adult?
Love u Countess de Lesseps, I have a question 4 u & need advise. I've been married for 25 yrs & my husband has 4 sisters & 1 brother. I was very close w/2 of his sisters until my father passed away back in 2009. I went to college w/1 of his sisters & we actually worked together. When my father passed, she did not go to the wake or funeral as she claimed she was sick w/the flu & since the youngest 2 sisters do EVERYTHING together, the other sister did not show up either. The day of the wake & funeral was also the 1 sister's days off. Another sister lives out of town & could not come, however she did send a card. The 4th sister did come & brought her parents ( my in-laws ) & also sent a card. The other 2 sisters did not come & did not send a card. Since I was sooo close to these other 2 sisters, I feel so hurt & to this day don't want to have anything to do w/them. We have talked & got into an argument. My ? is, should I forgive this & move on or still be upset ?
I admire the way you try to stay neutral and use pleasant language. I just wish that you would stop making judment calls about the other ladies personal lives .
All in all I enjoy watching you on the show. You and Jill are the antithesis of Ramona and Sonya.
LuAnne, You are absolutely gorgeous inside and out!! You could model anything!! Your tall, lean and beautiful..... You always try to take the high road and only defend yourself against Ramona and Alex. I adore you LuAnne, and if Bravo keeps anyone after the reunion show it should be you!!
LuAnn, you did great at the finale Part 1!! You were cool and collected. You spoke directly to the people you had a difference of opinion with and to Andy without interrupting others. I would say that is classy!! Some of the ladies are definitely jealous of you. It seems Sonja use to be your friend and now has opted for Ramona. What's up with that??? It is good to see you happy and healthy!!
I find you a joy.
If you really do read these comments (some of them I wish you wouldn't ;-> ), I want you to know that you have many that appreciate you and how you convey your thoughts and feelings.
You make me laugh, you remind me to stand tall (literally! I slouch too much. I'm 5'10 and at my new age of 45 I need to make sure all my inches count.) and you make me happy. The joy in your life radiates through the screen.
Thank you for being YOU!
(I will never look at Herman Munster the same way again ;-> )
LuAnn, Your daughter must be so proud of you...and you of her. You're both so lovely and a fine example of a parent/child relationship. I was marginally a Ramona fan until I watched that exchange between the two of you where she commented on you and your ex as well as something about your daughter changing schools during the reunion discussion. That woman lost a tremendous fan base with those comments! Albeit remotely, her behavior this time targeted a child...your child. To whomever is reading this...please write to Ramona and let her know no matter how entertaining we may find her..approaching any subject on television (!) that could hurt LuAnn's children is as loathesome and vile as it gets. On the other hand LuAnn, you have consistently throughout the housewives series shown a unique poise and grace that I believe was intended for showcase. Fortunately, for ratings, the other women chose a different path of behavior. Please dont change. We need the contrast. Without the sweetness and elegance of you the audience would not be entertained by the evil doings of the others:) P.S. Consider befriending Sonja. She is a favorite deservedly so..and it would simply be nice to see the two good women together.
You are a bit much to take at times, however I think the cast for next season should be you, Ramona, Sonja and Jill.
So im sure you dont read all the comments but if you do, please know that me and a lot of ppl have your back regarding Ramona's low blows. She has no right to even talk about you, your marriage or your kids. Obviously you know that there is a HUGE difference between the two of you. One has class and one doesnt. Congrats on the romance. you really look happy
Again, you were the most mature woman last night. You are a fabulous parent and don't listen to a word Ramona says. Consider the source.
OMG.. LOVE YA LUANN.. PLEZZZZZ STAY TRUE TO YOU.. AND JILL... YOU BOTH ARE THE MOST CLASSIEST GALS ON THE SHOW.. AND CLASS GOES ALONG WAY .. BUT.. MAY I MAKE A SUGGETION ?? LOSSIN UP A BIT.. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU BE YOURSELF AND STOP WITH THE COUNTEST JUST FOR A DAY.. YOU HAVE REAL TALLENT.. LOVE TO SEE MORE OF THAT.. AND I WOULD LV IT MORE IF YOU WOULD STAND UP FOR JILL ..I KNOW YOU HAVE THE MOUTH FOR IT.. WE LOVE JILL IN CANADA AND YOU AS WELL.. JUST NEED TO OPEN YOUR MOUTH A BIT.. CLASS IS ONLY GOOD WHEN NEEDED.. PICKING UP FOR A BFF IS ALWAYS CLASSY AND NEVER GOES OUT OF STYLE :) AND MAY I SAY ..YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL ..HOPE TO HEAR MORE SONGS FROM YOU..LV HEARING THEM.. I AM ALSO A SINGER AND RECORD MY OWN MUSIC..TAKE CARE .. YOU AND JILL ROCK :) LV FROM CAPE BRETON NOVA SCOTIA / CANADA
What I like about you is that you are honest, you never let an argument get the best of you and always handle yourself with grace & dignity. Your children are charming and well mannered and you have a sweet loving man at your side. You are very lucky woman! All the best~
LuAnn, I love you! I thought you maintained your class no matter what Ramona said about you being condescending. That isn't the case! I noticed how you maintained your composure no matter who you were dealing with. If Ramona or Alex confronted you, you would say what you had to say, and you didn't have to resort to name calling, yelling or being a bitch, you did it with confidence and class. Ramona, and Alex on the other hand, always got out of line whenever they had to deal with someone talking to them about their behavior. They really don't know how to deal with that other than resorting to hitting below the belt and talking over people so they don't have to hear what they have to say. I was very upset when Ramona brought up your marriage and your daughters school at the reunion show. I doubt I could have maintained like you did, I think I would have wanted to deck her! You are a great role model for ladies so we can see how to deal with situations with class. You're right, money can't buy you class! If it could then Ramona and Alex would have some! They don't. I'll tell you the same thing I wrote in Jill's blog, I wish I could sit down with you and Jill and have lunch some day. I know it's a fantasy, but I've watched you so much on TV that I feel like I know you and that you would be easy to talk to and a good friend. I wish you the best, with your kids, with Jacques, and with the next season. Don't let the bitches get you down! YOu are a real lady. I loved the Natalie Cole episode, and as usual, Ramona had to do something to try to grab the spotlight, Sonja too, they always want the camera on them. I"d rather watch you and Jill. You're the best!
Luann, Throughout all 4 season there were moments where i found you to be a bit snutty with the "class" talk. This time, I love you! I find you to be so classy. You speak your mind, and you know your price. I love women like you who understand their worth. I wish more women today knew theirs. You are an inspiration. thank you
Congrats on your phenomenal party with Natalie Cole. What a lovely gesture on your part to through a beautiful party. I hope you and Jacques enjoy many happy years together.
I couldn't finish watching the finale though, it was just too embarrassing to watch grown women carry on. The 3 blonds (Sonya, Ramona and Alex) give women a bad name, they way they carry on, but when ALL of you were talking at once (no matter how strong of a personality you each have), it was not only inaudible, it was an embarrassment to women every where. All of the continual back-biting, back-stabbing and bickering may be what the producers call "GOOD TV" but it just paints women in a very bad light and supports the theory that ALL women are petty, cat-fighting, bee-attaches. How very sad to end the season on such a sour note. I hope that next season isn't a rerun of this season. I know I will not continue to watch if this is the type of role models you all are setting for our young women coming up.
LuAnn I think you are a trouble maker, you should watch yourself on your on show to see what I mean. Maybe you should take some of your own advice.
I'm a fan... Life is about Change. Our lives expand and contract like the Universe~ Your Stewardship for friends, family and the basics is World "CLASS"...
You actually handle conduct quite well. I appreciated your impartiality during the reunion. Keep it up. No sense ruining your etiquette brand over these broads. I must say though, Jill Zarin is a bad look for you.
Lu Ann Please pardon me for saying when the count left you HE DID YOU A FAVOR! You have become such a good person , You can actually see it in your face how alive you are now , I could not stand Countess Luann I so Love who you are now The real you is wonderful!
Luann you told Sonja she didn't need to explain anything to anyone. Please remind Jill of that and don't talk about her (Sonja's) behind her back!
I am watching you on the reunion and have to say that you are not conducting yourself with "class." I liked you best during the first season and less and less since then. Classy people don't have to announce it all the time and the things you have said to Ramona and Alex are despicable.
Watched the L.O.V.E. show for a second time. Looks like it was a spectacular party. Course, that bass player with the band was pretty spectacular too. Best wishes to you and Jacques.
I cannot understand your attitude towards others. You have a way with words that is not classy to say the least. What gives you the right to give your two cents when no one asked you anything? I hope you will finish this season and find something else to do. The world has way to many haters on t.v. and you are one of them. It's a shame how you started out so beautiful and loving and have turned yourself into nothing but a huge drag who apparently has so much free time that you set and think of problems to bring others down. I hope you reach the HAPPY spot in your life again. Good luck darling.
Luann, tonight you looked beautiful and seemed genuinely happy - congratulations. You should keep your happiness in mind and be a little kinder and less haughty. You have a lot to be thankful for in your life!
Hi Luanne, Not only did Jacques get a treat when you performed with Natalie but us viewers did too. That was great and you looked like you had so much fun. Congratulations to you and Jacques. Wish you both well.
Luv ya, Luann! You are awesome, and a fierce friend! I would love to have you for a friend...Jill and Kelly are lucky. Sonya, Alex and Ramona ... their loss! Toss em, you don't need a one of them. Love your bf, he's so FUNNY! Makes me smile to see you two together. Have a great summer!
I loved the vibe of your party, you were glowing while singing with Natalie Cole, & having the time of your life. Thank you for ignoring Jill's pettyness & keeping your party classy. You flow through life with a lot of elegance & ease, yet I know that love in life can be so painful. I'm so happy for you & J, I think your life with him, & having your beautiful children around you is definitely something to celebrate!
Countess, I LOVED that you had Noel escort Ms. Cole down the stairs into the party! What a gentleman, what a respectful thing to provide to Ms. Cole as she descended the stairs, and what a great way to include Noel in your special moment! Truly a spectacular time!
While sometimes I agree that you take manners and etiquette a little bit too seriously - I must say that I still Love you!! And all said and done - I respect and appreciate the way you carry yourself! You handle yourself the best of all the women on this show!
Dear LuAnn, I so love your style. I would buy anything that you would design. I especially loved the elegant caftans you and the ladies wore in Morrocco. My suggestion would be for you to design a complete line of them based on your travels around the globe. I would love to host a party in one of them or buy some for gifts for others. Morrocco and France could be the possible first inspirations for your designs. I think you are an artist and the sky is the limit. Everything you do is so wonderful. I view you as the new Martha Stewart...but even better and more chic. A woman with style and talents that is teaching the world about the finer things in life. Best wishes for your sucess. D
Congrats on your one year anniversary. You did a great job singing with Natalie Cole. I wish you the best.
Luann you was nice tonight. Whats with Jill wanting you to jump Ramona. Isnt Jill Happy??? You are usally mean and you wasnt tonight.
Liking you more & more! Perhaps it's the "love" situation. You seem very happy & i wish the other ladies would follow your lead.
I agree with some of the other comments posted here that last night you were much more pleasant to watch! I think you should stay away from Jill (and maybe Cindy & Kelly!) They seem to bring out the worst in you!
Applause to you, both for how great you sounded with Natalie, as well as for rising above the drama all season when you could have easily jumped into the fray. You are a classy broad ;) You & Jill are my favorites and I wish the other ladies (blondes) would take some lessons from you two on how to behave. It would be a much nicer show to watch if everyone acted like the sophisticated adults they think they are, rather than the juenille brats they REALLY are (speaking of Ramona & Alex). Congrats to you & Jaques and I wish you many years of happiness together. He's a keeper!
