The Trifecta

LuAnn discusses her music video shoot and her parenting techniques.

I had so much fun making the video for my new dance single ”Chic C’est La Vie”! I wanted this video to be different from "Money Can’t Buy You Class," even though the message of "Chic" is similar, that “beauty, class and elegance lie within the soul.” The beat goes on, regardless of what the other girls think about my music, my parenting, and my life! If the other women think that living your dreams and appreciating the beauty within us is an inappropriate message to share with their daughters, c’est la vie!

Atlantic City is close to New York and the Borgata Hotel is beautiful and the staff was very accommodating. I wanted to have fun promoting my new single "Chic C’est La Vie" with a music video and it required a luxurious setting that captured the song’s message. It was a chance to get together with the other girls, in a beautiful location, to have a good time.

Alex’s claim that she doesn’t like "Chic’s" message and that she feels that “class” is a dirty word, is confusing to me. Her mother would disown her? Has her mother watched her behavior on previous episodes of The Real Housewives? I’m glad that Alex declined. The video turned out just the way I wanted.

Another trip away from her daughter, it was a mid-week shoot. . .whatever. I don’t know what the truth is, but I have a feeling Ramona’s decision not to participate effected Sonja’s decision. She missed out.

A music video is about fantasy, not reality. Ramona’s criticism of my parenting is unfounded and she has no idea of the close relationship I have with my daughter. What message is she trying to give her daughter? What about “Turtle Time” and endless Pinot Grigio? Ramona has a trifecta and so do we. Victoria, Noel and I are very tight knit. I left the restaurant when she brought up my marriage because I’m not going to discuss this with Ramona. It’s none of her, or anyone else’s, business.

Jill brought a lot of positive energy to the video shoot and I was really happy she could be a part of this experience. Jill, being Jill, had many great suggestions that she shared with the director and my stylist, Jersey Murray, but it’s part of who she is and why we are friends. Jill cares enough to get involved and give her opinions.

The video turned out just the way I wanted it to and was really happy that Jill and Kelly were a part of it. I loved the girl’s enthusiasm. Making music is hard work, but all the best things in life require effort. I wanted only the girls who wanted to be there, to be there. After watching Ramona, Sonja, and Alex’s dance lesson, maybe it was a blessing that they declined! The girls spent more time talking about my music video than dancing.

Chic C’est La Vie my friends! Keep well until next week, when you’ll see me get my groove on with a true music icon. Check out my new music video and iPhone app available on iTunes on my web page C’est bonn, c’est bonn!
