Cindy is so funny with her teeth. She looked fabulous and you couldn't notice at all that her veneers fell off! Next time we won't have martinis. It leads to pistachios doing Cindy in and me blabbing about Ramona in her ear. Seriously though, to get me downtown, in the middle of the week, she invited me to my favorite restaurant, Cipriani's, and I just wanted to have lunch, get to know her, and have fun. We could have eaten anywhere at that point! I was starving and didn't understand the shopping thing! When are we finally eating? LOL. Oh well it was nice to meet Vivienne Tam.
Wow! Cindy really doesn't think I can break the ice between Ramona and Kelly. We shall see! This is what I like to do -- put people together. I'm the fun-loving peacemaker! I am confident I can do this and will have Ramona call before to ask Kelly if she minds her dropping in.
I have lots of friends who live in Quogue, and Cindy is trying to guilt me into going to her get together. But it's three hours to Southampton and then an hour back to Quogue and another hour back. In fact if I do go to a friends in Quoque, I stay overnight there.
Hamptonites take the Long Island Expressway, I mean the DISTRESSWAY to finally get to relax at home with our families, loved ones, play with the pups, garden, sun by the pool, read in the hammock, go to the beach, ride horses, pick up fresh veggies and fruits at the farm stands. We do this for a day and a half, or two days since this was a long weekend, and then drive the three hrs back to NYC to the rat race again.
You, know what I find funny, is how the housewives fight over who has what, who does what. All about their money and fame. I wouldn't trade places with any of you. In fact, I feel kinda sorry for you. I am middle class, love my husband of 37 yrs and my 2 very successful children. I don't need to prove anything to anyone. I love my life...
And... I like you again:O)
Great blog. You're back to the level headed blonde I loved from last season.
Looks like you will be having to do a lot of sand angels this season with Cindy stirring up pots left and right. What's up with her? I don't think you are a snob. I have relatives who think I can travel by car seven hours to see them all the time. Sorry, not happening! Especially during this economy.
Who is Kelly this season? Everyone's mom? Anyone watching could see you were just trying to have fun on the horse. She was freaking out on you again!
Quogue is 20 minutes from Southampton...... There is always weekend traffic but it never takes an hour. Do you complain about the time it takes to get to East Hampton on the weekends, or to Bobby Van's??? Or is it just Quogue???
Hey PFinFl - Horses are not toys! They are 1000+ pound animals with minds of their own that can hurt or kill you. Not to mention that horse was probably worth over 100k. You don't just "have fun" on a horse and pretend you know what you're doing when you clearly don't. It's dangerous.
Sonja...omgosh...last night was very ...interesting! You seemed to be set up no matter what you were taped doing! The horseback riding situation was something where someone who hasnt ridden for many years should not be given a horse ridden only by professional riders...everyone knows that ..and it makes the horse jittery and nervous...no wonder you fell! I cant even imagine why the trainer/helper from the ranch didnt step in! Did anyone else think the invitation to lunch...and then to be shown someone's teeth in microscopic detail...was ODD!? Who does that? The party at the other ranch was also odd and Cindy just isnt getting it! You dont come across as a snob at all...it just seems that your attempts to be fun and funny are being met with a stone wall! Hang in there...you are a delight to watch!
sonja, you have this sunny presence about you very warm and friendly... but you dont like to put yourself out unless you feel like it which is fine that doesnt make you a bad person... the alex and simon thing i have to take alex side it was a day for speaking for impowerment it wasnt a day for just sonja so that was the start of seeing how your kinda of about yourself.. but i still like you more then cindy luann kelly and jill.. as i said you have a warmness to you ... and your so right on about cindy stirring up things.....u did act a little tantrumish about cindy tooth but she should have called you when she did it.. so i see both sides... cindy seems not real like everything she says does is thought out... you are def real and yourself you free flow ... but this whole cast with the exception of alex lacks some serious self awarness....
Sonja, I really liked you last season because you seemed to be the calming voice of reason. But this round you're definitely different. Whether that's your true personality or careful editing, I don't know. But I wish you would go back to being the laid-back version of yourself. Some of your antics this season are a real turnoff.
Wow! I just can't believe that you all think that Kelly is crazy the one. I thought it was very nice of Cindy to warn Kelly about your Ramona ambush. It is not fair to Kelly or you to put her and her children in an awkawrd position. It is not nice at all. You are not the wounded party here. While you may have had good intentions, everyone is not meant to be friends. Kelly has no problem being cordial and polite with Ramona. What is the issue? As for the horseback riding, I thought it was very ugle for you to call Kelly brainless, when she was only looking out for your safety. Apology needed!!! You are honestly not as nice as you seem to think you are, and you are not the voice of reason that you claim to be. You will soon realize that everyone on these Houswives shows has an up and down season, and this my dear is your down season...
Sonja, you are such a delightful person and watching you deal with everyones emotional baggage has been very instructive.....keep on doing what you do so well!
I think you are one of the most "real" girls on this show. It must be hard to keep it sane, but I enjoy watching you try. Seems like everyone wants to pick someone else's "wound" just to see how they'll react. Very immature, to say the least.
I too wondered why she would bring up brunch in front of Ramona ... she clearly has it out for her !! & lol ... I thought it was'nt a Bday too !!! they want Ramona to loose it and call her crazy !!
It is one thing to love being a peace maker but I think you are totally missing the potential for unnecessary drama. If Kelly's kids were not going to be there then that is one thing. But we all know that Ramona doesn't control her mouth well and she is not going to guard what she says in front of Kelly's kids. And really, Kelly is a grown woman. If she doesn't want to speak to Ramona for whatever reason then that is her choice.
It was rude for Cindy to invite you to lunch and then change plans without being honest about it. At least if you had known you could have eaten something or made other plans. You trusted her with your plans. I hope you learned the lesson. She pretends to be above all drama but then dives right into the gossip. I don't think you are a snob I think you are a lot like Ramona in certain ways, thats probably why you get along with her and understand her. You are an emotional person who sometimes speaks without thinking..thats not a bad thing..in fact it can be refreshing..but others don't always understand and will be offended. Don't change who you are to please these women!!
I love how you, for the most part, have nothing bad to say about someone, unless they actually do something to you! That's a great quality and maybe you can teach the countess that!
Wow, you seem to really be after Cindy. Hope you gave her a chance later. She seems nice and she just wanted Kelly to not have children present if there might be a confrontation. Kids should not be present when two feuding parties get together, esp. when they are as irrational as Ramona and Kelly! They escalate each other! Cindy had a good heart and Kelly totally threw her under the bus!!
*LOL* I am thinking that maybe the ONLY people who really care about whether one owns a home at the beach may be your cast mates and their friends...I believe that 99% of us who watch really do not care if one rents or owns.
So..you worked hard all your life to do what? Nab a really wealthy husband who probably provided you with your townhouse, your Hampton's home (still cannot figure out if you OWN it by your own words) and your luxurious life. I loved you last year, but think you are a really good actress and quite the phony. After your total lack of understanding of Cindy and downing her in almost every paragraph of your blog, you then wished her well with Ramona. Come on. Try and be real Sonja and not fake Sonja. I really do want to like you again.
Last season I thought you were a refreshing addition to the show because you were level-headed, a peace-maker and had a real zest for life. I'm not sure what happened between last season and this season but this season you seem one dimensional, humorless and just another lonely housewife who needs to knock everybody down to compensate for a rather lonely existence. Anybody can throw a fundraiser or be the "ONLY" speaker at a rally for gay rights. you insisting on being the only speaker at that rally in additin to all of your other antics this season just make you another uninspiring "housewife" .
Sonja, I like the way you aren't minding other peoples business, and you don't let them push you around. Stand your ground. Be your fun loving self.
I was thinking the exact same thing Marcyme. I live an amazing life in Austin; have the best friends that I have had for over 20 years. I can go where I want, when I want and I and I can invite whoever I want to join me. These women amaze me. Everything is a competition to see who has the best party, the best guests, the best houses. Why do they have to fight so much? It is so exhausting. I will take my life over theirs in a second.
You are beautiful, classy and very funny! I hope you won't let Cindy get away with "stepping on your toes"!
When do we get to see the woman who just wants to laugh and have fun with her friends? It seems no one can get a word in when you are there; you constantly interrupt and judge. I really want to see your warm, fun loving self that you talk about in your interviews.
I really enjoy watching you! (Didn't like the way you treated Alex, but clearly that was just a bad decision. Please own that.) I'm a brunette, but have to say "Team Blondes" all the way! You are way more fun to watch the C, K, L & J. Cindy is blah. Stay fabulous!!!
You always find a way to make me laugh or smile watching the show. You don't need to explain your finances to anyone, esp not Cindy. You're right about the traffic, everyone in NYC knows it. It's not news. I think Cindy was just being really rude and finding something to dig at you with. Keep on keeping on Sonja, we love you!
You are funny and smart; and right why can't we have fun be friends and just get along. Not liking the vibe myself from Cindy
If it takes you an hour to go from Southampton to Quogue, encourge your driver to go the speed limit.
I know where you were coming from with the Kelly thing, but I have to say that she still seems completely out of touch with reality to me. There's no Bethenny to blame and she still projects an energy of negativity claims it's positivity! Good luck to you, I like you because you seem down to earth.
Hey What??? No kidding!! And if someone was yelling at me and causing panic to my horse with their badgering insanity...I guess I would have fallen off as well!!
Really enjoyed last season!! Thought you were open and friendly! This season seems to be revealing your self-centered side. It's not all about you, my dear! Don't let the fame go to your head because if you are not careful you could be the next villian instead of Jill!!!
You made the Kelly and Romano get together more about you. Not about them....that is where you went wrong. Your a tad self absorbed dear Sonja
So you have a cottage in the Hamptons. If the owners rented out YOUR cottage to their relatives. Who are the owners? Wouldn't that be you.
it was very clear that sonja had forgotten how to ride. the was not nervous, she was doing just about everything wrong. flopping all over the horse, not holding the reins properly and trying to yahoo it up. if that had been my horse she would have been off it in heart beat. she jus confused the horse and looked a fool.
You're pulling a Jill, circa season 3. You wrote the name Cindy about 25 times in this blog.
What changed? I found you to be a refreshing addition last season.
Sonja, do you realize how many times you've addressed Cindy in this blog? Looks a bit like overkill, dear.
I am finding it very frustrating watching you this season or any of you for a matter of fact (except Alex)!! I was not always an Alex fan but out of the blue she has come into herself. You on the other hand I liked you, but this season you seem to have gone off the deep end. You need to get down off your "High Horse" oh yea you fell off it. When I watch you I am finding myself calling you the Camile of your season, thinking you are better than everybody else. You better watch it or you may be the "most hated housewife". Please be the funny down to earth girl you were last season. I watched the reunion shows over again and it looks like the other girls have got you on their side now. You don't need to go to Kelly Land.
PS I would not have gone to lunch either.
Sonja, I just loved the riding outfit but next time, don't slouch forward. Instead sit up tall in the saddle and learn to post or let your pelvis absorb the forward/back motion as the horse trots. Keep hands down near (but not on) the withers and you'll have a much better ride. Invest in some good lessons to really enjoy riding horses. The horse gets confused and takes over if he doesn't feel you are a good leader. My respect for Kelly increased dramatically after learning that she is an accomplished horsewoman! So am I and I truly appreciate that it takes some perseverance and courage to ride beautifully, which as far as I could see, she did.
I do so enjoy your spunk but learn to listen with an open heart. Avoid getting so defensive! Just my view.
Sonja, Love you. Now, if I broke a tooth, I would have called that morning to apoligize and re-scheduled our day. It appears Cindy is all about Cindy and once she was done what she wanted to do, that was it; your dismissed! Also, if you are invited to a party and say you can't attend, isn't that okay? I don't get where there is an issue with that. Finally, Cindy is a back stabber. She betrayed your trust and Ramona's as well. I now see where she becomes besties with Jill; they are two of a kind.
Miss S, you are right about kelly. I like you, so far. i do not get to watch that much. But you do not act as if you have a pole stuck. Good luck
Sonja . . . I truly do enjoy watching you on RHNYC . . . you always make me chuckle, or at least smile. I Love your attitude towards life, which seems to be pretty laid back. You're a great addition to the cast this season . . . welcome!
I so agree with glossgirl, Sonja what happened? Last Season you were a breath of fresh air----rational, funny, honest, and really down to earth. This Season, so far, you are phony and self-absorbed. I really couldn't understand throwing Alex out of your house. YOU STARTED IT!!!!! As soon as Alex came through the door you cornered her to talk about what happened at the march, then you wouldn't let her get a word in edge-wise. Trust me I am not a fan of Alex but Sonja that was unbelievable.
I agree that Cindy should have called and given Sonja the opportunity to cancel or reschedule. However, the way these ladies tend to act regarding these matters cancelling something on such short notice - unless your dead - is probably considered some huge social offense that would've caused drama for days! LOL! Look what happened when Kelly told Ramona she couldn't attend her event... a week in advance! Besides, what is there to bitch about? She got to go shopping and meet Vivienne Tam, and spend some time with each other. It's too bad about lunch, but how about a little compassion, or at least a sense of humor about it. I get the feeling if the "veneer was on the other tooth" there's no way Sonja would have been out in public, much less making sure her friend got to meet Vivienne Tam while she was walking around toothless and possibly in pain!
