Going South

Sonja covers her breakfast with Cindy and LuAnn's ill-fated lunch with Ramona.

By Sonja Morgan

Fun episode with Lu Lu's video. Turned out I couldn't go. Anyone who knows me knows I'm geographically challenged. I don't like going to Tribeca, Govenors Island, Quogue, and now Atlantic City, when I can just be ensconced in my home with family and the menagerie of pets! I really am married to my house!

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New York City on Peacock and catch up on the Bravo app

My daughter didn't want me to leave her overnight during the week. Or even a whole day away. I am with her everyday after school and it's precious to us to have that time. The after-school snack when we perfect our toaster oven recipes for our book, homework, and then the time we relax together until bath/dinnertime/bedtime is priceless. I want her to know I am there, though not perfect. They grow up so fast, and I hear eleven is crazy! There will be a time she won't want me around so much?

I also have so much going on in my life right now with my divorce, and movie deal that went south, on top of managing my household, that my time is strapped.

I can see Alex and Ramona are not dying to support LuAnn and her video. Let's face it we are all so busy with our families, business, charities, and we just can't attend everything we are invited to. One really has to streamline it down to have anytime left over for themselves in fact. Me time is so important!

I was glad Jill and Kelly were going. That should make a good video! Very glamorous at minimum. How funny was it when the director couldn't say anything but great? Come on! Wrap your arms around this project.

I love working out at the Equinox. I do the spin, yoga, and mini trampoline classes and it's within waling distance, of course. Ramona can be hard core so I play it up a bit so she doesn't push me too hard! I have her number after all these years. LOL! I thought Alex's hair and makeup was the best ever by the fire pit with the family and her friends. Just stellar. She does have a point about class being something better not spoken about in certain situations. Grace under fire in this group should suffice!

Ramona's lunch with LuAnn is a disaster. As far as being a parent, my view is no one is perfect, and what is important is that your children know you are there for them when they need you. Why is LuAnn so upset Ramona doesn't want to do the video? I would respect Avery's point of view. Furthermore, there is nothing wrong with Turtle Time on vacation! Oh no, then she brings up the fortuneteller again. Boy oh boy, these girls really can give it to each other.

Jill was the perfect choice for our visit to Dr. Eric Braverman's PATH Medical suites. Xudoung Fu must have found Jill and I to be fine specimens for the Brain Electrical activity mapping. This is to test the balance of ones neurotransmitters. This controls cravings and feeling of satiety. Turns out my brain is too fast and wears me out! I'm also learning that weight has a lot to do with sleep. Sleep is everything! Getting to bed early and getting eight good hours takes the weight off your mid section. Many of us. Moms take advantage of the hours when the rest of the family is sleeping to pay bills online, clean house, return emails. Not good! Hormones are important too. No wonder they used to drown us in the old days, and say we were witches! We keep living longer and longer and are not equipped to do that without help from supplements for brain health. The brain controls appetite and mood. Dr. Eric Braverman's nutritionist extraordinaire Christina Santini gave me vitamins and food tips. Wow! You saw the difference no? When I met with the plumber from Liquidtech? And with the Feng Sui expert Judith Wendell? So healthy! And my waistline is back! I am so grateful to Dr. Braverman for helping me get on track. I love his facilities and to be able to treat Jill. They have everything you need under one roof. "I don't want to be raisin like". Check out his website they have free quizzes to see what nutrients your brain is missing and needs.

Back to Jill, I like that she can joke about guilt and drama with me and we move on. I think we have an understanding that we want the best for each other though neither of us are perfect.

Wow! That breakfast for Cindy so we could get to know each other also went -- South! Just like when I went South to Tribeca, 35 minutes away to meet with Cindy to get to know her, when she knew she couldn't even have lunch with me when I left. She came to my home for homemade breakfast tailored to what I thought she would enjoy when she knew she couldn't have breakfast. I canceled my business meetings with the usual gaggle of lawyers and advisers, had three interns waiting to work with me upstairs on my social media and appearances, rescheduled my complimentary Burlesque dance class with Jo Boobs Weldon to be able to have breakfast at 11:30 when it worked for Cindy and still be available to my daughter after school. I don't think Cindy really wants a friend. She has shown no interest in getting to know me. I think she has labeled me, put me in neat box, and that's where she wants to keep me. Everyone's time is important, however they choose to spend it, and one should respect that when given the priceless gift of time.

Mario and Ramona were nice to pick me up to get me to Brooklyn. You all know by now I am geographically challenged. That's my theme! I really like to stay within walking distance of my home. Always have.

Don't you just love my Foxy Brown hat at dance class? I have had it for more than 15 years. I keep my clothes, shoes, and hats in mint condition. I consider good quality clothing an investment. Cesar Gaviria, my friend who helps style me appreciates my vintage closet! Oh, and the leopard coat is from Zara. I love that store. Don't you?

Maybe LuAnn after seeing us dance the Dougie is happy that we didn't make it to her video!?! LOL!

Kelly is smart she always drops in and then leaves early. Poor Jill is stuck for the whole video alone. I know she really wanted me there as she said for her own selfish reasons but I really have to pick and choose what I can do these heavy days. The girls know I am managing an awful lot. 10 years old is the best age and my little girl loves her time with me now. I find it so hard juggling everything at times and to still have me time as well! We can't be there for others if we don't take care of ourselves first. Thanks for watching and as you see my lovely friend Natalie Cole is on next Thursday. She is amazing to do this for LuAnn's special celebration with Jacques, for our viewers, and for RHONY. Love you Natalie, you look better than ever, and sing like a bird.
