Welcome back to New York City friends. After a “vacation” the women have returned to their natural habitat. Naturally, they packed plenty of baggage on the way back. Will Ramonja ever forgive Aviva? Is Sonja on a “downward spiral”? Are Jacques and LuAnn OK? Did Carole develop a crippling addiction to pink cigarettes? Let’s assess. . .
The Bronx’s Food Is Burning
Ramona decides to ease back into the real world by having a culinary fest with Sonja and LuAnn. She’s going to let the menfolk do the cooking, while she tries to cook up some information about what’s going on with Jacques -- just kidding, she’s taking a page from LuAnn’s book and saying nothing!
Instead the main topic of conversation is Aviva (and sadly not Sonja’s headband, which is really what I want to talk about). While LuAnn tries to defend Aviva by mentioning how hard it was for her to make it to St. Barths, Sonja is not having it. She’s not going to let Aviva go around insulting people or pretending she’s Ernest Rutherford. Ramona is still maintaining that St. Barths-Aviva was some sort of phantom human or dual-personality, and not the woman they’ve known prior. In the end, Ramona maintains she’s a buzzkill even when she’s not around, so outlook cloudy on this all blowing over.
Meanwhile, in a gay bar on the other side of town, Carole and Heather have decided to chase their troubles away with alcohol and gay men. This seems to work effectively. The gals drunkenly bond over Aviva’s loud voice and the fact that “Boom Boom” was a runaway bride! Yes as it turns out she was engaged to be married and bailed on a Jamaican wedding. Who would have thought that Aviva was once on the cusp of a rasta ceremony. Of course, weeks ago I wouldn’t have guessed that Snoop Dogg would have become Snoop Lion. I guess those Rastafarians always sneak up on you.
Ramona and Sonja were obnoxious as all get out and poor houseguests to boot. From wanting the master suite to making the house rules, Ramona, as usual, tried to take over everything. They've shown us what poor guests they are in the Miami scenes. Perhaps we should not be surprised that theyacted the same way here. And, they drank an excessive amount of alcohol from the house. Now, many would say, "Wait a minute, it's a vacation after all," and that is quite true, but they were invited guests at somebody's else's house. They weren't the renters and the rules change with the roles people play. I would not want to invite somebody as volatile and unpredictable as Ramona to be a guest of mine. It would be nervewracking to always be worried about that she will do next. It's rather like having a constantly misbehaving child along for the ride.
The St Barth's was fun to watch. Even with all the controversey. It was like a family all together. I do feel sorry for Aviva, Ramona and Sonja -- to get angry at each other when they so got along before this trip. My favorite after St Barth's trip is LuAnn whenever anyone talks about the arguing she turns her head and nods as if she is listening but she looks like she should have a "cartoon cloud" coming from her mind -- here we go again! This season is so much better. Love, love RHYONC
Really...ANOTHER episode of Aviva?! Enough already. May be time to change the channel until next year.
I just re-watched last week's installment of "Blame it on Ramonja." I was really bothered by the scapegoating going on. Why didn't Aviva feel that the other women should have put up banners and thrown a party? She repeatedly mentioned that Ramona and Sonja, primarily Ramona, should have done so. In one of Carole's interviews, during the dinner fracas, she made it sound like Ramonja were the ones talking about plane crashes, when it was Heather talking about the short runway, and Aviva going on ad nauseum about the flight.
I understand everyone experienced St. Barts differently.
- Avia blames Ramona
- Carole blames Sonja and Ramona
- Sonja blames Avia
- Ramona blames Avia and LuAnn
- Heather blames Avia, Ramona and Sonja
- LuAnn Blames no one because she's Switzerland
Reid didn't belong at "the house", for the same reason why Russ stayed at a hotel. If Carole was renting the place and her boyfriend didn't stay there then why would any other male? Carole tried to play it cool (as usual) and it blew up in her face. Once back in the city she tried to get Sonja to feel sorry for ruining her vacation.
News flash "good hostess" don't take a camera crew next time.
PepperCo All true, except I can understand why Russ wouldn't stay at the house. First, he may have needed to be hanging with his band most of the time, and he also may not have wanted the air time that being at the house would include. I think Reid was pretty unobtrusive, as in not worth being noticed. Mean, I know, but after last week's dinner comments, I think he's a waste of film.
I think Reid's comments at dinner were a reflexive action a husband takes when they think their wife has been treated badly. Mario has done the same for Ramona on at least two occassions. I think he deserves a pass on this one.
You make an excellent point there. If the hostess' boyfriend is not staying at the house, then that would be a good rule-of-thumb to follow in making plans as to where people will stay. Aviva should have followed that model and much might have been avoided. But then...nah, she was still mad about the other stuff. There was bound to be an argument or two, or three or...
PepperCo Wish this was on Carole's blog - it's spot on and the whole I'm cool Carole is getting old. She must have been on another "trip" as she continues to coddle Adiva, while blaming Ramonja for the trip going bad.
Ramonja all the way!!!! Aviva needs to get over herself...I feel like am developing avivaphobia. Yikes!
Great blog! I am team Ramonja all the way.
Aviva not only acted atrociously in St. Barth's in what I believe to be an unprovoked attack on the ladies, but she has continued her self absorbed tirade post St. Barth's by going on and on about it and by not realising that she is the only one at fault. So disappointing.
I'm not a psychiatrist but Aviva has a lot going on in that pretty little head of hers. Ladies stay away from her if you know whats good for you. I'm not saying anything else or she may come after me. Please don't tell her my email address Bravo.
