Season 4
Season 3
Season 2
Season 1
The Party of Year Five
After a round of high-pitched "Hiiii's," like we haven't seen each other in years, we look around for the three 10s. Where are the three 10s with the matching linens and pretty china?
I always say it’s not a party until one woman chases another around the room. I think Heather and Ramona playing pinot tag is the best moment of the show. Sonja got an extra drink out of it. LuAnn got an unexpected hug. And against all odds, the building didn't burn down.
Did you see The Fall? What you didn't see right after Aviva joked about tripping on her one good leg was her whispering to me how much pain she was in. And it wasn't just the pain from listening to the band. Millsaps, Percocets all around STAT!
"I'm seeing all the lonely people
Sitting in a crowded empty room tonight
So in and out with all the people people
Doing it now. Do it now."
-- Cara Quici
What did she want us to do?
cwife1972I totally agree with you.
Carole is always so crItical of everyone. She should give people a break? She u just think way to much of hehrself.
cwife1972 Yes. She quietly observes and listens. She doesn't partake in the screaming and yelling in restaurants, at parties, business meetings - you name it. That happens to be what an author does. And kudos to Carol for being the only authentic hw on the show. You are a stupid cow and as jealous of CR as LuAnn is.
cwife1972
This is what journalists do; they observe.
cwife1972 It's her writing style (look up new journalism or creative nonfiction to get an idea) and it happens to be very revealing. She also happens to place herself in the scene quite nicely while exposing herself, i.e., her "Heathers" movie reference. Disconnect? She's the most connected. Have you watched the show? Have you even noticed how she connects all her blogs and can wittingly relate a reader's comment in to them, she's very quintessential in that way.
cwife1972 P.S. How can you not appreciate someone who makes a reference to the movie "Heathers" in her blog and then ends it with "Que, Sera, Sera."
Thank God for Carole!!! :-) I agree with "neeks", your intellect and wit is so refreshing and entertaining. I always look forward to reading your blogs.
After only one book you compare yourself to J.D.Salinger & Hemingway? Really?
Pinot tag? LOL... Ms. Carole, you are the best! You are definitely the fan favorite! Your humor is fantastic!
Melissa and Joe Gorga get the prize!! Too funny. Keep up with the amusing recaps. You are hilarious and REAL.
Carole, read your book many years ago and was moved by how you survived the most awful summer imaginable. Glad you are the Greek Chorus for RHONYC - having a good gossip and giggle at the expense of your more ridiculous cast mates. For the love of God, can you tell Ramona, The Countess and all other culprits, there is no such word as "I's." It makes me crazy!!!!!!
Carole, thankyou for bringing breezy intellect and wit to the real housewives of new york! cant wait for your next blog!!
Really enjoying watching you on the job :)
We get it, you're bright, articulate, and a good writer. Your condescending, disinterested, above it all attitude is less appealing. If one of my young children came home complaining that someone was one upping them, I'd have to have have a private giggle before I explained how ridiculous it is to waste the time noticing, let alone being irritated by that sort of thing. There are an abundance of intelligent, articulate women out there. Unfortunately what is harder to find is a smart woman who approaches more situations with love and compassion and less with judgement.
Carole...if you read this I just want you to know how much raw emotion I felt after reading your book...I was there with you and your brave Anthony...and it made me want to be a better friend hearing about Carolyn... your words and insights were gut-wrenchingly real and I want to thank you for your honesty...you really are a princess in my book!
Please stay immature... love you, just as you are!
Carole,
You are a class act, intelligent, perceptive, I could go on. Finally Bravo has brought a Real Housewife who isn't catty and takes in what goes on around her with amused detachment. You really are above the average housewife, which makes me wonder why you would participate in a show known for its immature and petty protagonists. No matter, I'm very happy you are in it and it's a breath of fresh air to watch and listen to you.
avalis
You keep calling her a housewife...is she secretly married?
These housewives shows tend to bring out the worst in people, and I hope these ladies don't bring you down too much. I thoroughly enjoy watching you interact with womon that in real life (with the exception of Aviva) you would never socialize with. You're intelligent, witty, hugely sucessessful in a competitve industry, a best selling author, and dating a HOT rock n' roller! Bravo should have more ladies like you on the show.
Hi Carole, I'm enjoying your participation on the Housewives. I was surprised that the ladies in London didn't get the analogy about giving birth to a baby or a book. It's not new to speak of it and I thought for sure they would all have known what you meant. Instead, some took that statement as an opportunity to discuss the comparison. I thought that was so odd.
Oneupmanship seems to be a rather common fault, quite noticeable this season. Ramona couldn't listen to anything Heather said without jumping in to describe her difficult delivery of her daughter some 18+years ago. But that wasn't the topic. The topic was Heather's smal child's serious medical condition. Ramona just rode roughshod over it. Now Luanne seems to suffer from the malady of oneupmanship. "My brother has twins." Good grief. Everyone knows someone who is a twin but we don't feel a need to drop that remark into conversations. I'm surprised that Luanne feels such a need to control or twist the conversation.
I like that Bravo added you Aviva, and Heather this season. I hope you'll each enjoy the show.
You are actually the only real person on this show. I love your take on LuAnn , keep putting her in her place, it's long overdue. Keep being who you are, I love it.
How refreshing to see someone so 'normal' on one of the housewives shows. I admit watching all that catty drama is my guilty pleasure, however you are truly entertaining to watch! I love the way you put the Count-less in her place.
Here is the youtube with the lyrics for "Do It Now" performed for Aviva by Cara Quici. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgg3Uz-tQJg
Bravo needs more women like Carole. She's interesting! She's the reason I will continue to watch the show.
You are the best thing to happen to this franchise. I had given up hope.I hope Bravo continues to bring women like you to the show, interesting, intelligent and so comfortable in your own skin Bravo Andy.
I have a question, every time someone wakes you up you are dressed, not in night clothes. Do you fall asleep in your street clothes? Thanks for going after Luann, she is so irritating! Can't stand her and Heather is getting on my nerves too. At least you and Aviva are nice, intelligent and bring some sanity to the show. Don't know how you put up with Luann.
lol!!!! definately melissa and joe gorga!! love your blog - it is very well written and so funny without being crude.... you're awesome....
Carole, what could the Countess possibly do better than you? You are bright, funny, witty, charming and I love watching you - and reading your words. I head to the kitchen when the Countess comes on, not being able to stand the passive-aggressive, holier-than-thou and utterly unappealing faux royal. You are a welcome addition to RHONY. Comparing your book to LuAnn's is like comparing a Virginia Woolf novel to a poorly written and edited romance novel. Never the twain ... I love your honesty. Keep it coming. Congrats on all of your successes, literary and otherwise.
ComtesseSophie Couldn't have said it better myself!
Carole you are reviving the show.
Carole, you are reviving the show.
I am going to read your book, all of your books! So, please finish the one you are working on, your fans await more of what you have to say. I love the way you handle others especially the old timers of the show. It is timeless and very tastefully done. I respect you for not standing at the gathering of the Yummie Tummies. Grit, you have true grit with humor! How good does it get on the Housewives of NYC.
Love, love, love Ossie Clark clothing. You wear it well.
I enjoy you completely. You're so real and true. Can't wait till the next episode! Thanks for being you.
You always seem so bored and uninterested in anything...unless it pertains to you. Never underestimate your ability to act just like the "wives" you love to criticize so coyly. In the end though, I do find that you and Heather are my favorites.
You are always so crItical of everyone. Why don't you give people a break? You just think way to much of yourself! Try some humility ! Not a fan at all!
I don't appreciate Carole's mean comments about LuAnn's appearance. I could say a few choice things about Carole's appearance but I'm not going to because I have class!
LOVED your blog! Love you on the show. You are such a breath of fresh air and bringing a funny and interesting side that has not been there since Bethenny left. I am sure you will do well. Seems like LuAnn should take a look back and think about the out come of two of her former cast mates. Bethenny Frankel - RICH and FAMOUS. Jill Zarin - who???
The Countess eats Peanut Butter and Jelly Carol. I am so glad you are yourself. A princess inside and outside. No need for the title. You are the best!!! Down the Lue with Luanne!!! She cant handle the truth...
You said, "I approached (filming the show) a little differently … for me, I always felt I was in a comedy. And I think some of the other women think they’re in a drama."
So true!
Carole,
What a great writer you are and you're SO smart! I love how you give Luann a run for her money. Everybody always comments about how "confident" she is, but to me a confident person doesn't need to one up people all the time or hang on their their "title" in desperation. You're the real deal in everyway. I'm glad you're on the show!
the last word i would use to describe carole is classy - she's anything but! she is constantly complaining about everyone and everything
Carole - I think you were petty this episode, and I lost some respect for you. You acted like a total mean girl.
I am so glad they brough you on the show! Someone who "out-ranks" The Countess, without being a snob yourself! You remind me of Cindy from last season, except your a wittier and more approachable!
Carole you're a cool chick.
Fabulous, intelligent, gypsy princess Carole! I am in love with you & your writing style! Ouu lala, finally a housewife who keeps it classy & real. Muah!
You are amaze balls
Carole,
I can't believe I signed up for a housewife blog, but I wanted to tell you I have both pushed literal babies out and am pushing a book out now...your anaology was spot on, so tell Luann and her self-righteousness to suck it. How do you write a book AND do a show?? Best,
Linda
Omg I love how Luann has to one up
Coco2012
Yeah, she attempted to explain away her actions on WWHL, but it didn't fly.

So, basically, you like to write in a witty way in your blog so that you do not have to truly expose yourself or your feelings. You are acting as an observer, all of the time, without ever entering the scene yourself. The problem is, we are watching you, and see your disconnect.
