The Olive Branch

Heather wonders about the reasoning behind Ramona's apology.

Jun 18, 2012

It was very nice that Ramona did finally put out an olive branch to me, showing some humanity over the recent loss of my Dad. I had been incensed by her reactions, especially when sharing vulnerabilities with her, (and maybe it's just all in her delivery). Let me tell you, that apology was a moment that surprised us all, and I was very appreciative about it. But after watching the show, was it only because she now knew I had invited some of the girls on a trip to London and she wanted to go?

I love London. It is such a great city, I have really enjoyed spending time there through the years, but as of late, it was always for work. So when Jon suggested I extend the trip and invite a few of the ladies with me for some fun I thought it sounded like a brilliant idea! And I was looking forward to a work/play trip that would be light because I would have a lot to balance and a fun get away from life's pressures. I was excited that Sonja and Carole were immediately on board! While I am learning more and more about Aviva and her fears, and I was thinking that, unless Reid came, her phobias wouldl hold her back. And after our visit to Jimmy's I don't know if a flat with bunch of women would be so comfortable for Reid. . .

So would you invite Ramona to London? Keep in mind that the main purpose of the trip was for my international sales meeting which was scheduled to take place there. (We distribute Yummie Tummie shapewear throughout Europe and Australia and I was going to London to present the new collections to all of our distributors.)

I am curious to see what you think. . .

As always, thanks again for the feedback, Tweets and posts! See what I am up to on my Facebook page, YummieLife.com, and HeatherThomson.net.

See you next week!
xx. Heather

I do think you should have invited her, just because you invited everyone on the cast except her, which isn't the same thing as not inviting her on a regular business trip or with your close friends. And as a viewer - yes you should have invited her! It would make for more interesting filming and those cutaway shots to the hw left at home on trips are always boring

I personally like you on the show. It is not written that "everyone" should be invited just because you are in the same circles or on the same show. Ramona was acting as if she was a child. Comments she made, a 10 year old would make because she was left out at a birthday party....Ramona grow up. You were civil and nice everytime you saw Ramona. However if you do not get along with someone, you should not be expected to invite them on a trip with you. It's about time Ramona realizes there are consequences to her words/actions. She says things and expects people to just accept it. It wasn't rude not inviting Ramona, it was HONEST! Inviting her would have been fake.

jennifer.vanelli completely agree with you jennifer! i dont think Heather should have invited anyone she didnt want to invite. it was her trip, and shes a grown woman.

I would not invite Ramona, I honestly do not think her apology was real.  I honestly think she did it to go to London.  Ramona is not a true friend, she gets jealous very easily... I don't know what the other viewers are watching but maybe I am missing something..  I would keep my distance from Ramona her intentions are not good or geniune..

You act like one of those mean girls from high school. You are very narcisstic, petty and make everything all about you. Ramona was coming from a good place when she said you talk too much. You do talk too much, your fellow housewives think the same thing but would rather talk about you behind your back instead of reaching out and helping a person grow. That was all Ramona was doing, she freely admits she  talks too much, she gave you that, but you couldn't, wouldn't acknowledge she just might be right. And she was, shut the heck up, breath and listen, you are not near as interesting as you think you are.  She is very blunt but she wasn't mean or trying to put you down. You chose to be juvenile about it and right then and there decide you would ride that 30 seconds of conversation and beat it like a dead horse. Ramona is funny, she works hard, she plays hard, she loves her family and friends and truly did not mean you any harm. But you had to make it more than it was. And you are so determined to be top dog and head cheerleader you found it necessary to hurt a co-worker by bulllying and belittling someone behind her back with the added glee of knowing she would find out about it and be hurt.even more. And your business...? It's not about making women feel better about themselves, its about sucking, tucking and strapping women down into uncomfortable GIRDLES all in the vain belief than a woman should be judged by the way she looked and self esteem and comfort be d@mnned! You are much more impressed without yourself than what I see you presenting on my TV screen. Grow up.

You are a welcome addition to a show that was losing appeal

I really like you on the show. You are very smart and beautiful woman! I don't think you talk too much at all, nor do you interrupt. You are very down to earth. I look forward to seeing more of you and your beautiful family!! xoxox

I think you were wrong to exclude Ramona. Personally I don't care for Ramona, but not inviting her was rude. I also find you so annoying with that fake smile and come on, who says holla. It does seem like all you want to do is promote your product.

Very mean, that you did not invite Ramona. She is a very popular cast member and you are new. Think about that.

I definitely WOULD NOT invite Ramona.  I personally would never choose to spend time with a person who acts like Ramona.  You have a great personality. Dont listen to the haters.

Seriously, stop with the fake smile.  You look like poor Kelly

Well, considering you are a group of women on a t.v. show, as a group -- i think If i were Ramona I too would feel a little peeved or taken back, not being invited. Nevertheless, aside from Ramona's constant mention of your "talking too much" I think what it really boils down to is she is somewhat threatened by your accomplishments in the business world. Competition maybe? You're younger, vibrant, and obviously doin' something right, eh?  There is no doubt you two women are success self-made women. I think this may be getting to Ramona, just a tad. Her facial expressions kind of give her away. Anyway, back to the London thing -- Nope, if you didn't feel like inviting her, than don't.

It was very childish and rude not to invite Ramona especially when you knew the cameras would be following you.... Its obvious that all you want to do is promote your business and maybe you didn't want the competition from Ramona.... you are new to the group why start with drama

You are my favorite!! I don't know what people are talking about, you don't talk over people...Ramona interrupted you at your office when you were talking about your son and started babbling that strange story that she thought her daughter was dead when she was born?!? How bizarre!  Seriously don't change, you and your husband are the most normal and down to earth couple on the show ;-)

It was quite rude of you NOT to invite Ramona - I mean do you really need to ask that question? You invite ALL the ladies, except Ramona - come on. If you were as gracious as you say you are, you would have extended an invitation to her. And, Dear Lord, how old are you - who the hell says "holla" as an part of their introductory line AND in conversations. Sorry, Heather, so not feeling you at all.

Please don't invite Ramona to London.  She always needs to have her nose into everything. I find it pitiiful that she reprimands Sonja for going. Just who does she think she is?  She is rude, crude and socially unacceptable and you would be best to stay clear of her.

I have watched RHOYC from the beginning.  I was glad for the new housewives to join the cast, but so far I am extremely disappointed in the casting of you.  I have a hard time watching you because you never allow anyone to speak.  It drives me crazy when I am talking and someone tries to "one up" me.  That means if I am talking about something, then the exact same thing happened to you.  I know that if you just stop talking over people and actually listen for once, maybe you will learn something from others.  Ramona is trying, but you are not.  You have a fake smile and act like sugar sweet to her face, all the while talking about her behind her back.  Ramona is a straight shooter who doesn't say anything to anyone, that she wouldn't say to your face.  Take notes and be honest with people, you might stick around for another season.
