Season 4
Season 3
Season 2
Season 1
Pamela Morgan of Flirting With Flavors and I have been friends for over two decades, and I've used her catering many times. She is a very good friend of Ramona's and also a friend of Lu's so of course I was very happy to be invited by Ramona to join in on the festivities and to get my "flirt" on, have good wine, delicious food and enjoy good friends. BTW check out Pamela's cooking school.
What else does one want to do after a hard day at work when deciding to not stay home and rest, take a bubble bath and read a book? Chill with friends. . you all heard I'm not with an artist anymore. . .
I came a little late because when possible, I put my daughter to bed first, before I go out. We always have dinner together 6 pm with the babysitter, interns, family, or visitors staying with us from out of town, and the violin teacher or playdate when we have them!
Hence, the extra pounds folks! When I am busy with all our charities, Sonja In The City parties, and vacations it's impossible to get to the gym, and to cut back because I like to live life and be in the moment, so I partake. It's a high class problem and I choose YES rather than judge and stand on the sidelines. I like to bound with people and laugh. I'm not complaining just explaining.
Oh gawd. What's with the bubble in my hair from my headband? Both Millsaps and Tyler approved that. I better take more brain pills and use the rear view mirror. I tend to avoid it so I don't see my ever growing backside during the winter months! I like to try new fashion and to dress for the occasion. I adore characters like Hello Dolly and Cher, so what's wrong with a headband or the occasional wig?? Say LIZA!!!
Sonja, your friendship with Ramona is awesome! You and Ramona make the show.
Yay, Sonja! Thank you for calling Aviva out. She is such a liar, she couldn't even respond, she stuttered, when you called her out about badmouthing Harry! LOL! Avoid Aviva at all costs, she's got really bad vibes.
Sonja--I LOVE YOU! Bravo should give you and Ramona your own show. Aviva is a stuck up snob that needs to get off this show before she does more bullying. I never liked Jill, Kelly or Cindy--but wow, this Aviva chick makes them look good. I tolerate Lu but I watch RHONY because of SOMONJA! Good luck with your divorce settlement and I pray that you are treated rightfully in the end of it all. I love your zest for life and your funny mannerism--your ex might be loaded with money, but he lost the greatest asset in the world when he threw you away. Your daughter is lucky to have you as a mom. Stay the way you are and never change--you are a beautiful person in every aspect of the word.
Im so sorry you've hit rough times, as a viewer I had no idea you were in such straights. After the many many mentions of the visits to the vacation house in the south of France, private islands and yachts and investments into motion picture business with partner none other than John Travolta, I felt things were quite solid. Perhaps take Ramona's advice, and sell an organ for funds. It seems her strong business acumen has deduced that that is far easier than live on the 500k Bravo pays you. It's just an organ, not even a limb and you'll never miss a piece of liver. It will never hinder your self esteem. Afterall you will be anesthetized. That makes everything fine.
Sonja- from an outside perspective, the things that make you great are your warmth and your personality (plus you are beautiful on the outside). I am a single parent and you have to let go of your dreams- which is hard but in their place you have a new life- a different life but one where you are free to be yourself. Let go of the material things because your daughter will be happy as long as she has you. Kids love cozy places-so don't be afraid to downsize. With it comes freedom from worry about bills. i know- I spend years mourning the loss of my marriage- looking at the would-a-should-a - could-a's. The bottom line is it didn't work out but life goes on and you will feel better standing on your own two feet. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger. I've made it over these hurdles and so will you! You are like a thoroughbred and it shows.
Sonja, I think your awesome, stay strong and don't let the bullies bring you down.
I hope that you eventually get that there is a snobbish side to Sagittarius because opulence introduces variety, which we love, but we also have to recognize that our optimism can make us yield attributions to others that they don't possess. The other thing about us, is we love our friends which of course, includes our significant others. I just don't think that your husband really loved you as you are. I appreciate your love of finer things, but I think it has blinded you to the reality that you were nothing more than a negotiation. He loved you like he loved a pet and with our kind of optimism we have a tendency to dismiss those flags as long as our freedom isn't disrupted. I think you might have interpreted 'things' as love and what a shame because you are a real lover. Come on, Sister, let's give up the pretense and get on in touch with sexy Tom Sawyer persona!
I think you are very likeable. I have some unsolicited free advice, though. We both know what that may be worth, but I will speak my mind anyway.
You obviously thing Ramona is a great friend to you and that may be fine. However, if you constantly defend Ramona and link yourself to Ramona, don't be surprised if other people lump your behavior in with Ramona's. You can be great friend to each other without blurring your separate personalities.
Also, stop looking at the women who are better off than you and consider the ones who are so much worse off. Find the many things in your life, past and present, for which you are, or should be, very grateful.
Blessings and best wishes.
Sonja I love your heart. I love how you like to live in the moment and enjoy your self. I am sorry about your loss of a marriage and friendship. Thank you for sharing with the viewers your true self.
I would not fret over Aviva. She is a cruel, heartless person. I would hate to have her as a friend. I hope she doesn't yell at her son the way she yells at her friends.
You looked gorgeous on WWHL. You are a free spirit Sonja and that is what makes you so loveable and fun. Your daughter is lucky to have a mom who does her best to always keep a positive spin on many difficult situations. I hope you get the settlement you so rightrully deserve.
Sonja stay cool and away from Aviva and her durty nasty old Dad. I could not believe that aviva thought you should be with a Nasty old man like that. Keep going and stay positive life will get better. Aviva is a bully and she dosen't derserve a friend like you.
Sonja, I love you, your spirit, and fun eventhough you were going thru a hard time!!
Wish you the best!!
I feel bad for Aviva. Listen, look at her father. How can one not have issues growing up in a home with that wack job.
I've gone on girls' vacations and we always have fun so Ramona and Sonja have it right.
Besdies, Sonja needed a little down time. I would have love to be on that trip. Well........until Aviva got there.
I doubt she will be on next season. She adds no fun to the group and it so self absorbed.
She's got a wack job for a father and she's nuts but judges Sonja and Ramona just for having fun?
The trip was fun until her husband delievered her then things went south quickly.
be true to yourself! I love you and Ramona! you remind me of me and my best friend. it isn't a crime to be over 40 and have fun and get wild if you choose to do so. I don't understand how someone says you need to grow up. Sounds like a boring person that is judgemental to me. We as grown women deserve to act however we want to act, we earned the right and are worthy of a little fun especially when on a girls trip! ignore the bs people write and be true to yourself. You got it going on girl! continue to be happy and don't change your personality or try to conform into someone A Diva wants you to be. Personally I think she needs some serious help, don't get her at all, not one bit. but i guess she is the token nutbag for bravo this year.
Love you Sonja. You are the most fun!!! Keep your spirit up. Things will get better.
Thank you for putting Aviva in her place ugh she was just tiring. I admire the fact you can take it or leave it.. personaly I wouldn't have given her so many outs. Ignore these sexiest idiots who believe women should dry up and die after 30. But single men can drink take home women with no repercussions or judgement yet Carole Russ Aviva and particularly Reid played that card. They supported the sexiest party line of what "women should do" stated by Ried's caveman comments regarding womens age. I would nail Carole for that one she knows better..seriously ... I hope everything in your life looks up for ya soon ! :D
You have handled yourself so well this season. I am impressed!!!
Sonja, no advice here. I just want to say that this season you have been more beautiful than ever. Really. Just gorgeous. And you look so young and sexy. Keep up the good work baby girl. All us ladies here in Shreveport, Louisiana love you.
Love you! You and Ramona need your own show! Aviva needs to get on some meds and get a grip! I'm hoping Bravo doesn't renew her contract!!
Sonja, I added my thoughts on how repulsive I found Aviva's behavior on Ramona's blog, but I just wanted to add my congratulations to your blog too as to how well you handled Aviva's vile behavior. If you and Ramona want to let loose, drink, get naked and have fun on a girl's trip, then you do it & enjoy it to the fullest !! Harmless fun! I salute you!! You and Ramona have a friendship to be cherished and seem to accept and support each other for who you are. I know you are trying not to dwell on the rough times you are going through, so I will only say this: I wish you and your daughter the very best of luck and happiness. Cheers to you!
You go girl! Have all of the fun you want to have, jeez I just can't believe how judgmental and self righteous Aviva was with you. I am glad you are secure enough in yourself to weed someone like her out of your life. If you had accepted her apology and tried to be friends I am sure something like this would have happened again. I'm sorry that you are struggling so much with your personal life but I can't wait to see you on the other side. Hang in there.
I know your pain with this whole divorce and ghost communication thing... it takes time to get over and you will, and when you do, you will be stronger for it. so sorry you are hurting, try not to take it out on those who really care for you. i wish you peace with all of this mess.
Stay close with Ramona. Everyone watching see's what A-Diva is trying to do. She is one evil witch!
I loved the way you handled youself that that bossy Avita. She has not taken the time to get to know you. Ramona has known you a long time she's someone you let your hair down with and have fun on these get a ways but she also cares about you. Luann was a supprise in the episode when you took the paintings down. It was nice to see that side to her. I usually don't like her much still don't but I did like the way she was there for you at that time. Cool. Hang in there. Things will all work out.
Sonja, you are amazing and your life will be also
Sonja, love your style. Don't change. Lets have some wine. And by all means, bring Ramona!
I am 100% team Sonja! You are an awesome person and I think it's terrible that people invest so much time into putting others down. You always have such a positive attitude despite all the things that you are going through. Keep showing them that their negativity isn't going to get in your way girl!
sonja, time to grow up and act your age. let go of the past. and do your self one huge favor, drop ramona like a hot potato. she is nothing but trouble. she can dish it out, but when confronted she runs!!
fell
I guess you haven't been watching the show huh? What a comment....clueless
fell Leave her alone!!! She and Ramona have been friends for years, they get each other. LIVE AND LET LIVE.
I would so love to party with you! You are for real and the best one of ALL housewives!
I think you have a great spirit and I'm glad that the only one calling themselves Barbie is Aviva...She needs help and I'm glad you stood up for yourself..Her attempts to break you and Ramona are so clear...because you guys have each others backs..She needs counseling..She made so many request about how people should throw parties for her and her husband..She continues to talk about the trip because she thinks it will get people on her side when clearly everyone is tired of it already...
Sonja, love you. No one's perfect....they shouldn't expect you to be. You drink, you laugh, you have fun. You are yourself. Aviva, on the other hand....who is she....Dr. Jeckyll? Hyde? Who knows... I am bothered by how judgmental she is. I am thrilled that you do not give into her spoiled girl antics.
Sonja,
I love you, you are the best and always make me laugh! you love Life and your friends and that is all that matters. I wish i could work/intern for you. i am a Jersey Girl so not to far away!
love to watch you. Much happiness! you deserve it.
sonja you look beautiful in pink please wear it more often
aviva is worst than kelly the way she is proud in her confessionals about the comments she made. i'm really disappointed at how mean she could be.
can you please post the transcript of the burlesque show? thanks!
When Sonja took off her coat and was wearing a "Rugby" shirt,my first thought was that she was ready to rumble with Aviva. Way to go, girl. You set her straight, and did so with class, without lowering yourself to her level.
That said-I think you all need to drop the "she's jealous" line.
As somebody who has visted the Caribbean for 25 years, I can say this. The whole point is to relax, unwind, and have "no problem mon". As a mature woman who is independent, you have NO reason to justify any action to the likes of Aviva. I don't know who she thinks she is. She has demonstrated such a degree of snobby behavior and seems to enjoy pointing out other's "alleged faults". Guess what, Aviva, nobody cares. If Aviva wants to correct bad behavior, she should start with her father. At least as a family member, she has somewhat (although not much) right to do so then.
You handled Aviva so beautifully at that dinner meeting. Finally someone put Aviva in her place. Bravo, Bravo!!!
I can not stand listening Aviva rant and rave about St Barts. I fast forward every time Aviva comes on the screen. She makes watching the show uncomfortable.
Regarding comments about Sonja's and Romana's alcohol intake: high on wine or sober, Sonja doesn't lose her wit & humor. I wonder if she wasn't acting a little more inebriated than she really was, just for the sport of it, just to have some fun and let go. If she was really drunk-drunk (I doubt it), then she was a very nice drunk and still aware of other people's feelings. Remember when Carole came into the room and said she was having problems -- Sonja's attention completely went to Carole. First and last I think Sonja's motive is to please us, the audience, and keep the story going. I think the same of Ramona. Not that they're being fake -- they just like to frolic and enjoy themselves (when not being attacked).
Sonja, you are my hero. I think you are very classy, drunk or not. You should have as much fun as you want. You can absolutely tell that even Mr. Reed walks on egg shells when he is around Aviva. Your daughter is lucky to have a mother like you who is as gracious and real as can be until someone insults them to the point of no return. How dare anyone go after someone's mothering? That to me is a very selfish person who always says "not me" while holding the bloody knife, "it's Sonja." LOL. Call me next time you go to St. Bart's and I will be happy to come without my husband. He would never mind because he trusts me! I can't go skinny dipping though since I am a teacher and could lose my job. That's ok though I'll still have a great time with you any way. Look me up when you are on Long Island next time, how "real" would that be? You still have more intelligence, style, and grace than the wanna be Aviva. Tell your daughter to be proud because this is coming from someone who is "real" to herself as well.
Sonja,
Good for you! Stand up for yourself and refuse to associate with narrow-minded women like Aviva. I admire your focus and your refusal to engage in self-pity, despite some of your most recent setbacks. Aviva would do well to take a page from your book in this respect. That said, I think you owe Heather, and the other professionals who worked with you on the toaster oven, a huge "thank you" for their (free) time and energy on your behalf. Your gratitude for what they did for you (again, for free) did not come through on the episode.
You rock Sonja! You are fabuluous!!!!
Awww....love you Sonja! I think you handled yourself with class with Aviva. She was clearly there only to berate you and then your good friend Ramona towards the end. I would have lost it, but did the right thing. Secondly, I adore your true friendship with Ramona, as you can tell it is real, and it is quite endearing to see. Aviva's anxieties and phobias are her OWN issues to resolve (I'm not being un-sympathetic (as, I have 2 neurological conditions). I deal with them on my own and none of my business associates or anyone else has to hear any crap from me, nor would I ever dream of calling other women names. She needs to own up to her problems and offer sincere apologies. Lastly, love, love your one liners - too damn funny!
Sonja watching you talk to Aviva was amazing if only because I know I would not be as cool or calm having to deal with her. You showed class and etiquette, something Aviva seems to be lacking. You have only gotten better, you have no need to resort to Aviva's tactics and instead you are poised and well mannered. Kudos to you and Ramona. Love you both.
u are my fav and i LOVED seeing you tell aviva off and not buy any of her bs she tried to sell to make herself look like the good guy. she treated you terribly and is OBSESSED with herself, and demands other people give her attention. glad you see you dont need a friend like that. specially one that says they 'care' about you one minute then dig at your personal issues the next.
be done with her! not worth your time.
Luv-luv-luv you Sonja! You and Ramona are the show!
Sonja you have such a good attitude and love of life. I really respect that. I am a single parent as well and know how difficult it can be period. I like your kinship with Ramona and enjoy watching you. All the best and a very happy future.

P.S. It's high time you update your blog. You owe that to the viewers of the show, even those who don't much care for you.
