The Real Housewives of New York City think Sonja Morgan is delusional about her many business endeavors.

I don't watch the housewives since we are no longer allowed to comment, but, I did catch this segment of the reunion channel surfing. I have to agree with the ladies that Sonja is a bit delusional,  desperate and the show has gone to her head,.  I don't think she can let go of the Lady Morgan persona she had created when se was married.  It's sad.  But she is not hurting anyone and is trying to do the best she can with what she's got.  Given all that, she and the equally nutty Ramona, are still more entertaining that the rest of the ladies.

Shame on you all you naysayers.  She sells toasters.

just read Sonja's blog ...she said she is very private about her life and business...I wouldn't call being on Bravo keeping your life private......I say either fess up about what you really do and answer the questions or go back to a private life

I don't care how Sonja makes her money. She's more entertaining then the rest of the women on this show.

Wasn't Sonja a waitress before she married money ? She is so delusional that it's sad. Especially if she thinks Aviva is normal. She never answers the questions. I still don't understand why she has interns .

When she first came on the show I thought Sonja had it together. Boy was I wrong. I still like her but agree that she needs to come back to the real world. Her life of unlimited riches is over. All she gets to keep is the Morgan name. Sonja is living in the past and is about to be taken down a notch. I wager she also gets some kind of spousal support from her ex.

Time to get Sonja off the show and get her some help.. Maybe Dr Phil  or another doctor who can help her realize that losing her fortune and making up images to keep up with the jones (Wives) is a losing battle. She needs to work on her self esteem and settle in and reconnect to reality.

Sonja may be a bit of a mess, but, as far as I can tell, she's not really hurting anyone except herself. If she's happy in her world, who are you to inerfere?

I love all these ladies (especially LuAnn and Carole).  Everyone has their own reality, so I am not calling Sonja delusional.  I do blame her for not supporting her friends at times, however.  I would like to know more about all the homeless people she is helping while not paying her interns for whatever work they are doing.

PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND THIS.......My head is still spinning from Sonja's explanation of how she earns an income. Andy asked her what business she finally got up and running because she mentioned so many during the season from Nigerian Football Team to a French Shirt Line LOL Andy then showed a video package of the many delusional statements Sonja has made throughout the season INCLUDING she could be a Broadway actress. Sonja's response has me even more confused. First, she was a model when she was 14 and she took the $$$ she earned and invested that $$$ in the stock market. Second, the $$$ she earned from the stock market she invested in real estate and reinvested in real estate etc. SOOOOOO now her job is managing her wealth she has 45 employees that she pays Harvard and Yale Lawyers, Trustees and Pickles. Sonja further explained that she doesn't have a visible business or product to sell like Heather or Ramona's wine but SHE is a business person SHE doesn't not film at her homes in France or Colorado so you do not see her working WTF Sonja said she is a life style expert I HAD TO REWIND 3 TIMES Andy asked her what qualifies her to be a LIFE STYLE EXPERT. Sonja says I rent my real estate out to others. I THOUGHT it COULDNT get ANY CRAZIER. Sonja then tells Kristen that she doesn't need her husband Josh's help in branding and marketing that she gets paid 10s of thousands of dollars for branding and marketing advice.

She always has been delusional about her finances, self importance, self image - everything.  Never understood why they brought her on other than as the sad little side kick big eyes.  They seem to get rid of anyone with an ounce of real in the reality show.

Sonja wrote this about herself. Sorry I didn't write that.

Lol. You are funny. She sells toaster ovens and all of her fabulous Royal friends love the meals she prepares for them.

She can be sweet and entertaining I am just done with watching and listening to who she knows, what she knows, how real money acts, who she has slept with who she thinks wants to sleep with her creating and defending fantasies she has made up. Most of the time when I finish watching a scene Sonja was in I saw WTF

Yes, Sonja was a hostess at a restaurant called San Pietro in NYC. It's a lovely place major players use to go there back in the day. That's were she initially meet her husband. She has interns because it's free labor SAD but true

@chris120  Last we heard Sonja does not receive any spousal support.  That is why she is having so much financial difficulties.

KMCoffey

Me too. I thought I misunderstood her at first. She mentors homeless people ?????? None of it makes sense Sonja is sad and a very bad liar. She makes up lies to make herself look like a compassionate person.

@KMCoffey lmao, I have to say... she's a riot at times tho... She repeats herself... she just juggles her words around. Except... for her toaster oven. She doesn't say anything about that one unless someone else brings it. Well, I haven't heard her if she does.

KMCoffey

I agree. She was a hostess at San Pietro Restaurant met a wealthy man and got married. I bartender through undergrad and graduate school. Those hostess worked their butts off. Why not just own it. They story she gave last night makes no sense at all. Sonja needs to do more than light a candle. Also am I crazy? Did Sonja say in the Reunion Part I THAT SHE MENTORS homeless CHILDREN?

Kristen was great. Also, Sonja was wrong once again. EBOOST is everywhere it's even on amazon. I had to laugh when Sonja said your husband works for P Diddy and P Diddy comes on my yacht. Her magical mystery yacht??????? Sonja, actually tried ACTING confused by not knowing what EBOOST was like she never heard of it before. Trying to make it insignificant like Josh is not good and branding and marketing Lol. I am not a fan of Josh. I do have to say every scene Kristen and Josh were in had EBOOST product placement. You would have to be blind not to see or hear about EBOOST through out the RHONYC season 6.

@jecaden @lauriels Which is a perfect place for contacts in NYC. Many highly educated young women compete for those jobs ( and I'm not saying Sonja is highly educated for those ready to pounce lol!)

@KMCoffey My sister has a major PR firm in NYC which hires intern trying to get into that field after graduation from top universities. Sonja's interns are in the hospitality business and if not for editing, I believe that portion of her life would be better represented. Party planning, wardrobe, site locations are just a part of what her interns are exposed to on a business level. Columbia, Princeton and Penn State don't give college credit without checking ( scrupulously) the validity of the business. Heather for sure has interns as does Carole. Vital part of ANY business anywhere. Sonja is in the hospitality field.

@janetkath @chris120 True that SM does not directly receive spousal support, her daughter does, as she should.  She had a career, skills, etc., before the marriage, she just needs to adjust her spending habits and budget like everyone else.  Lucky to have the Bravo paycheck.

I think Sonja's interns are the 'homeless' people she is referring to. (Not actual homeless people, but college-age kids that stay with her during their 'internship')

KMCoffey
KMCoffey

Randrew. You are correct. Sonja no longer brings up the toaster oven unless someone else mentions it. I agree with you Sonja can be a riot. I think why she has now turned her occupation into a more consulting position is because she was always talking about tangible items that we would be able to purchase at market. Now since none of that has come true Sonja has to back peddle and say she gets paid tens of thousands of dollars for branding and marketing advice. Either way it gives her no credibility. I also find it interesting that she never ever wants to admit that she gained wealth or a lifestyle from her ex husband. Sonja always acts as if she acquired everything on her own and nobody did anything for her. I find that hard to believe. I am sure there were some perks the average bear would not get BEING married to a Morgan.

KMCoffey
KMCoffey

I agree. I was a bartender while in grad school and I made a lot of valuable connections I still have to this day (30 years later) I do not tell people I was a restaurant marketing consultant. You have to hustle to get ahead in NYC it's a jungle. I question Sonja's journey WE all know she got to her destination I believe she rewrites history every time she tells a story.

KMCoffey
KMCoffey

I agree I interned also. I just think Sonja grossly exaggerates her needs for a staff and the actual size of her staff to make herself seem more important.

@ChaCha2@peace @janetkath @chris120 getting alimony is tough to get ......I think she is a penny pincher and gets by on bartering and freebies......she wouldn't even bet at the races...she is a bag of hot air who makes poor business decisions......yes Bravo is her steady paycheck and that goes to pay off her debt....she has nothing ...

janetkath
janetkath

@KMCoffey She may have gained a lifestyle from her marriage, but last we heard on the show, she is not receiving any spousal support, which is why she is doing anything she can think of to make a buck.

Francesca@Grosvenor1
Francesca@Grosvenor1

@KMCoffey FYI Sonja didn't come from a backwoods cabin. Her family owns a highly successful lumber business. Now Heather is another story......................

KMCoffey
KMCoffey

I don't think she is doing anything she can to make a buck. She has had 3 years to get a product to market and has failed miserably. Even Kristen, like her or not, got her husbands product to market in one season. Aviva got a horrible book to market. Sonja says she doesn't have the time to do a little deal for 100k because she is tooo busy managing the wealth she has acquired with her 45 employees she pays to do so lol.

KMCoffey
KMCoffey

I never thought Sonja came from a backwoods cabin. It's irrelevant to me where she came from and how much money her family has. I am talking about her behavior in the here and now. I did not know her family had a successful lumber business. Thanks for the info ;-)

Francesca@Grosvenor1
Francesca@Grosvenor1

@KMCoffey Euphemism for her back round, not an accusation. She can come off as someone from the other side of the tracks. You're more than welcome for the info however irrelevant  to you it may be insightful to others to better understand her character. She has one of those minds that never stops and what comes out of her mouth seems dizzying. How difficult must it be to speak when royal (?) eyes are rolling into the back of heads ready to call you out on every syllable..

I understand your point of view and your dry sense of humor. I get it lol ;-)
