I’d much rather go to a surprise birthday party than an election party! Emotions ran high during last November’s election, and I was glad when it was over. With my wedding only six weeks away, I was much more focused on love than politics. Tom and I had a few friends over to watch the results, and then I turned my focus back to wedding planning. Much more fun!
It was a miracle that the girls were able to keep Ramona from finding out about her surprise party! I thought that when Carole mentioned the party to Ramona that the surprise was ruined, but Ramona’s inattention saved the (birth)day. Can you imagine how Dorinda felt when she learned that Ramona might not make it to her party? Luckily, Ramona stayed on track and made it to her soiree. She looks amazing for 60, and I do believe her when she says she has more energy and happiness now than she ever did. I’ve always said that at parties it’s better to say an Irish goodbye and leave without drawing the host’s attention, especially when the party’s in full swing. So when Tom came to pick me up for a dinner that night, I left quietly, happy that I was able to celebrate Ramona’s birthday with her, yet excited to spend the rest of the evening with the man I love.
Until next week, be the life of the party and don't end the party!
