Surviving Tough Times

Jeana talks about the troubling economic turn, what really happened with Vicki, and the new wife, Alexis!

November 4, 2009

After being in the top 3% of Realtors worldwide for years, the transition to my salary being cut two-thirds hurt! My expenses and payments on the big house were over $20,000. Washington Mutual/Chase helped me immensely getting my loan modified on my main house; GMAC worked with Shane and was also great to work with. My friends with the smaller banks lost their homes. It pays to stay with the big boys. There needs to be more regulation on overdraft fees. College kids live close to the line all the time and a 7-dollar sushi roll can cost 35 in overdraft fees. Those lessons kids can do without learning! Most of my friends are in the same situation so we have movie nights and BBQs at my house. We will some day laugh at all this I hope.

Everyone thinks something awful happened between Vicki and I. I was sad when I saw that Vicki had said I was toxic on the premiere. I can’t imagine what would have caused her to say that. I hope next week explains why she would say something so mean. When time is valuable, you have to focus on what makes you feel good and what makes you money. I really needed support mentally; I have never been through a depression before. My savior was Rebecca and Tom Ferry my business coach. Rebecca Voss got me out of the house and Christina Cody and John Ellis got me working out. I am still taking Duzoxin! Tom Ferry got me a book agent and a ghostwriter to write a book about my life. It took about three months to shake out of my funk.I felt I was always there for Vicki, through thick and thin and she wasn’t there for me.

Dinner at St. Regis was the first time I had seen the girls in months, and I was upset that Lynne’s beautiful night was spoiled. Tamra and Gretchen both have legitimate beef with each other, but it is time to grow up and move on. Tamra may have started it months ago, but they are both are guilty of taking there troubles with each other to the blogs.

Always my fav Jenna, hold on, keep on pushing, it will be ok.

You were one of my favorits. I really missed you this season! Wish you would come back and I wish you the best of luck!

Jeanna,

WE MISS YOU!!!
Come back :S... you are a sweetheart & sooo unique!!

Love,
Melissa

Come back, you are the only normal one. I miss seeing you and I hope all is well.

I miss you! You and Jill from NY were my favorites... Good luck!

You have always been the only lady on the show!!!I love grechen but you have always been the one to take the high road and not gossip. gossip is for insecure people. I always get talked about becouse I an a giving person and non judgemental unless is has to do with kids then I'm a hard ass advocate!!! people are jealous of happy people and there for have to put them down so they can attempt to feal better about themselves, but that doesn't last long and so then there off causing mo(re unfounded trouble for someone else. You notice who's life is in crisis ( miss I don't want tobe in the middle )If she had a loyal bone in her body she wouldn't be in this mess, she showed off for the camera's and believed all the flattering blogs and thought she was all that now she's going to be all alone. (those people that encouraged her will drop her as soon as she's divorced. I guess she'll be living with her mom and her (alcoholic son.) How sad. I'm so glad you left before it ate you alive, but I Love that we got to know alittle bit about you and truly wish you LOTS OF LOVE AND HAPPINESS!!! keep bloging I want to keep up with you and your familys success!!!!!!!!

Jeana....you are missed...the only lady on this show!!! I don't know what they are all talking about...as in your sister housewives...you truely were a breath of fresh air and kindness...you definitely made the right move...life is not a reality show...Good luck to you and your family!

I don't even know that they can used the word "Real" in the title of the show now with Jeana gone. I hope you and your family pop up somewhere else, Jeana. By the way, I think you've done a lovely job raising your children, especially your daughter. It seems all the more remarkable that the three of them are so successful and talented given that we now find there were some tough family issues going on in the background. You've done a good job in the most important role!

Jeana,

You rock! You will be missed. Best wishes in your future endeavors. Hope to see you on the TV again in the future.

I'm so sorry to hear you're leaving. You and Laurie were my favorites on the show. You were and probally are the most "Real" on the show.
Take care of yourself and the best in anything you do in the future! There are not many people like you in this world. I found you and Laurie the most honest on the show. You both really out yourselves out there and no one has the right to pass judgement on you.
Thankyou for letting us into your life, we were the lucky ones.

Jeana, you have always been my favorite and I'm so sorry to see you go. I've watched the show since the beginning, and I have to say you have more class than all the others put together. I wish you the best with your book and your life. Live, love & enjoy. You deserve it! We'll miss you! And will watch for the book. Take care!

Jeana,
Stay positive and hold your head high. I truly enjoyed watching you on HW. I know what it is like to lose everything, to try and pick up the pieces. I am still after 3 loooong years trying to get myself on track after a harsh divorce.

I take each day as it comes and never look past that day. I one day will have it all and right now I am just grateful for my twins who will be graduating this year and for realizing that I am a STRONG woman. So if anyone has anything negative to say to you just remember...they are traaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaash!!! Best of Luck...

i am so sad to hear of you leaving the show. since you will be gone there is no reason for me to watch . . . you will be missed and i hope the best for you. i will always remember you as one of the zz top girls!! you were the only housewife with class.

Wish you nothing but health and happiness Jeanna.

You are the most sincere and REAL of the group.

Jeana I am so sad to hear that u are leavn the show .. to me as a viewer ...this will make for a interesting show .. seems as though u are getting along great with your life as u no longer have your husband ..and your children are getting older and moving on with their lives .. I only wish the best for you and I will be reading your book and hope only but the very best for you ...I am a fan of the show but without u we will just have to see.. best wishes to you and your family ...

I must say that you and Lori have always been my favorite housewives. I'm sad to see you go but understand why.

Too me you treat your family more like a family. You respect your children but at the same time you support them. Lori was the same way. I guess that is why I consider you two more like true house wives.

I wish you and your family well but will miss you.

I have to say I am very proud of you for standing up for you and taking this step ! I really am sad that your going but understand your move 100 % I think the show has become to drama filled instead of the focus of highly sucessful women and that makes me sad . But I think you rock and I high five you being brave enough to move forward and stay strong . You seem to me the only one on the show that says what she means and sticks to being a lady kudos for you .
Be safe in all you do and I wish you well .

Susie , Knoxville TN

Dear Jeana,
I was pretty bummed out when I heard you were leaving the RHOOC. You are my favorite. I hope things are better for you now. The kindness in you eyes reminds me so much of the kindness and love I see in my mom's eyes. The love you have for you children is awesome. Remember to take care of yourself. You will be missed and I HOPE you are in a much better place. Buena Suerte to you and your family. Looking forward to your book!!

Hi Jeanna
This is a new viewer of the show, have you thought about doing classes in real estate? teaching other people the pros and cons abnout the business? What to look for and stuff like that? just giving you ideas... take care

Hey again- I just had an idea after watching the show again.. maybe you should consider doing a talkshow..huh.?? think about it.. People seem to really be into your personality on the show..

Jeana- you are the reason I watch this show, I will be sadden by your departure. Everyone is experiencing the effects of this troubling economy.Don't let this get you down keep your head up and know that it will all work out. As for Vicki not being there when you needed her most is aweful, times like this are when we find out who our true friends are. Keep the Faith. And listen to your baby boy he is an awesome youngman.

God Bless.

Jeana you seem to be the most level headed woman on the show. You are a realist.I sure will miss you on the show. It's too bad that the other OCHW can't be as CLASSEY as you! Best wishes!

Jeana,
You were the only reason we wathced the show, you seem to be the most real and middle of the road of all the housewives. We are going to miss you and I am glad to hear you are doing better, I too am a Real Estate Broker and too have had a life change, but as you said you have to reinvent yourself and move foreward, I took on specialized in short sales and foreclosures, and wow I thought I had been hit hard by the times untill I started hearing what my clients have been through. This too shall pass! I hope you make it back to the show!

Jeana, Your a beautiful women, I have watched you from day one, I am in interior designer from Northern California, I would love to drive to your area and help you out!

Jeana, you are a class act. I'm sorry to see you go. God Bless you, and please check in every once in a while. I really think that Vicki and Tamra are the toxic ones. Their true colors are coming out, more and more. I'm shocked that Vicki threw you under the bus. She's no friend.

Jeana,

I think you are amazing woman. I love watching you and your family on bravo. I will miss you, so much. You are so very right that you can not be friends with your kids. You have to be a parent to them and teach them the right and wrong way of life. I am sorry you are having a hard time right now. But I know you will come out of with flying color, and you will be so much stronger for it. I have watched the show for 5 years. I think you are so real not like most of the other women on the show. But I can understand why you feel you have to leave the show. I hope we get to see you more in other things. Myself can not understand why they have to be so mean and cold hearted in the things they say and sometimes do. I don't understand why vicky is so mean and says hurtful things about you. I thought she was your best friend. But you know what people say what goes around comes around. You treat people how you want to be treat yourself. True friends are there for each other when they are having a hard time and when there lifes are going great. Please know that I will be saying prayers for you and your family. Take care and be strong always.

Jeana
I will miss you on the show and wish you and your family all the best. I think you are a great mom and your kids are very well grounded despite the pratfalls that can come with growing up with so much given to them because of wealth. They certainly seem to have the right values and character! That is a great accomplishment these days and you should be proud. I can also relate to the depression and have experienced it in my life - Keep going girl - you have all the tools!

Jenna you have been my favorite all time housewife since day one of the show. I hate to see you go, you were the "nice" one........you brought something special to the show. You were never mean or spiteful....you were always the voice of reason. I will miss you and I don't even think I will watch after you are gone. I wish all the best for you......YOU DESERVE IT!!!!!

You are truly my favorite housewife and the only reason I watch the show. It sounds like you are moving to a healthier place mentally and I admire you for your courage. I am disapointed in Vicki...yes, you have been there for her, but when you needed suppport, where was she? I, too have had a friend like that. I had to come to terms that it was not me and that I needed to move on. I was really happy to see Kara's change in her life. She is just like her momma! Good luck to you! We will miss you!

Jeana:
I'm sorry to see you leave the show! You are a wonderful person and I can tell you have a big heart! You truly care about people and I will miss watching you! Best of luck in all that you do!

Jeana, you are such a classy lady. You've always been my favorite housewife of all regions, even ATL, where I am from! I'm so sorry that you have left the show, but I understand and wish all of the best for you. You have a beautiful spirit and God will continue to bless you. I don't want to say mean things about Vicki, but I think a dose of hard times would teach her some compassion. I will miss you so much and I will pray that I get to see you again. I don't have heat right now as I can't afford natural gas. I make the best of it and keep my class in tact. I learned that from you. :)

Jeana, if you leave I will miss you. You are the main reason I watch, you are more down to earth and not a snob. I can't stand Tamera!
Good luck to you and God Speed.

Jeana,I'm sad to hear about your financial and health issues. I've been a fan of the show since season one and from the first few episodes, I could see you're a good and kind hearted person. I concur with the other viewers, I don't invest too much energy on Vicki's comment that you're a toxic person. Just stay focus on your beautiful family and true friends. Keep the faith and I'm sure you'll survive this crisis. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers. You're such a classy and beautiful lady!!! You'll be missed.

Good luck,Jeana.
You are sweet and kind. It is unfortunate that your toxic, mean girl friends didn't see or appreciate it.

I am SO going to miss you! You are my favoritest housewife ever. I am going to miss you. I hope you could/would come back.

Jeanna,

You were the only housewife I ever thought would be worth knowing. Sorry for what you're going through.

Hey, start reading www.thedailyreckoning.com - even the archives. It will help you to understand this economy. They predicted it years ago. Also read anything by Peter Schiff you can find. Order his books. Look at his web site. Go to You Tube and watch his videos. He also predicted this economy and gives great advice on what to expect (it will get worse) and what to do.

I love the story about your high school classmate. That is love.

God bless you and your family.

Jeana,Thanks for being such a class-act! I am going to miss you on the show. You are not at all negative or draining as Vicki says. You are realistic and have your priorities in the right place. Good luck with all of your future endeavors. Keep your chin up lady!

Jeana:
Like I told NeNe, I see you and I see your pain. Of all the Housewives, I relate the very most with you. We are givers, we give from our heart, and we never ask for anything. I cannot tell you how sorry I am that Vicki did not help you when you truly needed it, but I will tell you the very thing happened to me. It stumps us, it confuses us to a point that we feel we can't survive, but survive we must. Focus on your children, own your pain, and release yourself of the 'toxic' self centered people you have previously surrounded yourself with. It's a rare gift to have so many people come when you need them, embrace their love and know how much you are loved. You have a beautiful heart, continue to share it with others, what else can happen, but good.

Jeana you are the reason I started watching ANY of the housewives shows. For starters you have beautiful children. Your boys are gorgeous and your daughter is just beautiful. Everytime you talk or I read a blog it's like having someone you can relate to talk to you. You choose your words well and you seem to not cause a whole bunch of conflict. In this day I didn't think could feel so hopeless. My fiance had lost his job and my once comfortable lifestyle became uncomfortable but you gotta move forward. I love your strength in so many ways. Because it is embarassing to fall out of your comfort zone but you've been for the most part fairly well about it all.

Jeana, I think you are beautiful and I think snobby Vicki didn't need to say what she did about you.it was just mean and made her look classless...........good luck with all to you and your family.........if ya ever get to Indy look me up and I will treat you to lunch...........homemade at my home........God Bless

Jeana - you're an accepting, respectful, gentle, and caring woman. You were never petty or jealous like so many of the others proved to be. Good for you for handling yourself with such class.

Jeana,
OMG! Please dont leave!!!! You are the BEST housewife!!! I have loved watching you and your family. Kara makes my daughter and I laugh...she is sooooo funny. My 18 year old daughter is soooo much like her! Love girls that are down to earth like they both are! I wish you well on your future plans and will say a prayer for you and your beautiful family. Take care and God bless!
lisa

What a loss. You were the bright spot of the show. Genuine, caring, true. And certainly not two-faced. Now we will be left with nothing but silicone, botox and backstabbing in a sea of blondes desperate to stay young. Jeana, we will miss your genuine compassion for others. Being in that toxic atmosphere can only bring out the worst in you, so I applaud you for getting out while you're still true to yourself. I hope that we see you on a show in the future, but for heaven's sake, Jeana, NOT on Housewives of Orange County -- you're MUCH better than that. Take care, and God Bless.

Jeana, you were always my favorite, but after the reunion and then this show, you cant stand up for the victim 24/7. Sometimes you just gotta let the cards play out and let people say what they need to say, contantly trying to be the middle woman, it goes nowhere. Sad to hear of your financial crisis, hope it all gets better, and i hope you find love, will hate to see you leave, but we understand why. Good luck!!!

Love ya, Jeana! You always keep it real! Much success with everything.

You're my favorite of all the housewives, and I really hope that your life and business turn around. I'm sorry Vicki has been so mean to you and I hope you know you're better off with out her. Good luck to your family!!

I agree with many others have already said You're great!! Good luck.

I wish you luck in your future plans! But next time, maybe instead of $7 sushi it should be 79 cent Taco Bell...? Good luck just the same.

Jeana, if you go, I go. You were the last good person on this show and now I'm out. This show has changed and not for the better. Good luck to you and your family.

Good luck and god bless. You will be missed.
