Frankie, The Pool, And Boot Camp

Vicki Gunvalson describes a typical date night with her husband, and explains why she enrolled in boot camp!

By Vicki Gunvalson

I'm so glad that everyone got to meet Frankie in this episode. If you check out the video we made with Andy Cohen last week, you can get more of the conversation about Frankie. It was originally Jeana that introduced me to him. He originally contacted her and was a "fan" of the show and wanted to be her personal decorator/hair dresser. He contacted her because he wanted to move into Coto from the Bay area.

I love the scene where Jeana and I are in boot camp. I have always worked out religiously, but felt after seeing myself on Season 1 and 2, I needed someone to push me to the next level. It helped a lot! I lost over 5 lbs of body fat, and to this date I weigh almost 20 lbs lighter than I did Season 1. I am so glad I did it, and I definitely plan to start doing it again as soon as life slows down a little. The only hard part was getting up at 5am.

And so, there go Donn and I. Downsizing. We were thinking about how with the kids out of the house, we didn't need such a big home with all the upkeep. It's a big choice, and a big decision. Having the pool built was definitely one of the hardest parts of the process. It's very important to me to have things that are unusual and different. I have such an amazing backyard, I didn't want to compromise it if we decided to move and build a new one. I love to entertain and have people over to my house a lot, so backyard fun is high on the priority list.

Donn and I really try and set time to go out on a date every week. I think with how busy our life is, it's important to set time aside to have conversations outside of the home. Donn and I really struggle with this. We are both so busy and so independent, that if we don't spend time one on one with eachother — we tend to drift apart. I think for any relationship to be successful, you need to spend time with it. That includes your parents, siblings and children! Stay tuned for episode three!
