Hi everyone, I hope this blog finds you doing well. When I was contacted by Bravo and asked if I would participate in a "Where Are They Now" blog, I almost wasn't sure where to start. As I am sure everyone knows, my life since being part of The Real Housewives of Orange County will never be the same. Just shortly after I completed season two of the Real Housewives, both of my kids ended up moving to L.A. for different reasons. I made the necessary plans to follow so I could be as close to them as possible. My work in L.A. has kept me extremely busy, so the move was necessary from that standpoint as well. I worked with Jo on her new album "Unscripted" and I am very proud of her. The album is finished and available everywhere from iTunes to Best Buy and Wal-Mart. We just finished a five-week radio promo tour on the East Coast and she is already getting lots of airplay. Her single just broke through to the top ten on the dance charts. Check it out at www.jodelarosamusic.com.
Just as we were completing her album, Jo and I were approached to do the new TV show, Date My Ex. Let me tell you, it was a very hard decision to do that show. No one wants to see their ex date, that's weird, and living with her dates was even weirder. Nonetheless, I offered to do the show and thought I might be able to make some fun out of it. Truth be told, it wasn't fun - it got much more emotional than I anticipated and all I can say is that you should see the size of my therapy bill. It's HUGE! LOL. Check out this video.
Prior to taping Date My Ex, we shot Jo's music video for her new single "U Can't Control Me." You can watch the video at www.jodelarosamusic.com (just click on media). We ended up inviting my girlfriend Gretchen Rossi up to L.A. and take part in the video. You may not recognize Gretchen's name now, but you will. She is the newest housewife on the fourth season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, set to premiere on November 25th. Gretchen and I have been friends for about seven years and she is so friggin' hot. Anytime Gretchen and I hang out, we get in so much trouble, so I can only imagine what will happen with her and the other housewives. I can guarantee season four will be a must see! As it turns out, even though Jo and I are not together, we will appear in a couple episodes of Housewives this season, and I personally can't wait to watch what happens.
While doing press for NBC this year on our show Date My Ex, I had a chance to meet the ladies from The Real Housewives of Atlanta. I love them, they were so cool, and after getting a chance to spend a little time with them, I knew The Real Housewives of Atlanta was going to be a huge hit. I have bumped into Kathy Griffin a few times and we have a totally hot romance brewing - she is so much fun. But because she is such a huge celebrity, we have to keep our love for each other on the down low. I have always done a lot of charity work, but since doing the show, the amount of requests has become overwhelming. But I believe so much in this work, and I try to do everything I can to help out. I realize how lucky and blessed I have been, so I have an inherent need to give back as much as possible. I speak on behalf of the "Make A Wish Foundation," which you can check out here. I have also done hosting work for "The L.A. Youth Network."
I also just finished hosting an event for Operation Smile where proceeds from the clothing company 'Wet Cement" go to the charity. They have just launched their brand in Saks 5th Ave. I have had the pleasure of acting as a radio co-host with Sam Phillip, on her hit show "The Single Life," on 97.1 Free FM. I am the new face of "GERGE," a luxury watch Brand that is set to launch a one-year advertising campaign with me. And I have just completed a joint venture with Vemma Nutrition company and the energy drink "VERVE!"
If I have any spare time left at all, I love spending it with my girlfriend, Gelusa Zaripova. She is a very busy model and actress herself so we don't get to see each other much. You can see Gelusa on the TV series Numb3rs and several new movie roles in 2009. I have truly never been busier in my life, and with several other TV and movie rolls in the works, it doesn't look like I will ever be slowing down. Truth be told, I wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks so much to everyone who has watched and made The Real Housewives of Orange County such a huge success. I wish you all the best and God bless.
