Funny Business

Alexis shares what she thought was most hilarious in this episode and discusses Slade's act.

This is a week full of fun for the Bellinos! My kids are out school this week for "Winter Break" so we brought the kids to La Costa Resort in San DIego. Yesterday it poured rain, so we couldn't do the water slides like we were suppose to, so we had movies, pjs and room service! Today was cold, but we did the African Safari at the Wild Animal Park, which was incredible! Tomorrow will be water slides, and Thursday is Legoland! Heading in to the jacuzzi right now because we were so cold during the Safari that now we need to be de-frosted!

Watching Vicki in the beginning scene while cooking in the kitchen was so hilarious! She just cracks me up! I couldn't stop laughing at Vicki. The more I get to know her, the more I think she is so fabulous. There is never a dull moment around her and I enjoy her so much!

I was glad Heather accepted my invitation to lunch. I wanted to get to know her better (away from the other girls), and I had a great time. I felt it was important that she knew that I was teasing the night at her painting party, and since she didn't know me very well, maybe it needed to be said. Although after watching that episode I feel I came across sarcastic. I honestly was just joking by calling her out when I said "we don't talk about those things," and I wanted her to know that.

Slade's mom should get her own comedy act! She is just the funniest person ever. Her reaction to Slade proposing to Gretchen was classic. She makes me laugh every time she is on the show. I think she needs to be incorporated more frequently!

Slade's comedy act was definitely hurtful to Vicki and Tamra, and I don't think it's funny to make fun of other people, especially as part of an act where they aren't able to defend themselves. However, some parts of his act were funny. I have to give both he and Gretchen props for getting up on that stage, because whether the show was good or bad, comedy has to be one of the most difficult things to attempt, and I wouldn't have the nerve to do it.

I cannot image the fear and stress Vicki felt at that dinner with Briana, discussing what issues Briana was having. You could see the sadness in Vicki's eyes, but Vicki kept her composure in front of her daughter, because that's what parents do. She didn't let her emotions go in front of Briana, although I know she has let herself feel all of these emotions in private. Briana has had a rough couple of years, and it doesn't seem fair that someone as young as her has been given the struggles she has. Yet, somehow, Briana keeps her spirits up with all that she has been dealt. I have always thought Briana is an amazing, kind, strong, lovely person, and it is proven by her every year.

Thank you to all of you that take the time to read my blog every week. I have been so blessed to have amazing fans who are supportive of not just me, but also of Jim, and our family. Your support means the world to me!

Until next week,

Shannon Settles the Score

If Andy's asking "What's the score, Shannon Beador?" Shannon thinks she's definitely won.

This is Blog #20, my last Blog for the season! The past year was been a wild ride for both me and for my family. I have come to many realizations about myself, made lifelong friends, experienced some tough moments, and embarked on a path to a more peaceful self. So to use Andy’s phrase, “What's the score, Shannon Beador?” I would say without a doubt that I have definitely won.

I am happy that the viewers got a little glimpse into my sometimes unconventional ways! For me, it's all about good energy. I love that Vicki’s business has clearly benefited from trying feng shui with Elaine Wright. If you can't get hurt, there is no reason to try anything holistic. If you actually benefit, why wouldn't anyone want to go the natural way? If my children tend to feel better after seeing Dr. Moon and not have to take antibiotics, then I am a happy mom. It's all about creating a healthy balance!

I am an open book and am often criticized for it, but I am who I am. I don't know many couples married for 13 years that have a perfect relationship. Everyone has ups and downs, and although it may be difficult and require effort, it is possible to move through it and make things better. I have said it many times in the season that divorce is not an option. I will always fight for my marriage and my family. It truly touches my heart that so many fans have been and continue to root for David and I. I am so appreciative and grateful for all of your positive comments! Thank you!

Do Tamra and Heather truly want to move forward and potentially develop a friendship with me? Only time will tell. But for now, I have amazing friends surrounding me, including Vicki Gunvalson and Lizzie Rovsek. And most importantly, I have been blessed with the most incredible family anyone could ask for. That is where all of my energy is focused.

I will never forget this entire year, both the good and the bad, because each moment took me on the journey to where I am today. And today, I am in a phenomenal and happy place. Thank you for taking this journey with me!
